More to do in Near Deming, NM

Okay, about 50 miles east of here near Las Cruses is a little town of Mesilla, NM.....We've been there many times when we were stationed at Ft: Bliss, TX (El Paso), but since that's where Ernie retired from and we moved to PA, we hadn't been back in 20 yrs. There is the old part of Mesilla that is full of history, shops, and great places to eat....So after doing our morning stuff here and taking Spinner out for a long walk, we took off....only took about 45 minutes going 75 on I-10 east... I've arranged them from points of interest, buildings, and signs to photos of our favorite restaurant, The Double Eagle....plus a pretty outside piece of artwork. Again, it's a little long...... Okay, here we go.....Enjoy!!!! :D

Thanks Lori, love the Double Eagle restaurant! Their food is soooo good!

I love Old Mesilla - need to go back one day - and haven't eaten at that restaurant, so guess with you, Ernie and Sharon recommending it, will have to do that, also :)

We love that area and if the air wasn't so dry, I'd consider moving to Las Cruces. We've been to the Double Eagle for our anniversary and love Mesilla. Thanks for the return trip. carold

I love the southwest. I have a good friend in Cloudcroft...one of my first RV trips was to Rio Doso where she met me and we played a few days. I hope to explore more of New Mexico next year. Great pictures!

Lori, thanks for the pictures. I remember when we were stationed at Ft. Bliss, we used to go stay with friends who lived in Organ, NM. My Dad mostly worked at the missle range out there, so we stayed in a very small TT in Organ when we first got to Ft. Bliss. Later on, got base housing and moved to Ft. Bliss. Have a lot of great memories of that area of NM.
