I can't resist. This is not my cat, but here is my youngest grandaughter and my son's 15 year old Siamese. Poor thing has gone through three kids and has never bitten or scratched any of them, even though we think she has certainly been entitled to do so after all of the rough treatment she has received.
When picked up, cat just hangs there, dejectedly. She does not even struggle to get loose.

She is a very affectionate cat, and most of the time she is smart enough to hide out when the kids are running around. As soon as they go to bed, she comes out.
Obviously, she got caught in the wrong place. This youngest one really adores her, and at least she is picking her up better than she used to. I have seen her pick her up partly by the tail and the cat barely protests. Very patient, indeed, but I am sure she wishes those pests would go away.
