Quiet Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Quiet Monday

Postby Dawn309 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:46 am

It seems it is a very quiet Monday for all of us. I know Barb Zeee is working on getting ready to leave for FL tomorrow, so I imagine she is really busy this morning.

Red is probably taking Tyler for his morning walk and Soos may already be on her way south.

It's quiet here this morning. The dogs let me sleep until 8 this morning. Started waking up about 5:45, but kept drifting back to sleep. By 8, could not ignore Rascal anymore. He was definitely sitting right beside me and staring at me. Got up and they all jumped up ready to go out. Mom's doors were still closed so we tried to be as quiet as we could be getting 3 dogs out the door. In other words, not too quiet! When we came back in, I could hear her talking to her dog, Bitsy. She was getting up too. Belle kept scratching on her doors. Belle does not like closed doors and she wanted everyone up.  After all, it was morning treat time. She is VERY vocal about treat times.

Will be going to office today when I go to do laundry to extend for another week. We are finally scheduled to get Mom's Jeep ready to tow this week. Hurray! I am definitely getting hitch itch and am ready to start making our way south toward the TX GTG. Doesn't look like there will be time to make it to the dealership to have the row of lights not working fixed. Oh well, have to come back up this way after the Boot Camp because Mom has a doctor's appointment on Dec 5th. Will look at getting it done then and also my BooBoo if I don't find someone to fix that in Livingston at the Boot Camp. My classy Duct Tape seems to be working at keeping the rip from getting worse so far.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

good morning ladies
I was up as usual but the girls slept in. Not sure what I'm going to get done today, feel a migraine coming on so will probably catch a nap if
pills don't work. We will see, usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes for me to know if the pills are kickin butt. Guess I will have to put a
valance up on bedroom window as the angle of the sun this time of year is different than summer. Makes it too bright in here now. I'm
excited for all of you getting ready for gtg and hitting the road. But my turn is coming, course not real soon, but it will happen.
Better get in the kitchen and get something to eat, gotta make sure that medicine settles and doesn't make things worse. Everybody have a
great day and be safe.

I'm sitting at my RV place waiting for them to install the hitch and braking system for my new-to-me Honda Fit. Later, a nervous me will tow it back to McIntosh.

Stopped at Walmart on my way here for Fire Ant killer for my campsite. Little meanies moved in big time while it was vacant all summer. I already treated it once, but it needs more. I'm staying in a different site until I can knock them down a bit.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Good morning all, hope you are off to a good start today.
We went over to Wickham Park for our breakfast camp today
(see I am already in the camp mod). Stopped at the office
to see when the campground will open back up...not until
after Thanksgiving ...bummer I wanted to go do a shake down
trip. Not sure what this afternoon will bring... looks like rain

Good morning gals!

Red, so sorry to hear about your cousin. Always tough to lose a cherished member of the family. Sounds like he has had a good, full, happy life tho.

Just sitting here with Angel sleeping next to me on the loveseat. A beautiful day here today with sunny skies and upper 60's predicted. I have the day off and was thinking about playing some golf but I wrenched my wrist the other day and it is still sore, so probably not a good idea to exert it with a golf club!

We had a haircut sale this weekend and I did really great on tips, selling product and my haircut times! I'm starting to get a lot more requests now too.

Went out to eat with my dad last night. He sure is looking so much older and more feeble now. It is sad to see him like that. My brother came in the shop on Saturday for a haircut and he said he has noticed that my dad's memory is getting a lot worse lately. I know he has good days and bad days with that. I am glad I am back here now for him.

I am taking my car in on Thursday to our family mechanic to get it all checked over before winter. Will feel better once that is done. Haven't had it looked at since before I left California.

Nothing too much planned today. Still have some little things to put away around here but it is definately looking much better and more "homey"! Maybe I will upload and post some pics on here later.

Hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Quiet day here, also. I went to the Desert Botanical Gardens yesterday and had a great time. I kind of alternate sightseeing days with rest and work days, so today I will continue work on my cabinet railing project and on getting some papers graded a bit early.

AC had a rought time getting this place cool yesterday. I got back and set up about 2:30 pm, and it was hot, maybe 90, but it did not get down to below 84 in here until the sun set. One whole side (not the awning side) is facing the sun, which probably makes a difference and there is no shade. Anyway, today I have it going early and hoping that makes a difference. Hate the heat, but at least it is below the triple digits here that were prevalent for the last few weeks.

Will post photos of my railings, assuming I can get them stained and glued in place today.

Also, I am really getting tired of the dust and dirt in this place. It just seems to come back so fast. I am tossing the entrance rug I have and getting something in cotton or similar that will not just collect and hide the dust as I come in. I do take my shoes off, but the floor and edges of things just get really dirty, and I cannot stand it! I will do more wiping down today and maybe get the vacuum out for the carpeted area.

Hi ladies!

We left the eastern shore of MD this morning and are spending the next couple of weeks in NC. A girlfriend is staying at the house and using our vehicles, to keep them running while we are gone. The weather on the road was iffy, with showers off and on the last 100 miles or so. Right now, it's dry. warm & humid. I was ready for a change of scenery, and this will hold me until we leave for the winter in FL.

Yesterday was Dad's 82nd birthday. He spent the night before that in the hospital for what was thought to be a minor stroke, but all the tests came back fine. Barbie's Dad sounds a lot like mine, showing his age and getting very frail. It's sad watching my parents age, but at least, with lots of help, they can still live in their own home.

I hope those on the road are safe, those at home are doing ok, too. For those with problems, I keep all of you in my thoughts.

Welcome to Arizona, Judy!! I am a horrid housekeeper. My late DH used to vacuum and dust while I did laundry so I was spoiled.

To those of you with aging parent issues, my heart goes out to you - know it can't be easy.

Liz, I'm glad you are in familiar territory for your first tow, but I'm sure you will do fine!

Slow morning start but I did vacuum - other than dishes when the water is hot, that is probably it for me in the chore department today. We left a phone message for a man who washes and waxes rigs - something I would have never paid for in years past!

Hope all are having a good day - it's nice to be able to keep up with more posts than I was able to on the road.

Not much going on here either. We had a front come through yesterday that was suppose to be a cold front. Can't say it's much cooler because it's in the mid 80's. Didn't do much this weekend. The cattle festival was going on but since our club doesn't have a booth to work anymore I seldom go. My friends were wanting me to go to the parade with them but that's too much fun for me. I went to Sears instead. Didn't really feel like doing anything else but made myself stop a Ross's. Good thing I did, found a pair of shoes my sister likes. Yesterday I made a funnel cake for breakfast so I wouldn't be tempted to go to the street fair for one.

Liz, hope you get rid of your ants. I remember how much of a problem they were in Arkansas. I think my ant poison got taken out of my motorhome. Need to replace it in case I run into anymore. My DH has been spraying the hills in the yard and now we have dead spots in the yard. I'm thinking he used the Roundup sprayer instead of the ant poison.

Judy, I keep one of the green artificial turf door mats in my motorhome. Not real pretty but it catches a lot of dirt and is easy to shake out. Sometimes I put it on the ground but I have been know to go off and leave it.

One of the cabinet hinges in my motorhome broke and I took it off to see if I could order one like it. It's kind of strange looking so don't know if I can find one like it. I noticed that a plate spacer under the hinge is what broke so used some washers to try to fix it. Got it put back up so will have to see if that is going to work.

I unloaded a bunch of stuff when we went to Florida this summer so need to see what needs to be reloaded for our trip to Texas. Knowing me I will put everything off until the last minute. Still trying to decide what food to bring.

Good afternoon to all!

I typed a message a while ago on my old computer out in the trailer, lost it as I was copying it prior to sending it, and then couldn't get anywhere on this site! No wonder I used to hate to use my computer----I had forgotten just how slow and archaic and useless that one is! And it makes me log on about 20 times each time I try to read or type in here. ACK! What a treat it is to get back on this new laptop.

It was up to about 64 degrees here this morning, with a wicked wind, but it has now dropped to 55 degrees. It's been grey, damp, and windy all day so far.

My friend, kathy, who will travel with me to FL in a week or so, is back from her cruise, and we will plan to leave here in about a week after I go back home, pick her up, pick up some things I mistakenly left there, come back here and pack for the road.

I hope you all are having a good mid-October day, and that something fun will keep you laughing, even despite the sadness and hardships some are suffering.

Mandy should be back from school by about 6:00 at the latest. Joe has gone deer hunting up into their woods behind the house with his black powder rifle. Orion and I are minding the house and the dogs. :)

 LOL Soos! & all other ladies. I was on this site early this a.m., evidently the first to be writing on this Monday morning--then accidently hit a key that erased my entire message! SO, crappa, Soos, I know how it feels  I gave -p, as I'm visiting with my friend, & did not want to take any more personal time away from her...Now here it is, technically closer to Tewsday than to Monday morning! However, I did want to send my heartfelt condolences to ya Red--what an amazing man, to overcome adversity, live a stellar life,.... & someone ya will certainly miss....With that, I'll now wait til tomorrow to get on track, however I'll be leaving IN at noon or so for the 4-5 hr trip to my sis's in IL. Notre Dame won the game in overtime!!! Been having a great time....Good night all! ;)
