Overall Rating: (on a scale of 1 – 10)
I'd like to refrain from rating it or filling out more info until we use the place with our RV for the first time and experience it in a whole new light!

Pros:
Accepts tents- big rigs.
In the tent area we frequent, and seemingly most we've walked by, have a good amount of space between sites-one of the things we loved.
The interior roads down to the specific sites vary- some are rough but the rough ones I remember, you probably wouldn't want to bring a big rig down anyway. Most are in good shape, last I been there.
There is a separate area set aside for RVs but you can choose from some of the other sites- plenty of room.
Fishing.
Camp store and even fuel station (expensive! but useful)
Day trip worthy trip to from camp to Solvang, Ca and other other interesting sites like cave paintings (take your toad not your rig to see that! or there are tours you can buy tickets for and let them handle the driving!)
There are some areas with tonnes of large trees and others with less- get there early or on an off day and drive abouts or walk around and keep note of good looking (to you) sites.
You get to go find a spot and then come back to inform the ranger/check in (leave something there or someone there at the site you want)

Cons:
Only fishing is allowed in the water; boats...no swimming and dogs aren't allowed near the water. Makes for some limited hiking in worry of violating the distance rule with the dogs.

We've experienced an occasional "party" group- not true campers....the kind that come out to make a racket, music and sound of glass and ruckus. But only a few times.

No reservations

My family has been going there for decades. Apparently my grandfather had a dock there at some point. When I met my husband and started camping with him, it was the first place I took him...fell in love with it, as I did and we've gone there multiple times. WE do however have a couple favorite sites an just go straight to them. We prefer out on the peninsula where neighbors are far and there's water on three sides. It is breezy though...but beautiful, quiet and and calming. Lots of shade and squirrels.

Another place I am familiar with. I lived in Santa Barbara about 25 years ago.Two years ago I drove up there for my birthday and stopped at Lake Cachuma on my way to Solvang for the day. It is a beautiful park/campground there. I do remember that gas at their gas station was about a dollar a gallon more than in Santa Barbara tho!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
