Dish TV tailgater

Dish TV tailgater

Do any of you have this? I am looking for something easier to haul around than the clunky satellite dish and tripod, but am not going to fork out the money for a roof mount.

No...but looks interesting. So far I have done well without consistent TV but if I were to travel for longer and longer times I might break down and think I need something.... :)

I saw that recently at someone's site. Nan has one similar, but different brand, I believe - if she doesn't see this, send her a pm and ask her about it.

Me, I haven't had tv in so long, hooked it up yesterday and have had it on (not many stations) watching the most useless junk. LOL But I enjoyed watching The Voice last night and will watch it again tonight. See how quickly I can become a tv junkie all over again. It's sad, really, really sad.

I haven't taken satellite dish with me the last two summers, but if I am going to be moving around again in the winters, I want it.

Have discovered this isn't going to work - can't record with it which is how I watch most of my TV so I can flip through commercials.

Thanks for the responses!

I have a VuQube. It looks just like that but sounds like it hooks up a little different. I have Direct tv at home so I just take a receiver from home with me. You can also use the VuQube for Dish. I can't get mine to work hooking it up to the outside connection so have to run the cord through a window. Other than that I really like it. I tried the dish on a tripod a few times and gave up on that. That will make you lose your religion.

My motorhome has a dome satellite too but some campgrounds have too many trees.

Martha, can you watch one show and record another at the same time?

I have Vu Cube. It will work with either the Dish system or Direct. I have a remote so can stand inside and roam the finder until I lock onto a signal. The Box itself is what determines whether you can record or not. I am thinking about upgrading to my box. Since I have the dish system they will assist me with getting a box that I want that will work with the satelite system I have. But I would not buy a stationary system because if you are parked under trees the satelite is much harder to connect to or sometimes not available. This one can be moved out to an open space and used. This cube is very light weight and can be picked up with one hand.

The other thing I have done is upgrade my antenna for the motorhome. I have a HD antenna and get a lot of channels. You can buy the bar that attaches to your antenna to make yours an HD.

Thanks for the Vu Cube info, Nan. That is next on my list to research. The Tailgater only works with one receiver.

Nan's sounds like her's is a little different from mine. I have been having mine for a few years. I don't know about recording because I have an old box that doesn't record. I think I can only use one receiver with mine.
