Gooooood Morning Sistahs!!!!

Yep the year is starting to get old again. Got to go to work today. But your right Barbz I am taking the whole weekend off. Good grief what a shocker that will be to my system having 2 days off in a row again so close together. It's all good. No....It's GREAT! :D

Had all kinds of plans to clean house yesterday. Only thing that got cleaned was the table! I was a lazy bum, finally got dressed and out of the house sometime between 3:30 and 4pm. Had to run to the bank and meet the landlord to pay rent. Thanked him muchly for the $25 gift card to Lowes, told him that it had come in really handy just in time too. Cause X-mas eve the toilet flow valve thing quit working so we were flushing with a water pitcher. Day after X-mas I was at Lowes picking up a new one. Kids did good!!! David tore the flow valve out of the tank and Kelly put the new one in herself and got the toilet working!!! Shocked the bejeebers out of her brother and he let her know how proud he was on her that she did it. Have to admit that it surprised the heck out of me that she did it. But then again she likes to pull things apart and put them back together.

30f out on my back porch this morning. While I was out there at 5:45 with Shade I thought I heard something and then thought I saw something in the air??? Yep, show/ice shower. Oh joy, gonna be fun going to work, people here just don't know how to handle it. ~sigh~ Need to get Kelly up so she can get around a few minutes earlier so I don't have to 70mph on the way to work. Roads might be a little slick and traffic slow. Ok, she's up now and in the shower. Ohhhhh, grumble, grumble!!! I had best get my butt in gearand get dressed, I will need to go start the Blazer to let it warm up to clean off the the windows. Yuck

Raising my coffee mug in salute to ya Barbz and to all the other Sistahs too. Yummmmm love the goodies, I'll grab me one of those cinnamon I just can't resist those. That little bluebird sure looks cheerful and happy for so early in the morning. Guess I should take lessons from him. Kelly too!

Hope everyone has a great day and remember to stay safe.

Love to all

I really needed that coffee Barbz. My DH got up early, drank all the coffee and then drove off into the sunrise to pick up his Mom in Tampa and take her to do blood test, and go find the Christmas present she REALLY wanted instead of the one she got. Ya gotta make them MILs happy. I cleaned yesterday, although looking around, I think a small windstorm snuck into the house while I was asleep. It's a good thing it's a very small house. :D

OK, off to get dressed for an early tennis date and then--don't know yet.

Everyone enjoy your 2nd day of 2009. carold

Well, here i am staggering into the kitchen Zeee,... i need coffee. :D And I am staggering for just lack of sleep, for no other reason. For some reason last night I was wide awake as in WIDE awake until nearly 3 a.m. Now why couldn't that have been the night before when i fell asleep and missed the ball drop. Guess I have to get back to work to regulate my system again. :o

So i think this a.m. I'll have my o.j. and my Total cereal and yeeeeesssssss,... my black coffee! Oooohhhhh does THAT taste good.

p.s.... that's a cute little guy playing that guitar,... must be a fast tune as he's a pickin and a grinnin so fast he's spinning around a losing his sunglasses!

Have a great day everyone!

good bluebird morning to all
just cheerful as can be here.........well I do try anyway, and most of the time I am
normally a cheery person. This holiday season has done taken a toll on all that rich
food I've been eating, yep, you guessed it, got a little gout in my toe.
Will run (drive really) to the Minute Clinic at Walgreens today and see if I can get
some medicine to cut those crystals in my blood. Never used a Minute Clinic before
but they are the new thing in healthcare these days and they accept most insurance.
Will go check it out as I have too many things to do and can't be layed up with a bad
foot.
My list that was 4 pages long of stuff to do before my sister got here is just about
done, last thing on there is washing the walls and I can get that done in an hour or so.
Cleaning a smaller place may be easy but I find ya have to do it MORE OFTEN.
Finally figured out how to make my dvd player work with my new tv. I really thought
my dvd player was broken, got it used couple years ago and just never tried it cause
my old tv didn't have the connections I needed. My new tv........found out after
hooking it up that I have to push input on my remote to get it to go into video 1,2 or
3. DVDs play on 3, so the good thing is I don't have to watch movies on my computer
anymore. Makes me want to try hooking up the vcr too.
The fresh coffee is ready, a little cinnamon toast and my banana with a few fresh
strawberries, and I'm set for breakfast. Only thing missing is a little yogurt. Will
need to pick some up next grocery trip.
Have a great day, sing with the bluebird of happiness and be safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's an even zero degrees F. here this morning, and looks like snow on and off. The chickadees and goldfinches are busily eating my sunflower seeds, which always amazes me that those tiny little bodies can move around in such coldness!

I will drive the kids to the airport this evening for a 5:45 pm flight back to Orlando. It sure has been a wonderful week with them here----just way too short. School will start for me again on Monday----very thankful to have this extra day off this year, as we usually have to be back the day after New Year's Day. I hope everyone has a happy day, doing something fun and getting out to move in the world.

Thanks for the coffee....I will add some French Vanilla creamer to mine, kick back in my lounger, and watch the late morning news. When it's this cold, I tend to burrow down into my sleeping bag and shut out the world-----IF I don't have to get up for work, but it shortens the day a lot when I don't get up until 8:00!!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

The little Bluebird of Happiness, is just what I needed this morning, he is so cute and just a singing away. I woke up to rain, sunshine is gone, so that little bird, was just the thing this morning. Made me smile couldn't help it. Need to go out to the store today, should have gone yesterday, wasn't raining. Now me and everything else will get wet. Oh well.

I have a list of things to do today, but I seem to make my list longer then the day is, or maybe I am slower then I thought, which ever   I should be busy.

I liked the little guy with the guitar, he sure has a lot of energy, wish some would rub off

Echo, I am so glad for you that you are going to have the whole week-end off, that seems a decent start to the New Year. Overtime is nice, but within reason, and I am glad you are going to have a rest. Have a good one !!!!

Have a great day everyone, take care and stay safe.

Thanks for the creamer. i don't drink a lot of coffee, so I could learn a whole new set of skills. And I really needed the help this morning. If it wasn't for the coffee here I would be thinking it was Saturday. I won't admit how ,ong I was searching for the Saturday greeting before it dawned on me why I wasn't finding one....... Blame it on the New Year's holiday. I kept thinking yesterday was Friday and correcting myself. Guess in the cold, I am a slow learner. The pups and I enjoyed our Therapy Dog visits yesterday. Herschel has been going for over two years so he has friends throughout the building and makes new ones as they come thru. He gets so much more attention and appreciation there than sitting next to my chair while I read, work or type on the computer. He gets his people fix and ears, back and belly rubs. Thanks again for the coffee and reminding me what day it is. Guess you can tell I am retired again! We are the ones who don't track our days as tight....that or is it just our memory skills.......I forget.

Morning ladies!
Love the bluebird of happiness. We all need one of those on our shoulders, huh?
Woke up this morning to......SNOW! I thought we were done! Well, it's not allot, just enough to freeze on some of the roads and make rush hour slippery. Mostly the surrounding areas are being flooded from the 18" we got over Christmas week.
My new weight loss program is going really well! I'm down almost 9#s since Dec 5th. They ask that we loose 2# a week, so I'm pretty much on track. This is one diet plan I can continue to follow as almost all of the foods we are allowed are the same ones I eat every day anyhow. What I really needed to learn was portion size. What I thought was going to be my biggest hurdle hasn't occured; sweets (chocolate). I have not craved any junk food, which I find amazing. We were asked to pick a word for the year to follow. I picked positive. Thinking/being positive is a wonderful exercise. Just try it for one day. No negativity toward yourself or others or the future. I also say 2 good things about myself, to myself, over and over every day.
Enjoy your day, everyone!

Note to self or New Year's resolution: don't ever skip a day reading the forum, or you'll be a week catching back up! I couldn't believe all the red circles when I logged on today. So, I'm off to start catching up.

Lenora, I'm with you on the positive thing - I attended a seminar "Attitude is Everything" years ago - got the man's book - and get his monthly emails - as well as I now am signed up for his weekly spriritual emails. And I'm a strong believer that attitude really is everything (or close to it) in our lives.

And that is proven by Zeee's bluebird and the response to it.

Well, my morning has flown by. My phone woke me today - my new micro/convection oven was in and they'd be coming to install this morning - and while here, they'd be reversing my fridge/freezer doors - that were put in the wrong way. So, I rushed Peaches and me through a walk and got back to wait. Wasn't long - faster than I could get to the forum! And here was the man to do the job. Well, it's a couple hours later, my old micro is back in it's spot, missing the trim, and my fridge is reconnected with the doors still going the wrong way :) I'm just a'sittin' here grinning. Yep, I could be upset, but it's not worth it - I do feel sorry for the guy sent to do it all - who was given all the wrong info. And I was right, when they installed my fridge, without remembering to the the door reversal kit, I said "wouldn't this be easier to do before installing" Guy who installed said, no problem. He owns the co. Today, was an employee here - and said Yep, would have been easier - looks like with where my fridge is located, they'll have to completely take it out to do the job - and that's a 2 person job.

As for the new micro/convection oven - well, they told him he'd have to cut the trim to make the space bigger. WRONG - Actually, the trim that comes around the new oven isn't as wide on the top and bottom - so now there is space showing LOL - so he's taking it back to the shop to make a new shelf and do what needs to be done so I don't have a "hole" in the wall.

I did tell him my next project is getting myself a new tv - and I was intending to completely remove my existing tv cabinet. He thought I was making the project much more difficult than necessary and gave me a couple ways to do what I want without removing the cabinet. Way kewl - Maybe next week I'll ask him what he'd charge me to do it. I have friends who would do it free - but I'm here and they are - well not here LOL - oh, just thought of someone here who would probably do it for me - need to talk to him. It's a little more than I can tackle, plus I don't have the tools.

OK, Peaches is thrilled to have the stranger out of her home LOL - sound asleep flat on her back now. And I'm going to go find some lunch.

Have a great day all!
Beth

Morning Zee,
Well been hanging around the house. Under the weather with the "crude". Never leave the house, but decided had to go Christmas shopping with Candi when she bought my Blackberry Curve for my xmas present. Wouldn't you know I caught some sort of germ and that dang thing just doesn't want to let go of me. Coughing my fool head off. Not running any fever so I think it is more sinus than anything else. Sure do wish it would go away. Tired of feeling lousy.
Get this. Was trying to vacuum with my wind tunnel and it is taking ALL I have in me to move it across the carpet, using both legs and both arms and my poor back. All of sudden, pains in both knees and twinges in back. Stopped immediately, went to the phone, called hubby and told him, "You been asking me what I want for Christmas for the last month, haven't had any idea, but now I know. I want a new vacuum cleaner. I want a Tyson Ball"-- went when he got off work and bought it for me. What a hell of a Christmas present, but it seems all my presents have to do with the house--pots and pans, coffee makers, toasters, etc. Hmmmm-- I believe I detect a pattern here.

Then it was also laundry day....so 2 hours there and I'm done for awhile....

Then Ernie & I went to get some more fishing tackle and a couple new crab traps, as the locals tell us that the blue crabs should start to run soon...Yes!!! Love to go crabbing as much as fishing.....

Now am shopping for a new mattress for the 5er....Hummmmmmmmmmm.....maybe I can get it thru the PX system....

Okay........going to go catch up with you all....

good evening. As ususal I was up and outa the coach before I had time to "Internet". The weather has been freaky warm today but about midnight a storm moves in for much colder temps and a little snow. We'll be in the snow zone all weekend but by next week will be back to milder temps.

To answer you question about a log house. They do have to be sprayed with a sealant about every 5 years (exterior only). Don't worry I won't be up on a ladder doing that. I'll hire it done. Once the inside is done you won't have to treat it for many years unless you want to change the stain color. We are going to keep the interior colors very light, no color just natural wood. Once I get it drafted to scale I'll take a photo of the plan and post it here.
