Update

Postby Gentleladybear » Fri Oct 05, 2012 6:13 pm

Many of you knew that while we were in Alaska, my dd went in the hospital to have a benign tumor removed from her brain. The surgery went well, but it has left her having epileptic seizures. I came back through Panama City and stayed there about two weeks and ran her back and forth to the ER until they finally decided maybe they should admit her. The meds were not high enough in her system to stop the seizures. So they brought the med level up in the hospital and after a bit more than a week released her. She came out to the State Park there and stayed with me for almost a week. During that time she got her strength back and was out walking.

Today I got a call from her and she was readmitted with the same problems. So they are upping the dosage but have to get her levels up again by IV. They do not want her to have a grand mal seizure so it is important to stop these now.

It is the hope that these seizures will stop when the surgery area on the brain is healed. We will have to wait and see.

In the meantime, my house has a new realtor and we are pushing to get this house sold. I rented a storage building so anything small that I can move and want to keep is being moved out.

Got the pool back in order, but need to get my grass mowed but while it storms here, will stick to the work inside. Grabbed a ladder and cleaned out my gutters before the rain hit today.

Life is great if you don't buckle.

Nan, sorry to hear the meds weren't quite enough and she had to go back in to the hospital. Hope they get her regulated and she gets to feeling better.

Good luck on selling your house, hope it sells fast.

What Karen said. I know how hard this is for you, not just her. Good luck and big hugs.

Nan my older brother went through a similar experience and had seizures after having a brain tumor treated with a cyber knife. He had to take seizure meds and they did frequent blood tests to make sure the levels were at the right amount and changed drugs a couple of times. He also had periodic brain scans to be sure the tumor was shrinking and no other issues going on. So hopefully they having her get her levels checked often to see the dosage is right. My thoughts are with you both as it is a scary thing to go through.

Nan, This is one of those times you wish you could trade places with your daughter...my prayers too for her complete recovery and the seizure medicine at the level to stop them. Weddings can be fun enjoy his happiness...You and I are in the same boat now...grab a paddle...I got my St Joseph's statue yesterday (Sharon told me about this) and I planted it in a pot in dirt...hope this will work but it was easier than digging a little hole in yard...I said my prayer as I buried him. Now I have faith that he will bring me a buyer very soon.

Nan, I hope that your daughter's condition improves, the house is only on the market for a short time and that you have a wonderful time at your son's wedding.

Nan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter. There's a reason they call it "practicing" medicine. Just takes a while to fine tune things. Hope you enjoy your son's wedding. Hang in there girl.
