Oh Irmi, that's terrible. Unfortunately, you know the drill. It's best just to wait until the water recedes as you can't do anything until that happens.

All those in Sandy's path, the aftermath can be just as dangerous as the storm. Sometimes even more so. Be careful out there. Hugs to you all. Linda

Irmi, that just sucks! So sorry to see. I was without power here for 48 hours. Thankful to have the rv. Was able to transfer most of the food from the house out there and use the generator etc. still lost a good bit of food in the house. Cleaned out the fridge yesterday. Today I have to go haul all the food back in here. I'm very thankful that none of the trees out back decided to fall, as they would have destroyed my house if they had. It was pretty intense wild winds here Monday evening when the worst of the storm blew thru. Looks like the coastal areas took the brunt of the beating though.

I know shirlv doesn't post on here much anymore, but has anyone heard from her? Sure hope she made it out of harms way and that her property didn't suffer any damage either, as I know she is planning on putting it on the market come spring.

Mother Nature sure can pitch a fit when she has a mind to, can't she?

Paulette, I got a message from Shirlv and she spent the night of the storm with her children and she's ok.

I'm sorry you lost some of your food, but at least you had the motorhome. I'm so glad the trees stayed put and that you're ok.

My friend with our house key said the water in the front yard is beginning to recede and she may be able to go in the house today to see if we have power. Another friend is going to talk to the people in our county today to see if anything can be done so we don't have to live with this problem. We still don't plan on going back to MD until Saturday, but I'm sure we'll be living in the motorhome for the better part of a week, if not more, until the house is clean & dry.

I hope the water was out of your yard by the time you got home today. Keep us posted. Hopefully, it will not be as bad as last time. Thinking of you and Steve.
