Sat-rday--fall back!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sat-rday--fall back!

Postby carolb » Sat Nov 03, 2012 6:25 am

Good morning! G'grief, I was awake at 4 a.m., which will be 3 a.m. tomorrow?? Bt we'll be closer in time to all ya Arizonians! I finished making my list of online/real names--still not helping! I'm hopeless! I wandered into the "intro" topic this morning (a rarity) & welcomed a new member who seems a lot like me. Now I don't remember her name! Karen, I think! :? And I read somewhere that Echo is in TN & we've not heard from her. I do remember her, & yes, she's been absent! Where are ya, Echo???? Safe, we all hope. Health problems, we hope NOT! TX GTG pix of food! Looks like a great time!...Now, Dawn, I need to know abot this "making cigs & soda" (with or w/o yore teeth!) My bro does both, & yore the first other person I've heard that does this! Anyway to save money is GOOD! He got a cig machine for me--yep, I'm a part-time smoker. My only evil vice  ;) Was costing an arm & leg here in NY, so I tried to qwit to save money. Instead, was spending more on fixing things I'd be breaking in fits of withdrawals! Someday--hmmm, BJ, some hypnosis??? How great that Tina stopped to visit ya! (Think I read something like that, somewhere??) Hey Soos, looks like the weather will break for ya to get on the road tomorrow. Bet y'll be happy to get to warm FL, even tho yore leaving that sweet grandson behind. Freezing temps & a few snow flakes in the forecast for here; looks like an inch for northern NY....Well, ya'll be safe, & prayers still going to Irmi & all others recovering from Sandy. Y'all are a great blessing to me--giving great advice, sharing innermost "secrets," & providing good laffs! :D Love ya'll!

Hey, morning there Carol and everybody,

Yep, tomorrow it will certainly be an hour earlier. Thought about that this morning when I wook up at 6:30. Kinda hate the longer nights, but hey, we are in November and by mid Jan. it's staying light longer :) But the mornings get light earlier for awhile and since I am a morning person......

Carol, I've gotten so used to your having to write without your "u", that if you make a word and just leave out the dash, I read right past it and keep on going. Easy to understand with no problem at all :)

Last I heard, Echo was having some internet problems out where she was, so said she probably wouldn't be on that much. I'm hoping they did't get dumped with a mess of snow from Sandy. Just what they need.

Irmi, saw a post in General Talk that you said you won't post here anymore cause of all the sympathy you are getting on your home beinng flooded the third time. Don't stop postng because of that. We enjoy hearing about your travels and all the great times you have etc. It's jsut that many of us aren't aware that you have been flooded three times and just pck up and keep going. Extending sympathy is just a way of life here when nobody knows what else to say and there are people who would think they are being ignored if somebody didn't say they were sorry to something happenng to them. I don't think it's so much sympathy as just our concern for you and Steve. We know you are going to get back there, pick up the pieces, get cleaned up and get back out on the road again. So please, just keep popping in here.

Soos, as to making a snowman here, heck there wasn't even enough snow to make a mini snowball. And probably won't be for awhile now. Forecast looks to be kind of nice for the next few days. Cold, but what the heck, it's late fall.

I quit procrastinating and fnally got my body to the gym yesterday. Time to resume those 3 times a week classes. A lot of the ladies were glad to see me back. Felt good to get into the exercise routine again too. Could feel those thigh muscles getting a bit sore, as no matter how much work we do, and lord knows I do a lot of physical work especially in summer, there are always those areas that are never worked as much. So hopefully now that i am back at it again, it will motivate me to keep up my weight loss vow this winter.

Today I'm heading out into the great outdoor with my trusty leaf blower and gonna blow leaves out at a neighbors down the road. And I know the "fur kids" are going to want to take a nice walk today since they got a short one yesterday. Was over visiting with my cousins in the afternoon, so no long walk for them :( .

Think i finally found a good quality dog food that they both like, so now to go buy a bigger bag and empty my pocketbook in the process  Ms Tessa is still on antibiotics yet. No telling for how long. But at least I don't have to keep hauling her to the vet, just get some "liquid" from her and take that in instead

Well, gotta go check that GTG thread and see what y'all been up to. And take a run through General Talk and see what's new. So everybody have a nice day out there. Be talking to ya later.

Good.morning all. having a great time at the gtg. I LOVE this camping and although it is big, I love our 5th wheel. Sitting outside watcing the deer feed, the boats on the lake, and a lot of our ladies heading for the Saturday market in Wimberley. It is so.beautiful and quiet. Oh and the sun is struggling to peak through the clouds. I'm so comfortable oustside in my rocker that I haven't gone inside to make coffee. Just so.peaceful and quiet. I'm planning to put :P my kayak in the water and.explore the lake a.bit.this afternoon. Hope y'all have a wonderful day and stay safe :P :P

Tyler looks so regal. I think he has figured out the RV traveling dog thing pretty well. I think you have figured out the sitting out and enjoying the beauty of your surroundings and not having to "run around" part of the RV'ing life....

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

It dawned at just a tad above freezing here, 33 degrees, with some light snow coming down but not sticking at all yet. I'm not sure where that latest Atlantic storm, due to hit up here as a Nor'easter is and when it might get here. Will have to go online to intellicast weather when I am finished here. Hope we don't have to delay our departure date tomorrow to a later one.

I need to begin putting stuff into the "stow" positions, make room for Kathy's bags and things, put last minute things in truck bed, hitch up, and be ready for an early morning take-off tomorrow. I am aiming for New Milford, PA, Flying J by tomorrow night, via I route 81...about 250 miles.

Got last laundry done here yesterday while watching Orion, and expect Kathy to get here shortly after noon. I am looking forward to getting back down to some sunshiny, warm weather!

Love the pics of your deer and Tyler, Red! It looks like a neat campsite! It doesn't look anything like the TX terrain of my mind-----much nicer!

Off I go until departure day tomorrow morning. Then it'll be touch and go each day as I find WiFi, or not.

Don't forget to set clocks back tonight y'all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning to All - watching the sun come up over the desert - never get tired of that. I love the desert and the wide open spaces.
Have hot coffee but the cook is still asleep so nothing to eat except grapes.
We did a few errands yesterday - got all our Mexican insurance for both the jeep and the RV -
Went to WalMart and got a few things on our list. We cross one thing out and seems like we add two more. Today we'll go to Green Valley and go to a jewelers and get a watch battery for me and to Verizon to see if we can put the Mifi on vacation suspension - hate to pay for it for months without being able to use it. And see about their Mexican plan.
Started working on a simple beaded necklace project yesterday afternoon while watching the NASCAR truck race. Got it about half done. I brought several projects with me this year so I won't have to buy any beads in Mazatlan - ha.
Weather is great - but still cool at night. We'll probably be crossing the border Tuesday morning. Then to Hermosillo for a day or two then towards the Gulf of Cortez to Bahia de Kino for a few days then on down to San Carlos for a time. Places we haven't been for a couple of years.
Soos - hope you don't run into any problems on your trip south. Take care.
Everyone traveling stay safe.

good morning ladies
glad to see NYC is getting their power back little by little. Too bad theres another storm right behind this one, hope it doesn't amount to much,
maybe even just fizzle out and be nothing.
Somewhat of a routine day for me, laundry in the works right now but my washer isn't cycling properly so will have to see whats up with that.
It went through the wash cycle THREE times, and the spin didn't kick into its high speed mode. They still spun out but just not enough, stuff
seemed to be still pretty wet. I'll do some research and see what I learn in that dept.
Will also do some research on my car and see what I can do for repairs on that. First thing on the agenda for that is injector cleaner. Son tells
me that time my car broke down and he thought it was out of gas he put in about a halfgallon of his gas from the jug for his scooter and it
contained a tad amount of that 2cycle oil mixed in it before I stopped him and told him it was NOT out of gas, don't waste yours for me.
oil in my gastank, holey moley that could be a problem.
Lots of fun going on in Texas and soon Soos will be on the road to Florida.
Echo doesn't post anymore cause of some incident on Facebook, not sure what that was all about but she thinks she lost lots of friends from the
forum. Maybe she just needed a break until after the election is done.
Off to check more posts and do some catching up before I get dressed and get on with my day. Ya'll have a great Saturday, be safe, and if you have
to be naughty have fun at it. :D

Still morning here. I sat outside as well and ate my breakfast and enjoyed the buck that went by and watching the lake - then the @$^^%$#%^!@# ants started biting. I guess I dropped crumbs from breakfast. The clouds seem to be sticking around a little longer today. But I don't think we aer supposed to have rain until tomorrow - just in time for me to hook up and head home.

I didn't go shopping this morning but saving my energy for this afternoon. I'm going to cook 3 courses in the DO's for the gals here. I'm doing a beef and barley stew, cornbread and my infamous peach dump cake. And I know Dawn has her seafood chowder and Red has chili - even if no one else brought anything, we would have quite the meal.

Good Morning... oh Red that picture of Tyler is so peaceful... my wiggly Shadow would be barking at those 4 legged critters...
I agree with you Sue... our thoughts are with Irmi... this is the only way we have of reaching out to her... but they have a lot of work ahead before they can go on their winter journey...
Soos how fun it is to watch the little one... be sure to soak up some sun for all of us stuck in the cold... glad you have Skype so you can keep up with the little one...
It will only be a high of 48 here today...
Hope you all have a warm day

I am really glad of that extra hour tonight! Headed east to the Natchez Trace tomorrow morning from the GTG.

This IS a nice campground. I like the asphalt roads and paved spots, plus that they are long and wide enough, AND far enough apart. (Except, did anyone notice the tenters next to me last night with their at least 200 feet worth of strings of lights strung out behind me??) There is also a lot of grass around and wildlife to watch, plus the lake is in view.

I have some baby back ribs cooking for tonight--want to cook them long and slow, so I hope I don't overcook them. Have my barbecue sauce already made except for a squirt of hot sauce I need to add at the last minute. RV smells really good!

Trying to get caught up on some work because I have two long days of driving ahead of me starting tomorrow.

Soos, glad to read you are heading back down south. Take it easy and stay safe on your drive. Red, the photos are great. Cannot believe the deer so close in the campground.
