A day at the beach

Postby Redwahine » Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:11 am

Our first day pulling our new 5er and we went 60 miles east to Biloxi. We knew the "Cruise the Coast" event would be in town starting today. But we did not know how many classic cars would be cruising the beach on Sunday before. We got up and drove doen to the beach. There is a 29 mile long stretch of highway 90 ( Beach Blvd.) that is beautiful white sand beach. Now picture that stretch filled with nothing but classic cars over 35 yrs old! A scene from Americn Grafitti? There are over 1,000 of them. People with RVs sitting in there chairs all lined up across from the beach just enjoying the view and watching the parade of cars. This was all spontaneous, cuz planned events don't start till Tues. the weather was perfect. High 70s with a cool ocean breeze. We stopped at a seafood restaurant and sat and watched the parade of cars and the miles of pristine beaches. A perfect day.
Then when we got back to the park all the empty spots were filled with giant rigs pulling enclosed car haulers. I'll try to add pictures of the cars latter. Most of mine were blurry. But here is the beach.

I love the beaches of the Gulf Coast...have been going since I was a little girl when I called the ocean a 'big river'.. I'm always so amazed at how they can do the fantastic restorations on the old cars and trucks. Your rig certainly has eye appeal..I think you should have swirls painted on the truck.

DH and I both have a classic car. I have Sally, a red 1966 Mustang convertible. It would have been so much fun to have her and drive her along the beaches with the top down. It was such beauteous weather :P We actually saw a 5er towing a car behind....and a MH towing a TOAD towing a trailer with a car. We can't wrap our heads around a threesome tow setup

The bathroom on this Montana is actually part of the bed room, but with a small potty room. Doesn't work well for guests, but gives enough room for very large DH
