RV Wishing

Come on in and say hello.

RV Wishing

Postby rvwishing1943 » Tue Oct 09, 2012 10:22 am

Finally figured out how post my intro. I am rvwishing1943. That is just about how far my rv-dreaming has gone. I retired from teaching in June 2011. Moved from the midwest to the west coast in Aug. 2011. Because of life choices made, I retire with very little financial resources, save a small SS check. With a little savings and the help of family, I am getting by. In Oct. 2011, came across http://www.tosimplify.net/, which I have been reading ever since. My desire to be free to live and move about the country was fasinating, desireable, but scary. Scary because the extent of my mechanical ability is turning the key in the ignition :( So, when I came across your website, here, my desire to find out if there were other 'greenhorns' like me and if they are rv-ing and how they are doing it :? Now, I will begin reading everything that is here and getting to know some of you. I have read a few post, now I wonder if I can still stay a member, as I do not have an rv, only wishing to have one :)
Adios, for now, and Peace,

.

A big, ol' Forum Welcome to you, Wishing! Of course you'll be welcome here, RV or no RV - it's the desire and dream that are important. Read the back posts; you'll find out a lot about women in your similar situation - SCARED! :) (I was one of them...)

We're glad you found us and we'll look forward to getting to know you better.

Ask away!!

Welcome to the forum. Several of the ladies on here started out with only wishes and dreams and are now living the good life with their very own RV.

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on making it through a teaching career whole and moving on to retirement. :) Many important things in life begin with a dream and then moving one foot after another as you chase it down.... :) Read and research and share your questions and concerns and laughter and tears....it is all part of the journey. Also feel free to join any of the GTG with or without a rig of your own. Just ask Sarah how many she attended before she jumped. The forum is about the spirit of exploring lives and lands and possibilities....each creating our own road map as we proceed in uncharted territory.

Welcome, Wishing! Do you have a name other than wishing? Makes it a little more "homey". :D Of course you're welcome! Most of the ladies started out with dreams and wishes and are now living the dream. It can be done cheaply if you know how.

Where are you on the left coast? There's a few of us out there in no-man's land... :D we're always ready to gtg for coffee or dinner. Evie (Pooker) and I do a dinner and casino run about once a month, usually down to the Escondido area.
Only Irish coffee provides in a single glass all four essential food groups: alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fat.

You are so Welcome here , Wishing. No R.V. Needed. Desire and common interest, and sounds like you've met those requirements . This group is the best ever. Ask anything you want, you will get plenty of responses :D Have a problem or need a place to vent, you will find others who know just how you feel and most of all there will always be someone who will be watching your back. You will never really be alone in your dream, encouragement and friendship are all in abundance here.

Tina, says it all so much better then I, But I had to pipe in on, having an R.V. Is not a requirement, just the dream and wishing for the lifestyle is all that counts.

Welcome, join in wherever, you like. Hope to see you at a GTG one day.

Hi and Welcome from Texas. Like the others before me have said, having an RV is not a prerequisite. The dream and the desire is all you need. Please feel free to jump in on any conversation. New voices are always welcome.

Welcome, Wishing! The dream is what brought you here, and hopefully we'll be able to help you make your own decisions on if you want to rv or not.

I stumbled into living my dream scared and excited and BROKE - doing this all on a shoestring to this day. And while I do what I can mechanically - for most, it means spending the bucks and staying broke. But happy and broke :)

Glad to have you with us - hope you can find the right dream for you and live it.

Hello and Welcome. I also do not have my RV as yet. I do know which one I want and I plan to order it the beginning of the year but for now I am dreaming right along with you. This group has so much to teach that you will have all the info you need to make the right decision for you. Hope to hear more about your dream as time goes by.

Hello, Wishing, welcome to the forum. I live on a small SS amount and have to save my dimes for fuel but manage to go camping in my little travel trailer several times a year. Jump right in with any questions. Where are you located? Do you have any pets? We are a nosy bunch but very friendly :D and we love pictures.

Welcome RV Wishing.... Just beware... this group tends to help make dreams come true :D I joined it thinking it was time to get serious about my long-time dream & before I knew it - voila! I had my mega-van! :D :D :D :D
This is the best group of ladies around - lots of laughter, sharing, advice & tons of opinions!
I also find it very encouraging how they just 'do it'! I'm actually considering an earlier retirement date so I can roam freely sooner than I had originally thought I ever could! ;)

Welcome from the San Francisco Bay Area. Where are you located? I just got my RV in May and survive primarily on SS. I also knew absolutely nothing about RVing before getting my rig. It can be done. You can find a wealth of information here on just about any subject you can come up with. You'll be surprised at how much you are capable of. Sometimes we just have to follow our dreams and make our lives what we want them to be. That's what I'm trying to do so that later in life I will have no regrets that I didn't follow my dream.

Read as many posts that interest you and then ask any and all questions that come to mind. You'll love becoming a part of this exceptional group of women.

This is a fabulous group of ladies. I am relatively new to this group, but they have me feel so welcome here.
