Brrrrr..! Tuesday

I am very excited that I get to start this thread! I am back in the Fleetwood customer service center sitting in my vehicle in the service bay with people working around me. The exciting thing is that my new steps just arrived! Yea. Still waiting for a replacement panel for the side of my cabinet that got bashed in by the drawer. They have added a second lock to the drawer, which makes it hard to open, but that if fine. Also waiting for a new leg for my rear dinette table, and a small spring for my sunroof and a seal for my oven. The last two things will most likely not come today, but they are small and I can put them in if they mail them to me. The reglued my door panel together, but still need to adjust it. Seems much more sturdy.

I told them I want to be out of here today, so am hopeful.

They also showed me how to check the water level in my batteries and to change the water filter. The water pump had a bunch of plastic shavings in it from manufacturing, so my hot shower had a lot more than a dribble last night.

So far, things have gone very well. Hope everyone out there also has a good day.

Sounds like things are progressing along for you Judy. Wow, suck a list of stuff needing repairs. Looks ilke some poor qualilty inspection when that rig left the factory. But at least you are getting it fixed and hopefully that will be the end of it. And if all goes well, you can be on your way to your son's. Are you planning on spending Thanksgiving with him and his family?

It's a chilly wintery morning here at the 45th. A light layer of snow covers the ground outside my window, compliments of Lake Michigan's snow machine. I can still see the grass underneath, so not all that much. But I have a feeling that the road's are a bit slick this morning. I"m not going anyway, so don't care.

Today is going to be a "me" day. Just do what I want. Will throw a load of laundry in the washer and then head for the garage and cut some boards to size so I can start making more signs. Want to get some Merry Christmas ones made before the holiday is over and done with Then plan to make some Winter Welcome ones after that. That is a project for Up North next month while I am watching the snowflakes fall outside my window and enjoying just being there. I don't really have an idea for making my Christmas signs, but will kind of just feel it as I go along. Will probably "veg" and watch a movie this afternoon perhaps.
Dentist appt. and Chiropractor appts. are out of the way and tomorrow I see my Nurse Practioner for my physical I hope. She might want me to get my blood work done first and then go back for the physical Hate making two trips.

Not much else going on today, so am going to head on out of here. Wishing you all a nice day, travel safe if you are on the road.

Judy, so glad that things are finally sounding like they are going your way with your rig. I know you are happy about that drawer and your hole in the wall. Hope they do get you out of there today. I am hoping to get my little issues fixed when we get back to Fort Worth, which will be in a little over a week.

Going to be a day of starting to get organized for this life on the road. Downloading Microsoft Office right now so can have Excel and Word, especially. Need to start spreadsheets to track expenses beginning in December. These last few months have had an awful lot of set up and start up expenses. Just like when buying a new S&B, there are always expensive items that you need to get everything set the way you want it. That should be winding down now.

Looking forward to a day of doing little things. Need to do my To Do List. Want to get a few family pictures hung in my bedroom and small repairs done today. If I don't get it done today, beginning Friday, when we are at our next stop, should have more time to putter around the rig. Plus it is getting colder out so figure will have more days of mostly being in the rig until we finally get to head south instead of back north.

Hope things get all finished for you Joan... Sue you have so much energy... need to change my bed but have to get awake first... Dawn you are organizing and I am de-organizing... if there is such a word... brought more in from Bright Hope on Sunday now have to re arrange things in here to take care of more 'stuff'... so I sit here with a cup of coffee doing one of my favorite things... learning what everyone else is doing...
My cleaning lady will come today and tackle my bedroom... I will help her as there are things for Good will and for sale that I will put in the small bedroom...

Good morning everyone. Judy, glad to hear you repairs are going smoothly. Sue, sounds like a perfect day. Dawn, got my fingers crossed for your "weigh in" tomorrow. Today will be my rest day. We are home from boot camp. Camp was really intense. So much information, so much to think about. Very huge portion of the courses focused on safety, fire safety, weight distribution, overweight problems, tires (proper inflation for your rig, wear and tear, replacing, etc.). The instructors were great. Everyone at Escapees were so nice and friendly and helpful. The people attending the boot camp ranged from old time full timers, to people that had not yet purchased their first rig, to newbies like me and all the in betweens. It was so great to meet everyone. I especially enjoyed spending time with Dawn, Paul and Ellen. It is so easy to have a friendship in person when it already started months ago on this forum

Yesterday, got everything ready to go. Took truck over and had it weighted. Then time to hook up 5ver. Something went awry with the fancy new hitch and it would not close or latch around the king pin. Sasquatch and I tried several times, to no avail. Then other 5ers came to help. It took awhile, but at last they figured it out. So we got in line to weigh the truck with the rig, etc an hour late. But again, everyone was so helpful, reassuring and pleasant about us messing up their schedule. Then we towed her down to Katy, TX to the dealer to have some warranty (I hope ) done. We off loaded everything into the truck and headed home. Still off loading stuff this morning.

Tyler was a perfect travel dog. He doesn't bark. He does his bizz on a set schedule. Really kick back. Then we get home. Last night he wanted out every other hour. I'd let him out and he'd want right back in By 6 am I am sleep deprived and he is sitting there whining. Then I figured it out, he wanted to go for a walk. When we travel I walk him several times a day including first thing in the Am\M and last thing in the PM. So I grabbed a leash and walked him around the property and he was happy. me? NOT

Just thought I'd share some of Sasquatch's observations from our two long weekends camping in our Montana. Sasquatch gets frustrated when the hitch would not work. He is not a patient person. However, the whole weekend had a positive effect, specially Dawn and Paul. He made comments about how social and nice RV people are. He was very happy to find out that you could easily have the TV he wants while traveling -- thanks to Dawn lending us one of their portable satellite dishes and receivers. Sasquatch was really happy. He's looking for the perfect package from Direct TV. Now if I can get reliable internet so he can manage our retirement investments, etc., we might hit the road sooner and stay longer than a long weekend. Last night he walked through the house and abruptly commented about his observations of all the full timers and that we really don't need any of this "stuff." Most of it is his stuff, cuz when I moved here from Hawaii I got rid of everything except clothes and special stuff I inherited. Yes, I've accumulated some stuff, but very little. I have no dilusions that we will ever be full timers, but I think longer journeys are in our future

I also learned that I probably should wear protective head gear. I have been really good bending and ducking while running around the rig, getting into and our of cargo holds, etc. I was working on one of the leaky hook ups and Sasquatch called, so I went running around the front, bending over to miss hitting my head. I made the swing too big and ran full force top of my forehead into the king pin!! Sent me flying back onto my butt and I was really dazed for awhile and couldn't stand up. One of the park employees saw it happen and came over. Sasquatch is hard of hearing and didn't hear my yelp, but saw my feet go flying and then I was on the ground. So head protection might be a good idea. I'm still recovering from the concussion from the auto accident in September.

I better stop rambling and get on with doing the laundry and and getting settled back into the stick and bricks for awhile. Can't believe Thanksgiving is only a little more than a week. Everyone stay safe and those on the road be very careful. Aloha y'all

Red - every single time I pulled a chair out from under Colleen's 5er, I raised up too soon. And that didn't count the cover on my truck clocking me a couple of times. Fortunately, Sasquatch Jr. fixed the struts on my cover so it doesn't do that anymore.

Sue - forgot to mention - but I loved Judy's sign that you made her. And she was really proud of it as well.

Truck's in the shop getting some repair work, but they better have ti ready by Friday noon. Going camping for the weekend at a local DOG. I'm cooking cornbread dressing in my DO this weekend, which also involves cooking cornbread - I hope that comes out better than at the GTG.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Lots of people up for coffee today! Sounds as if many people are getting things fixed and modified on their rigs, and one person is modifying her brain with her rig! Red, get thee a helmet, for sure! You can paint something cute and clever on it to get a few laughs!

It's a bit overcast here today in Orlando, but a comfy 67 degrees----warm enough for Kathy and me to head to the club pool and Jacuzzi for some fun time! First I need to chop back the hibiscus bushes that have overtaken my roses and other pretty plants on the front of the house. The trash pickup for yard waste is tomorrow morning, so I want to make a big pile today for tomorrow's pickup. It feels good to be back in my winter home and find things much as I left them last April. So far, Dinah can be inside free for short periods of time with no peeing on the floors----she had never been in a house before I adopted her, I am sure, so I am working on house-training her now that we will spend some time in a house. All summer, we lived in the trailer back home, and the dogs could go free in the yard. They can still go free at my son's house in St. Cloud, so they will get plenty of run time. Dinah no longer runs the perimeters of the fencing there, looking for escape routes as she did last spring, so neither dog needs to wear their zapper collars to discourage such wandering behavior.

well good morning all...just finished up all my chores (well only what I'm gonna do for the day lol) and now I'm ready to go out and do a little grocery shopping..on my list (yes, Dawn) is a pork steak. Now don't ask cause I don't really know hahaha well sorta. I mean last night as I sat on Dawn's toaster again ( my spot when chatting on iPad) she was making dinner and me being who I am ...I asked. She did the show and tell lesson. Yes, we had our own cooking show.hahaha. Then I did my add on showing her my fast method of making mashed taters. They come in the freezer section cause in my rig I don't use my stove (propane) that much..it's crock pot toaster oven ( now be coming my seat) and electric skillet as I explained to Dawn that my propane becomes my liquid gold hahaha..for when set up in camp ground not too many have fill service to rig ..so I use an extend a stay kit and small propane tank to fill. Works for me. Another story..and I find cheaper places to fill my tanks..yes, I can be rather frugal ...

Red sorry about that bumping and I too would agree a helmet for you with maybe a light on top you know like them miner hats hahaha. And glad you two made it safe back home..anxious to follow your travels too..

Judy..sure hope you get all them problems fixed before you head out..I know my list always keeps growing.

Soos happy to hear you are now settled in sunny Florida. We sure are having some nice weather..

Hope some one of Joan's family will let us know how she is doing.

Good morning to All from Sunny blue skyd San Carlos, MX. Our teeth and bones have finally stopped rattling from yesterdays ride.
jennie and Willie seem no worse for the trip. Bill will go around checking screws etc today to make sure.
We both slept like logs last nite. He was worn out fromt he trip and I was worn out from watching him work so hard.
Today we'll go to Guaymas a few miles down the road to make a Walmart trip and see how much the town has changed since we were here last.
It snowed at home in Indiana yesterday. Didn't stay on the ground long but still SNOW!
Well off to today's adventures.

It's still morning in NM.....Our last day here....On the Road again tomorrow...heading east....It's been cold here, but know we'll run into warmer temps somewhere along the line.... I'm late here cause I've spent the morning organizing and packing stuff away for the trip.....pictures off the walls, wine rack & wine put under the bed, crafts stuff packed and placed on the recliner that's already strapped down for travel.....Spinner's all excited....he knows we're getting ready to "ride" He loves to ride....just don't feed him while riding,, it can get messy.....

Okay, better go finish up....still have the fridge to hoe out....Have a great day all...
