The scammers are everywhere. I had mine on Trader and Online...You wouldn't believe how many 'broken english' messages I got saying they wanted to buy sight unseen, they wanted to pay with paypal, then so many other details on the buying process I can't even remember...I thought about how many unsuspecting people have been ripped off on these deals.

When I am carrying the loads of stuff to donate to Thrift shops I know that if I were really dedicated I could sell many of these items, art prints, furniture, etc., on line for a profit.....and then shake my head and remember that donations are good for the organizations and not having to deal with the potential scammers works well for me. I am blessed that I have enough that I don't need every little penny in order to pay the electric bill....and am willing to share those blessing....

I am not sure how I would go about selling a large item like an RV......

I'm facing that very issue right now. Was thinking of Craig's list, but concerned about being a woman living alone with a 14yo...was thinking rv trader, their fee is reasonable. Considered trading in, but just haven't found THE one yet. And where I live...no one will see it parked in the driveway with a for sale sign.

OMG, what an ordeal. The dealer of our Cream Puff really pizzed DH off when he received the faxed purchase contract. They had added a $100 here and a $100 there for things they agreed would be included at dealer's cost. So he took the offer off the table. As he said, "it's the principle of the thing." So we spent yesterday and all day today visiting every RV place within 50 miles of home. Did not find anything near the quality or with the options he likes and everything was $20,000 more than the deal he had negotiated for the cream puff. And he felt the dealers here locally are on the same par with the cream puff dealer. So when we got home, he wired a deposit for the cream puff. We are exhausted. Gonna nap!! :P

I asked the sales person if someone has a device with FaceTime and we can have a video walk through. She said yes and we will have our video tour this evening or tomorrow morning. We noticed that the options listed on some inventory invoices where not even on the rigs we looked at today!! So I want to see that everything listed on the inventory sheet with the sales contract actually exists on the rig. Don't want to drive 500 miles to find out it was all for naught

The hitch is being installed on Friday. Not sure when we'll head over to pick the rig up. My daughter is in town and DH wants our first trip in rig just us! Now he says he doesn't want to just head home after picking up the cream puff, but wants to go exploring in the area. So I'm packing up a couple boxes of sheets, pillows, towels, etc in case that's what happens.

I think I should put Tyler in prison for the duration of this trip cuz it could be dangerous with all the chaos that will go along with taking delivery. He could get confused, run away, or ???? I hate to do it, he gets so traumatized, but I think it is his best interest??

Thank you again for all the great suggestions. Really helped with many of the decisions :P Will post pics when it is a reality.

I think it's a good idea to spend a few nights in the area of the dealer to make sure everything works. After you go through the walk through you are going to be on information overload. Either video it or take good notes.

I have never had a 5th wheel but I saw an attachment called a bed saver that I would get if I had one. I read about people dropping the trailer on the bed of the truck because the hitch isn't locked.

I've seen that ad but in all my RVing years, I have never seen one in use on the road. the idea sounds good but it would make the hookup much more difficult since there is a bar between the hitch and the kingpin so you would have to raise the 5th wheel, back the truck up until the kingpin was inside the bar, lower the 5th, and then back the rest of the way in. Booboos happen, best to just move on and learn from the experience.

Well, Face Time did not work. They have wi if in the show room, but not out on the lot where the unit is. So she is sending some video of the specific items I wanted to see. A big surprise!! DH got this rig more because It has a 6 pt. automatic leveling system with a remote control. Get out of the truck, unhook, push a remote control button to level, then open slides and lower awning...all with a remote control. Since DH is physically limited, I'm the one that would be on the ground doing the stabilizers and jacks. Sometimes my DH can surprise me :P

Yeah, if he can find the right button.  Note to self....don't put it in your pocket while driving down the road...could be a fun show as the slides go in and out and rig goes up and down....like those crazy lifter cars ...

Very nice. Looks pretty similar to Carolyn's 5th wheel layout. Wishing you many years of happy travels. You could easily full-time in this one.
