Tuesday with Clouds

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday with Clouds

Postby Colliemom » Tue Oct 09, 2012 7:04 am

Good Morning from the 45th,

Can't believe I"m the first one in the kitchen this morning. Barbzee must be sleeping in and so is Carolb. Course Barbzee has Ms. Reba to take care of too.

Well, i have bacon, eggs and sausage in the fridge as well as fresh ground chuck and cottage cheese for those of us on the protein thing, so help yourself and there's bread for toast too.

We returned from the U.P. on Sunday afternoon, although I left my heart up in that beautiful country. Even the "girls" didn't want to leave. They watched me load up and were very reluctant to get in the wagon as they knew what was going on. Tessa just stayed by the unit door, so I had to go get her and walk her over to the ramp to get in. Usually they just hit the thing and in they go, but not this time. Didn't want to come back to their boring backyard and my getting busy around here. Can't blame them. I would rather have stayed up there too. But we had a great week, some spectacular color, put olmost 1,000 miles on the wagon and even went from fall to winter on Saturday. Coming home felt like a step back in time as areas here are still nearing their peak colors yet. Was a nice drive till I got to the Mackinaw Bridge and then ran into lake effect rain showers all the way home. Plus a lot of traffic, so it was not much fun driving. And it turned to rain/snow when we got near home due to the high elevation and even plain wet snow at home. Didn't do anything though. Will post pictures as soon as I get time to fight with Photobucket this week.

Spent some time last night catching up with this weeks "Morning Coffee" and "Campfire". Sure been a lot going on. Read up on all the going ons, sick dogs, travels and adventures etc. Boy, miss a week and you miss a lifetime almost. Glad to hear that the sick critters are getting better. Dawn, sounds like things are improving with your mom and you are getting your repairs lined up, Carolinangel, sorry it didn't work out with your friend. I too think she owes you an explanation at least, but it's over and done with, so time to move on. Ali, good to see you posting again. Sounds like you are enjoying it in Branson and can stay for awhile yet. Barbie, I think about you every time I hear about those gas prices in CA and am so grateful that you decided to go back home. You would have been miserable out there, between the crazy roomates, shifting between shops and then gas would have been too expensive for you to go anyplace. You are so much better off where you are now. Sounds like a match made in heaven. And Red is off to new adventures with a new rig. Happy Dance there. Lori and Ernie are basking in NM it seems. Oh gosh, can't keep up with everybody on here.

I"m happy to report that Ms. Tessa is greatly improved over our last visit. We took her off the antibiotics all last week to give her a chance for her tummy to heal up and get her appetite back. She was on some other meds for that with no problem. Latest tests are showing everything is almost back to normal, so now she is back on Tetracycline, but on half the dose she was on before. If she stops eating again, I am to totally stop it. Hopefully we will be able to stop all meds down the line here after her vet determines things are okay, with the exception of estrogen which she will probablybe on the rest of her life. So now I am searching for a new dry dog food for both of them, as they are kind of turned off the Kibbles and Bits which they were chomping down these past few months. Too much same old.

Looks like rain shower moving in here later today. I"ve got some outside work to do, but it will have to wait. Did do the final grass cutting yesterday, so now it's waiting for the leaves to all fall off and then out with the blower and clean them all up. Need to redo my fence gate, so that might be on today's agenda.

Guess I had better get rolling around here. You all have a wonderful day out there.

Good Morning Sue and everyone else... glad you had a nice trip... I love the UP... wanted to get that way this summer but as you know I headed home instead... the cost of gas stops me from doing all I want... I hope Tessa continues to improve...
I am so glad to have my car back... I will go to the grocery store today... my list is endless as I have not been in a month... while I am out I will put my application in at Cottage a senior apartments building... that is the one I like best... it like the others has a list of people enough to put a move in date down the road at least two years...
If things go like I would like them to I will go south next winter... time will tell...
My son and his family may come for Christmas... that will be great... normally I am not around then...
Our weather is mild again...
I trust you all will have a good day

Good morning Colliemom, Dayspring and all to follow. Glad to hear Tess is doing better. Glad you had a good vacation. The UP sounds wonderful. Hope I get there some day.

Well, I guess I am an official RVer. I successfully emptied the gray and black tanks and flushed them out :P No story to tell this time :P Still want to go to boot camp cuz I know I have so much more to learn. DH even wants to go now. :P

Left MS and made it 1/2 way home. We spent the night at Coushatta Casino RV park in LA. Very nice and half the price as the other run down RV "resorts" we stayed at in MS. Got get up and get ready to hit the road. Hope to get home in time to get Tyler out of dogie jail.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe if you are on the road. Aloha, y'all

Morning all! Sounds like lots going on. Sue - I'm hoping next year I hit at least part of the UP. I did a presentation for the cousins Saturday night and everyone is excited about coming to MI - especially the cooler temps! I warned them it was 90 a couple of days I was there :o :o :o .

The Land Dinghy is going in for an axle flip today. I hope it stops the dragging just getting out of the driveway and a lot of other drives. It had better be done by next Wednesday as we are leaving Thursday for the great Dutch Oven gathering. I hope to learn some new recipes next weekend that I can try out at the TX GTG.

Good Morning All. Sun is shinning here and it will be a little warmer today - mid 60s. Bill just fixed breakfast, egg beaters, summer sausage, peppers and onions. good and filling.
Later today we'll go pick up Jennie and then start all the unloading and loading. Switching stuff from one RV to the other. Also have to register Jennie here in Indiana - was registered in Nevada.
So while waiting for medical ins stuff and license plate for Jennie to arrive we'll have plenty of time to get ready. I just wish I could remember where everything goes in Jennie - was dreaming about where to put the dishes last night.
Think we've got all our medications ready for a six month trip. Spent yesterday a.m. counting Bill's pills to make sure. He says he feels like a freak since the heart attack-bypass that has him taking pills. Never had any medical problems or medications before that.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable day and for those traveling safe driving.

Good morning! :D Happy dance! Ms Reba, & now Tessa making a recovery! Now, I read something of a kitty seizing (posted on GT???). Wow, that seems to be too common these days :( I've been told of the northern Lake Michigan area, & will need to add that to my list of places to go! Yes, very pretty fall--colors peaking here, yet many leaves knocked off by rain over the weekend. Hoping to find peak color in the midwest. I'm leaving here the 11th for approx 8-10 days. Notre Dame football game this Sat with friends, then a visit to my sis's farm in IL--she's the one who lit the fire for my getting an RV. This will be the first time she gets to meet my HarBor! Will try for contact with BJ, however, I'm thinking her new Toby Tyler won't let her go  He's "The Boss," eh, BJ???? ALSO, I finished the "Ella" book--easy reading, comical, yet deep! (& I did it! Did not even get close to employing a certain letter in this post!!! Yet, that's why I intentionally avoided opening the conversation this morning--what day is this???? ) Hope y'all have a lovely day, be happy & be safe!

Good Morning all

After 3 days of cold, wet, gloomy days the sun is to return today!!!! Dense fog warning in effect until around 10:00 AM but should be a nice afternoon. I so hope this early cold snap is not indicative of an unusually cold winter.

Think VickieP and I must have fallen into the same time warp over weekend. She on day light savings time end, me not knowing yesterday was a holiday. Normally I wouldn't care but there were several things I needed to do yesterday - all involving places that were closed for the holiday like bank, DMV, PO, and and such.

I thought it was a bit strange that the campground was so full Sunday when I went back to empty Magic's fridge. Didn't find out about holiday until late Sunday night. When I emptied freezer noticed there was a good deal of frost build up. Need to get back down there this week to defrost and clean up all the dog hair Nicky left behind. Also need to try the heater again. Ran it just few minutes Sunday - it is still setting off alarms within 5 minutes of turning it on even with the door open.

Wishing all a good day.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It's kinda dreary here again today. It's been lightly raining off and on for the past 3 days, so while it can be dreary at least the chance of rain is a lot less today. I'm really glad cause I'm sure tired of the rain. When I first started looking into moving to TN in '94', I read in one of the articles/books that I had that northeast TN and the Smokies were second to the state of Washington in rain fall. So we have somewhat of the tropical rain forest feel here too.

Went to Dollywood yesterday and got a questionnaire for the Safety Lady. Stopped in at the clinic to double check on my appointment. HA! Found out that no one had recorded the appt. in the computer so had to make one. Today I have an appointment with the physical therapist for my thumb. That ought to be fun! Bet I come home wanting to cry! My thumb is so freaking sore that it's not funny. It's sore enough that it has changed how I type and hit the space bar.

Am walking careful and slow today. Took a fall last night when I took Shade out to P. Thankfully I did not fall going out of the trailer but I did fall in the drive. I turned around and tripped over the fire ring and basically headed face first into the rocks. I landed on my knees, belly, forearms and hands with my nose about 2 inches from the rocks. The palm of my right hand and my sore thumb hurt badly this morning and my knees are letting me know that they are in no way impressed or happy with me. They are bruised to all get out and scraped up with some skin still hanging loose. ~sigh~ Just call me Grace!

OK, enough. Gonna go read and see what ya'll have been up to. Hope everyone has a good day, has fun, is productive and safe!!!!

Love to all

Hey Carolb! Could always spell it 2sday!!! Or even Toosday.....

Good morning from humid, rainy Florida.

I'm sitting at the Ford dealership in Ocala, having work done on my RV. Getting the AC/ heat duct problem fixed....air only came out by the windshield. Also oil change, tire rotation, brakes checked. While waiting I test drove a Ford Fiesta as a possible tow vehicle, but have about decided I will get a Honda Fit. Now to find the right deal. There are several out there, so not worried about finding one.

Will meet a local friend tonight for dinner and park in her drive overnight. Then tomorrow will head to dd's to get my mail and stuff out of storage at her house. Will need to go through that stuff and make a trip to Goodwill to drop off most of it. Haven't missed anything all summer, so guess I don't need to keep it.

I'm looking forward to getting settled in my site in McIntosh and staying put a little while.

Hope everyone has a productive day.

I picked up my new computer glasses yesterday (hurrah! no more burning eyeballs! :D ), so today I'm helping an old friend experiment with a hand-me-down computer. We'll see if we can make it work.

The William is insisting that we spend part of the day outdoors, because the weather is beautiful. Since I agree, he'll get his way. Good dog!

Gracious, I love fall!

Still morning here in rainy, cold home place. I have person coming to fix well, have a call put in to repairman for few things need fixed in the house AND have called finally and made my reservations for Fl GTG. Now onward with clearing clutter. Think another run to dump is in order, doesn't take long to pile up :o

glad you got into get service done so quickly , Liz. hope the clearing of the storage goes as well.

Echo, so sorry to hear about your fall, not a good thing to happen. I found the best thing to do is keep moving, as long as nothing is broken, hope pain will soon pass. Take care.

Sue, your wk sounds wonderful, and you sound rested and ready to tackle anything and everything. So glad to hear your fur baby is doing better .

So many fur babies not feeling their best, I really hate to hear, hope all are better soon.

I agree, Sarah, sure hoping this very early cold spell, doesn't mean another bad winter. I'm hoping to have Thanksgiving in west Tn. Before going on down south.

Noon, time to go, have a great day everyone. Whatever your day brings, stay safe, but enjoy each minute.

CArol :)

Good Morning from Cottonwood, Arizona...

In a full hookup site!! I have had enough boondocking for awhile - especially in spots that weren't exactly scenic.

The summer journey is nearly over. We will be here until the 21st, then will go to Salome to get LeRoy's truck to come and get my 5er out of storage. Like Liz, I am ready to sit still for awhile after the Alaska adventure.

Sue, I understand the reluctance to leave the UP - such a beautiful place. Looking forward to getting back there one day.

Echo, be careful. I took a tumble on loose rocks while hiking in Yellowstone twisting a knee. Thought I was doing pretty well until after I hiked in Nevada the other day. Another reason to be off the road so I can heal - the cleaning will wait a day or two.

Several new rigs and adventures coming up for those on here - enjoy!!

Afternoon everyone. I am just now getting around to reading all the posts and have just worked my way up to the Morning Coffee. Have extended a week at the CG we are at. Still waiting on call from CW that they have the towing equipment in that Mom ordered and have set us up an appointment. We have not been out and about much because it has been so cold and windy today. The thermometer says it's 67 right now, but the wind is really gusting, so makes it feel colder than that. I slept really late for me this morning. Woke up at 5:45, looked at the clock and decided to just turn back over. Slept until just after 8. Must have been that kind of morning because Mom slept until almost 10.

Was really glad to read that Tessa was doing so much better right along with Ms. Reba. We do love our fur babies.

Echo, be sure and take care of yourself. Your body does not need any more trauma.

I am so ready to start heading south to the TX GTG, but looks like it's still going to be a week or two before I can head that way. May have to do the Hill Country on the way back up here from the Boot Camp. We have to be back in Weatherford area the first of December as both Mom and Paul have doctor's appointments. Right after that, we will be heading out for MS to spend a month with my other brother and his wife, then on to FL. Cannot wait.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

I just got back from Lafayette. Had an appointment with my dermatologist. Mostly for my yearly check up but he froze one bump on my face. I get raised spots that have to be frozen to remove them. Need to change my name to spot. ;)

Went by my eye doctor's office to get my glasses adjusted so I can keep them on. I am suppose to go once a year and I missed my appointment last November. Time flies when you're having fun. Could have sworn I went last year.

Our weather is so nice. I think it's suppose to warm back up this week.
