Welcome to the forum. Several of the ladies on here started out with only wishes and dreams and are now living the good life with their very own RV.

Thank you, retiredhappy, for your welcome. It is heartening to know others started out the way I am doing....wishing and eventually their dreams came true. Sweet!!! Each day is so important, as that life-clock keeps ticking away. This coming March, I will be 70 years young; so, I know the possibility of my being a single, older woman on the open road brings its challenges that appear to get bigger with each passing day The wishing remains exciting. Welcome, welcome. You found the best group of women with a wonderful sense of adventure, compassion and sense of humor. Some are currently living the RV life style now, some are not. Some are in between. Since I joined in May I have read the excitement, joy and yes, fear as several ladies started as looking loos and suddenly, SURPRISE!!!!, they are showing off their new (or new to them) RV. I joined this forum last May. I have dreamed of the RV lifestyle for a long time and thought about doing it solo. Looked on Internet to see if there are any women out there RVing solo. Wow, yes, there are and what a wonderful group it is. I was planning to go to the TX gtg and stay in a tent. But, then things changed and SURPRISE!!!, we got a new RV and I am now feeling like I'm in kindergarten trying to figure everything out. These ladies have been such a great support. So, again, welcome...with or without an RV.

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on making it through a teaching career whole and moving on to retirement. Many important things in life begin with a dream and then moving one foot after another as you chase it down.... Read and research and share your questions and concerns and laughter and tears....it is all part of the journey. Also feel free to join any of the GTG with or without a rig of your own. Just ask Sarah how many she attended before she jumped. The forum is about the spirit of exploring lives and lands and possibilities....each creating our own road map as we proceed in uncharted territory.

I am now going into my 2nd year of not being in the classroom. I thought it would be hard ...the not being in the classroom; but, no...I am enjoying getting up without the alarm clock, not having to grade reams of papers. But, I do miss the students and their parents Question: what does GTG stand for? I gather it is meeting up with folks I like your philosophy: we each create our own journeys .... I agree. Welcome..we are always excited to have a new member..like the other's said, you certainly don't have to own an RV...in fact when you start serious shopping we like to get in on it...Be careful what you ask for, like advice, you will get plenty of it..Come on it and start having fun..soon you won't be able to start your day without 'WRV..

Welcome, Wishing! Do you have a name other than wishing? Makes it a little more "homey". Of course you're welcome! Most of the ladies started out with dreams and wishes and are now living the dream. It can be done cheaply if you know how.

Where are you on the left coast? There's a few of us out there in no-man's land... we're always ready to gtg for coffee or dinner. Evie (Pooker) and I do a dinner and casino run about once a month, usually down to the Escondido area.

Is California considered no-man's land Sorry I won't be making that casino run with you and Evie, as Escondido is in southern CA , 440 miles from me and a 7 hour drive. LOL! I only call it "no mans land" 'cause there aren't very many of us on the left coast. So sorry you're so far north of me, Evie and I don't get together very often, but we make up for lost time when we do. We would have loved to have you join us. But we'll be sure and let you know if we head north on a trip!

You are so Welcome here , Wishing. No R.V. Needed. Desire and common interest, and sounds like you've met those requirements . This group is the best ever. Ask anything you want, you will get plenty of responses Have a problem or need a place to vent, you will find others who know just how you feel and most of all there will always be someone who will be watching your back. You will never really be alone in your dream, encouragement and friendship are all in abundance here.

Tina, says it all so much better then I, But I had to pipe in on, having an R.V. Is not a requirement, just the dream and wishing for the lifestyle is all that counts.

You and others who have posted have really made me feel at home and I am glad to know having an rv is not a prerequisite for membership in the forum I would really like going to a GTG. Spent a few weeks in Tahlequah OK, east of Tulsa, at the Cherokee Nation Capital. I am part Cherokee, so it was an interesting way of learning about my ancestors

Welcome, Wishing! The dream is what brought you here, and hopefully we'll be able to help you make your own decisions on if you want to rv or not.

I stumbled into living my dream scared and excited and BROKE - doing this all on a shoestring to this day. And while I do what I can mechanically - for most, it means spending the bucks and staying broke. But happy and broke

Hi Cathy, and WELCOME to the fold! I, too, am a retired teacher living on a modest SS check and an even modester (see what a good teacher I am? ) retirement check each month! As I took 10 years off in the middle of my career to raise my kids to school age, I had to retire as a teaching assistant rather than as a full-time teacher with a grad degree. Hence, my retirement check is shameful!

Nice to meet you, and I think you will find a lot of great advice here with this group of fantastic ladies!

Hello and Welcome. I also do not have my RV as yet. I do know which one I want and I plan to order it the beginning of the year but for now I am dreaming right along with you. This group has so much to teach that you will have all the info you need to make the right decision for you. Hope to hear more about your dream as time goes by.
