Is it normal for a class c to be squeaky?
esp. the over the cab area. They took out
the TV that came with rig and put in a flat
screan, it does not fit the hole but is bolted
down...could that be the reason? really squeaky

My front TV is good, but my rear slide squeaks when I walk back there. Drives me crazy sometimes! At least it does not leak.

Seriously, how is your TV bolted down? Mine is on a very heavy arm that swings out from the side. It does not squeak at all and seems pretty stable considering it is a 30" TV and only attached to that arm.

Every Class C I have had has been very noisy. Every thing squeaks or rattles. When I'm driving it's so noisy I can hardly hear to talk on the phone. Sometimes the side door makes a sound like 2 pieces of Styrofoam rubbing together. That drives me crazy.

Donna, there are going to be some noises. You can control lots of them. I found my stove cover was causing a rattle - put a cloth in the area rattling, and it's silent now. Also, I need to close the cover on the screen door or it rattles. Some of the seal for around my slide makes noise on some roads. If I'm on a road doing it a long time, I pull over and put duct tape around it, stops that. But have to remember to remove it before opening the slide, or - well, the expense of replacing that would be terrible - which is why I don't keep the duct tape there all the time! I can't imagine the tv on the arm causing "squeaks" - but anything is possible. If you can, get someone to ride around a few blocks with you - someone willing to trust you and not be seat belted in - where they can try to hear where the noises are coming from. Or let them drive and you get to that area. That's how I finally figured out the stovetop rattle - and that was my worst.

There is a slight hill about a block and a half from my house I have to go up whenever I leave home (yes Kathlees, this is a HILL not mT!) I ususally notice a squeaking when i go up this hill also coming from the cab area. Don;t pay much attention to it, figure this is normal from the movement sort of side to side and the way the cabover part is made. Don't expect a nice quiet ride like a car!

A family member told me her partner goes nuts when she hears noises and squeaks in their vehicles. I told her NOT to buy a motorhome because everything rattles and makes noises!

I also put a towel between my stove cover and the burners when I drive because they rattle. The oven racks also rattle, as does a lot of the stuff in my cupboards. You just have to do the best you can and live with it. Between that and watching things falling off shelves and out of cabinets when you open them after a bumpy ride, RVing is a very exciting occupation. You never know what will fall or rattle next.

Now, if the TV is rattling so bad you think it is being damaged, that is another thing.

My most annoying problem is the sound of air coming in, like I have left a window open a wee bit or door is not shut good etc. On older RV, even sounded like a window up top might have been left opened, (I never opened them ). No windows up top in Thor. This is something I still find hard to deal with, must always check to make sure everything is shut good, wind sound still there.

The older unit I had, I do remember there was some sqeaky sounds at times, from overhead area, especially on uneven roads, which I traveled a lot of roads in that one that some of you would never dream of traveling on  The cab area and rv part are two different units, so I didn't think to much about it, guess I just thought that was part of the rv. traveling  Haven't noticed that in this rig.

I am lucky though, I don't really hear noise from the back area, I'm either deaf to it, or just used to it or maybe there isn't much yet. My stove is built in cabinet and has plastic door that comes down over the burners. Nothing like older unit, it did rattle. I'll just pray I always stay deaf to any noises I might have   The wind problem is Enough !!! :D

Occasionally something will fall, but I just ignore it until I stop, always means, I didn't put things away as I should and whatever mess I have is my own fault  :o

I can understand your being uneasy about this situation, but think its just something you might need to get used to. If you do think it might be more, have it checked out, so you feel better and more confident in your rv. I wish you many happy times in it !!!!
