Venice Beach, Santa Monica -general area

Postby MrsHomeSweetRoam » Mon Nov 12, 2012 9:27 pm

Right smack in the middle of this, and right on the beach and boardwalk, is a parking lot full of RVs... some are nearly permanent as they haven't moved for quite some time. I have done a bit or reading and apparently you can get away with boondocking in this lot... but the regulars are a special sort of crew...

IF I ever get the courage to attempt to stay here, I will definitely document it and do a write up in the review section. ;)

I always thought a documentary on the 'vendors of venice beach' would be an interesting undertaking for someone... how do they live? where do they go at night? what brought them here? etc... Thanks for re-kindling the wonder... ;)

A quick search and I found this

There is a lot more out there...I will see if I can find more or interesting links about that subject.

I had just made a comment about Venice Beach in the Santa Monica pier post....and here it is! Yep, pretty much as I remember it, but being there is a whole 'nother experience.

That is another place I haven't seen yet but want to. I have heard there are some very interesting people and activities there!

Gosh, all these photos are making me really miss California and want to go back to see and explore more of it!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I'll love it - at least at first - but then I'll die...because I have zero experience as of yet. :P

Thanks, I'll see if I can stream this online somewhere... :D

By the way, off this topic, but are you aware that your name 'MrsHomeSweetRoam' is close to a documentary's name - Roam Sweet Home? http://www.mobilusmedia.com/roam.html My aunt is in it - she was a full-timer long before it was as popular as it is now... Interesting documentary if you can get your hands on it.

Holy moly, I did not know. Going to check that out. How neat-o. My husband came up with this name almost ten years ago- and then bought the domain name I don't know how many years ago, in anticipation for this. I'll see about finding a way to view it! Wow.
