Welcome to the forum, and I shed a tear when I read about your fire and the loss of the boys. But I'm glad you found us ... a group of kindred spirits. We've all been where you are, so ask questions, share your fears, your victories and even your (ahem!) learning curve with your new rig. (Mine continue to this day).

In any event, welcome. Continue to post, comment on others' posts and otherwise let us get to you know and you, us.

I got to get away for (unfortunately) one night this weekend, since I could not get my wii to “work” and watch netfix, I watched some videos I have stored in the rv; one of them was The Long Long Trailer, my worst fear is going over a mountain and flying off it. Before I had another job come up, which got cancelled Fri evening, thus my one night trip, I had planned to go to Luray, VA I could have gone over Skyline Drive or around by way of Front Royal, I would have opted for Front Royal, as I recall, it would have still been a 2 lane road, but no chance of sailing into the bottom of the mountains.

That would be a nightmare, going off a mountain. Been way too many years since I've seen that movie.

Ha! That's a great movie to keep in the RV (the long, long trailer). I don't like driving mountains either although I'm not afraid of 'flying' off the road - more worried about making everyone mad behind me because I would be going so slow   I'm not familiar with the roads you mention, but I'd probably opt for the one that went 'around' rather than 'over'' too. Hope you had a good time once you got there. :D

WELCOME, PAT!

The fire sounded horrible, and, although it must have broken your heart, I am happy that you are still here and able to head out and explore.

Can't wait to get to know you and meet up with you somewhere out on the roads or campsites!

Happy travels!
