Irmi, I'm so sorry you have to go through this again. Please be careful traveling back there; it's a good idea to wait a few days for waters to recede and hopefully have power restored.

So very sorry to see that flood in your house, Irmi! I know this is probally silly, but hope that it won't be as bad as last time! It looks like your house sits down in a little valley...never good in flood or rain prone areas. Mine does too, so before the house was set, Jack built an "island" for the house to sit on. The yard's flooded, but thankfully never the house.

Irma - so sorry to see the pics and hear of the flooding at your house. I am thankful however, that you were not there, and you are all physically okay. Please stay safe when trying to get back!

AWWWwwwww.... Irmi! How discouraging that must be for you two. I love your house, but I can't imagine how distressing it has to be to realize it's flooded all over again. That said, I am really glad you were away from it when it happened, and, as you said, hoping you wait to go back and tackle that mess when the power has been restored and the roads are more passable. Wish I were closer to lend a hand.

On another note, Ava, I love your new signature photo! You look so happy and so young with that beautiful little baby!

Oh, Irmi, I'm so sorry to see that. But I'm sure nothing like you and Steve are. Like the others, I hope the actual damage won't bed as bad as where our imaginations are taking us.

Irmi, I am so sorry to see your house like that. I cannot imagine what your thoughts are right now and the daunting task ahead of you and Steve. I too am glad you were not there at the time.

Irmi, I know all our minds went into overdrive trying to find a solution for you. You do have a lovely home but being flooded twice is almost too much to bear. Is there any possibility of taking out the bottom level, putting piers under second level much like a beach home. I wish we could all load up and come help you with this task.
