TX GTG Oct 31 2012 - Canyon lake

The Pink Flamingos are just a group of women who met through different clubs, forums, rallies and friends of friends. Heck, we have been know to pick up people at campgrounds to join the fun. lol At the last GTG we all got invited to someone's birthday party at the campground that we had just met. We just try to get together in the Spring and Fall somewhere and have fun. The activities are not mandatory or exclusive. If there is something in the area that some want to do and not others we just split up and do our own thing.

This gtg would not have been stickied had it not said it was a womens rv gtg with others invited. Now it's the opposite and making for dissension. I hope all can have a good time and that a major division doesn't happen as it did at Mustang island.
Personally I'm not into lots of planned activities, but I do hope that they all are for everyone who is interested in attending, male, female, woman rver, pink flamingo or guest. And I hope no one that doesn't attend the planned activities becomes alienated by that choice. To me sitting by the campfires and getting to know my online friends is what it's all about.

Since it's now clear this is a pink flamingo gtg, I understand why no one responded to Laura's thread asking where to send the banner. I believe it will be sent to Mitch and I sure hope to see a happy group of women rver's in the picture.

Now can everyone relax and have fun, whether on activities or sitting around or a combination.

I don't know...just too much drama for me. Too many things have happened behind the scenes in addition to things on here. I tried to hang in, in hopes of making sure that the newer members could find out how great Women RV GTG's are, but to be honest, I travel and camp to have fun and enjoy the people and surroundings, just not feelin' it here. I'll cancel my reservations today. The best of luck to those attending that this all blows over and a good time is had by all!

As Mitch pointed out, most of the women belong to both groups. This is intended to be all about women coming together not dividing groups. As far as an agenda, looking back at other GTG posts, it seems like they are all a little different depending upon who pulls it together and who wants to attend and where it is held. We do have an agenda for this GTG; many of the women will be there longer than a lot of other GTGs.

Attendees don't have to go on the outings and participate in the potlucks if they don't want to do so; however, if they choose not to, it should be because they prefer down days, want to do something else, (we actually have a list of other available things to do in the area) but NEVER because they don't feel welcome. That is the very last thing anyone wants. All will be welcome even if you choose not to join others on outings. See Martha's comments above.

Unfortunately, negativity always seems to spread faster than comaradery and we want EVERYONE to feel good about coming and have a great time while there. Cmon ladies, women need to make more effort to get along.

As for the Women's RV banner, if it arrives, it will be held up proudly and pictures taken with all the Women RV members present. Don't know why anyone would think otherwise. I just got home at 5:15 last night and the Internet at Inks Lake worked 25 feet from the bathroom, out in the sun, so it just got used for a very short time one day. And I had no Internet when I left there. I didn't realize the question had a limited response time.

I was not planning to go to Texas and don't travel as much as some. But can we have less drama on BOTH forums (as many are ORS members). I love all of you I have met, and anytime anyone wants to plan something let me know. I too prefer non structured events too, maybe not even official group meetings, just people happening to be in the same place at the same time! I like to hang out with anybody, and I,ve already been to high school!!!! Ya'll have a good day, lets not lose sight of ourselves. Wendy

I have been really excited about this GTG from when it was first posted and made my reservations right away. I understood it was a Women's RV GTG from the beginning. I don't know anything about the Pink Flamingos and honestly don't understand the drama. All I am interested in is meeting people I have gotten to know online. I have been really looking forward to meeting face to face. I still plan on going as I have never been to that part of Texas and am looking forward to camping there. I have been reading all the posts back and forth on this thread. If it gets to where I am uncomfortable because of the drama, I will be heading back to my site. I certainly hope that does not end up being the case.

Well, we heard from Jim's brother. There is no way he can make it, so looks like we aren't going to be able to get to this GTG either. Jim had expressed a desire to go up in Ark. to see the color change this year, and I have decided we are gonna go that way instead of Texas. Am trying to convince him to go to the Florida GTG, because of Barbzzz being close and have never been to one down there.
Sure am gonna miss seeing my friends and meeting new friends, but reading over the posts, many of you are going to the FL GTG, so will see you there, hopefully.

Why can't we ALL get together, have fun and enjoy each others company WITHOUT a club or group "label"??

I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone I have had the pleasure to meet at any of the get togethers and hate to see some kind of separation because of a name or title.

I am going and plan on enjoying myself. I am looking forward to meeting any of the Sistah's that do come. The way I look at it is that whatever happened before should not have any bearing on this GTG. That was then, this is now. There are a lot of us Newbies coming, hopefully still, and we are not bringing any prior baggage with us. Just want to get to know everyone face to face that I have gotten to know online. I would imagine we all belong to more than one RV forum. I, for one, belong to this forum, Escapees, IRV2 and RV.net. This is the forum that I am active in because I have not met anyone yet that I did not like online. I expect we will all have different personalities but that is what makes this group of women great in my opinion. We all have our own histories and stories. I am definitely not saying I agree with all the opinions of the ladies on this forum all the time. That is what makes for great conversation I think. Let's all just get together and enjoy the time together.

well I'd certainly go if I could but we all know how well a 5th wheel goes down the road with no truck and of course the more the merrier even if I'm like Beth and just want to sit by the campfire and hold down the fort. and of course eat everyone elses food

What happened??? I went to MS to get my rig and when I check in on the TX gtg, all this stuff?? I am so looking forward to meeting Everyone I've met on this forum plus any other friendly campers at Canyon Lake whether they belong to this forum, Pink Flamingoes or Flying Purple People Eaters. I have no baggage and don't care if there are subsets or sub groups. I agree with Dawn. We all have the love of camping, travel and enjoying meeting people in common. So I will be there either with DH in tow with new rig or by car with a tent

I am still looking forward to meeting VIcki and Mitch. I love your personalities and sense of humor. I hope you change your minds. DH and I were looking forward to Alligator piss.

Red, if you end up bringing the tent, you have to watch on the outside TV what I am watching inside since the new satellite system is in now. Nanananabooboo of course with a ladder you could change the channel through the window.
