new on the road gal

Come on in and say hello.

new on the road gal

Postby Just4fun » Mon Nov 12, 2012 3:07 pm

Well Hello,

I'm finally on the road. While surfing for camp spots I came across this website and am very excited to read and learn.
I'm a gal from Montana in my late 30's. My ride is a 1986 Toyota Mini Cruiser and my German Shepherd/Chow mix dog is my side kick. This is my first time hitting the open road and I'm very excited. I just couldn't do the winters back home anymore.
I've been on the road for a couple weeks now but have had my fair share of road bumps. The biggest is having my transmission go out. Thankfully, that has been takin care of. I couldn't have done it without my friends back home helping me out. Currently I'm heading south through California, then over to Arizona. I have no idea where I'm going everyday, but I have no where to be, so it is nice.
Any suggestions of places to see or things to do would be appreciated. I look forward to talking to more of you.

Kristy

Darn, Maggie, you lost me my post by getting in there first.

Welcome to the forum, Kristy! Glad you found us. There is so much to see/do in AZ that you could spend all winter there and not see/do it all. From the Nat.Parks to the observatory, to just hiking the desert you can be as busy or lazy as you want. Hope to meet ya down the road one day.

Welcome from SoCal....sounds like you have your trip mapped out the same way a lot of us do...in jello! Enjoy the ride!

Hi and Welcome, Kristy! Glad to have you with us. I'm in AZ for the winter - lots of places you can see here if you desire. And if you come through would be happy to meet up with you somewhere for a few hours if we can work it out. I met with Diana (mtngal) in Tucson a couple weeks ago as she traveled through. And will be getting together with Ava hopefully in the next couple weeks. There are lots others that are here in AZ or will be at various times of the winter - so if you want to meet anyone, you'll have lots of opportunity.

Lots of neat places to see in California - so take your time, and enjoy.
