Not much of a cook here, but I love to eat. Does that count? LOL I'm ready for recipe and cranberry/chicken and anything else coming along.

Maybe I will be close enough to drive over more than once ;) I hope to be workamping somewhere down there. It would be ideal if I could workamp at that park :D :D :D

YES it sure would be fantastic, Linda! But we would settle for just visits if you can't work there! Put your name in now, as maybe when they see the huge list of us coming they might think they could use some temp help!

Oh I just love seeing all these "love to cook" ladies coming to this GTG !!! I cook but don't like too, only occasionally, might I enjoy it. So Ladies I'm glad you all are coming

I have one thing in mind for my offering, and wracking my brain for other choices to fix. :o Oh well, theres time , surely I can come up with something. If not I'll make a grocery run with Tina :D

This is growing into a fabulous GTG. Each yr. the Fl. GTG seems to keep growing, maybe because its sometimes warm down there ?? (last yr. we enjoyed warm weather, before we froze ) :P  but for sure its the ladies who attend that we all enjoy meeting and visiting, Each yr. I leave I know I will go the next yr., its not to be missed .

looking forward to meeting and seeing everyone, Maggie says she is too ,

To cut down on dishwashiing, you bringyour own plate, fork, knife and spoon, bring your own drinking cup. You eat take your stuff home to wash. Better to be green

Cans of whole cranberry, french dressing, onion soup and plenty of chicken thighs, drumsticks or breast for the cranberry chicken.

Last year Kathleen made an apple crisp that was so very good, sorry she won't be here to make another. At the Florida gathering we just roll with the flow and everything always works out. Amazing what we find in people's pantry to cook up. This gathering will be fun!!

Nan, I can make my square apple pie for this GTG since Kathleen won't be able to come.

I can't make it to this GTG, but after attending quite a few I can pretty well garantee that no one's going to go away hungry! I usually spend the whole time stuffed to the gills!!

I'm in site #44....almost afraid to post this for fear of jinxing it...I plan to be along the coast starting at Gulf Shores State Park from the end of Nov until the GTG. Anyone in the area let me know, we can have a mini GTG before the big one.

Dawn, if you like your apple pie, by all means make it - but don't do it to replace another apple dessert. Make whatever you want - or make nothing. That's the beauty of these gtg's. And you might think about making one thing, but when you go shopping find another fruit or ingredient you really want to try. I must admit, I usually pull out something I've never made before to try at gtg's. That's because I often don't make larger portions - so I save recipes I think look good to try then. And I know if it's no good and doesn't get eaten, there will be plenty of food with everything else - so far that hasn't happened, but hey, I'm realistic :)

For all of you who haven't attended one of the WRV gtg's before - don't stress on whether you'll have enough, what to bring, etc. We love to be laid back - and everyone fits in. Don't feel you have to cook if you don't like it- I promise there will be enough food. And if you forget a chair, someone else will have extra, etc etc. For those without cars, if around the fire in the evening, someone suggests and excursion during the day - don't feel left out. If you want to go, speak up - someone will have room in their car.

In other words - just go and have fun - and do what you like - participate in what you want - and don't stress about any of it.

That's my two cents - and it's what I love about our gtg's.

Great words of wisdom, Beth.
I'm among the few who do not cook much anymore and will be without my van for the first time but in my own RV for a change. Like BJ, will rely on Tina to get me to a store and will gladly contribute to whatever food someone else is skillful and generous enough to cook.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

From the look of Nan's and Liz's posts recently...I think we may have a whole fleet of Honda Fits flittering around in FL this winter. 8-) Mine will be the one with more than its share of dog hair and a kayak in the way back..... :)

Beth, I love to cook and try new recipes all the time. It may very well be that everyone at the GTG gets to be a taste tester.  I won't stress about the meals. From what you said, I will make my normal menus for the week and just take whatever I have scheduled to cook for that day to any pot lucks.

After all that eating we're going to do, I think we all better walk. I'll lead the hikes. I'm sure Stuart will be glad to help too.

Beth you are right, just roll with the flow. We never know where the river will flow to but if the kayak fits we will float on it. That is what is fun about having a very unplanned gathering, if you cook it, we eat it, if you suggest it, somebody will love to be part of it. So bring those new recipes, try them on us. I have learned great cooking at some of the gatherings..
