WET AND WARMISH WEDNESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WET AND WARMISH WEDNESDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Wed Sep 26, 2012 5:15 am

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I am up early so I can get to the Ford dealers by 8:00 for my truck servicing and inspection. It's raining and 52 degrees outside, so a good day to have to wait inside while that chore gets done and I can mark it off my list. I will also go to the bank and then do some last minute grocery and gas shopping for the music fest this weekend. Tomorrow morning I am due in Plattsburgh at the RV dealers for my trailer inspection at 8:00, then on to the fairgrounds to set up for the music.

The dogs are wondering what on earth I am doing up at this hour, and they didn't like getting wet when I let them out for their morning pee. I will feed them soon and then leave them in the trailer while I go to Saranac Lake.

Yesterday I got the yard and porch cleaned up, all the paper and cardboard burned, the snow fencing stapled up so the kids can shovel off the deck this winter, my 78 rpm records looked over and sorted,
cans and bottles and plastic sorted and put into recycle bins, did a couple of loads of laundry, took a walk with the dogs, reminded myself I need to attend to the paddleboat and recover it, and then settled down for a couple of beers with Jack before the sunset. Today I will need to hook up and stow stuff, rain, or not. Then I will get my movies and videos out to take to my daughter's with me to get them digitized.

Wherever you are, I hope you will find a fun thing or two to do today. Coffee is hot, so sit a spell and tell us what's up with you!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Soos, and all who follow! Yes, q-ite a bit warmer this morning with the remnants of rain from last night. Whew, still f-ll from dinner last night  so j-st coffee so far. Oh Dawn, I have a bit of -nderstanding abo-t caring for a mom, yet no idea of how it wo-ld be in s-ch close q-arters (even tho yo-r rig is gigantic!). Thank goodness yo- have yo-r brother (I've ded-ced correctly that Pa-l is yo-r bro?) to help. From reading yo-r post, yo- are definitely doing the right thing-- prodding her to MOVE. I don't think I've ca-ght on to all her health iss-es, however I do know that so many "things" will sh-t down from lack of movement...Echo, I'm wondering if anyone even wears pj's anymore? I don't mean to imply that I'm sleeping in my bday s-it (as I inferred from yo-r comment that yo- do ) Sweats, t-shirts, any other comfortable "day wear" works --especially having dogs that need to be let o-t, or living alone and needing to investigate strange so-nds in the mid of the nite :o We're in an "anything goes" world these days. Loved when the "fad" of wearing pj's AND slippers was cool on college camp-ses a few years ago (maybe still is???). Okay, eno-gh from me. Y'all have a great and safe day! :P

Good Morning Soos, Carolb and everybody else,

Been absent from the forum for a few days, so thought i had better check in. And of course I'm way behind on all the going on's.

Soos sounds like she is getting the rains that we had here almost all of last week, although ours were more of the lake effect rain shower type. But it was chilly all week as well and by the weekend, it was both chilly and wet cause the lake effect showers kicked in good. That was my last weekend at work and it was hard to find things to do since the majority of our work that needed doing was outdoors and we couldn't do it. did manage to do a couple of things on Sunday, but that was about it. Didn't even work the full 8 hour shift either two days due to the crappy weather. But now i am finished and done for the season, so who cares what the weather does.

I"ve been busy working outside here at my house, making a small gravel bed with some landscaping ties next to my foundation and decorating a bit for fall. That project is done, so now off to another one, but probably not today. I"m in the mood for just taking a day off and bumming perhaps. We shall see. Want to get some nice fresh delicious apples to munch on and this is apple time, although some places don't have any this year due to weather.

Carolb, I still wear jammies, although these are more the T-shirt type jammies that are so comfortable, I could wear them all day. Got them through Lands End. You are right about nobody wearing them anymore. Like you said, it's an everything goes society anymore. Sometimes a bit too much anything goes.

I'm worried about Tessa these days as she's off her food and is not interested in eating anything. We have stopped the meds she is on for a few days to see if that helps. She isn't interested in her favorite treats either, so I know she's not feeling good. Usualy when I get the bag out of the cupboard, she is jumping around like a jumping jack and now she just turns up her nose and walks off, no interest whatsoever. Poor baby. I think this bladder/kidney infection is going to get the better of her I am afraid. Made an appt. with vet to have a talk and see if I can put her back on ne of the other meds we had her on before and try it for a longer period of time. Or get a reduction in the one she's one right now (cost me $123 for a month's supply  ) but I think that 1500 mgs a day is an awful lot of medication. Even I would be sick with that kind of dose. She gets two pills (250 mg each) 3 times a day. We are leaving for the U.P. this weekend, so want to get this straightened out before we leave so she can enjoy some "doggie/human" quality time up there.

Well, the farmer's market is in town, so think I shall run up and see if anybody's got apples, so I can take some along. Will save my little trip over to another orchard for later on.

Have a wonderful day all and I will catch up with you later.

Morning Soos, Carolb, Sue and the rest to follow.

Soos, you are busy at it already just like always. I envy your energy. I hope you have a great time listening to your music.

Carolb, yes, Paul is my brother. As of last night, we still don't know what Mom wants to do. He was going to continue talking to her since she is not speaking to me. We are really concerned if she does not get moving, she will end up losing her legs. Since her health won't take knee replacement surgery, she more than likely would not live through an amputation. Since it hurts her knees to move, she does not want to and does not. The edema in her legs is really bad and they are weeping. Paul is worried she will get a staff infection where her legs are leaking. He is working to keep that from happening.

Sue, I sure hope they Tessa's meds right. It is not good if she is not eating anything, not even her favorite treats. I am praying your vet can put her on an antibiotic that puts her back on the right track.

Not much happening here today other than laundry. It is still hot, back in the 90's again today. We are supposed to be back in the uppper 80's tomorrow. That will be welcome. We have been in the upper 90's for several days now. 96-97. I need to walk across and get laundry done today.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Morning..I made it in but only for a few minutes..cause my volunteer work seems to be "Growing" !

Soos, When are you planning on heading South ? Loved those Autumn looking pictures you posted.. Just don't wanna see any of that "White Stuff" along with it LOL brrrrrrrrr

Sue sorry to hear you are having another issue with Ms Tessa... I know that "I don't wanna eat " deal with Ms Reba and I have gone through loads of ideas...and if ya know me.. I can come up with the wildest LOL but I sure hope that your Vet can master this one for ya...Hope you have some Nutri Cal at least to give her a little zip ....I always keep that on hand.. and I'd try anything to see if you can get her going..

Dawn ..it's a tough one with your Mom as you and I have talked but stand your ground...she needs to get those legs taken care of..I suffer greatly with that..and I work at it all the time.. I've had such a mess with Ulcers and worrying about infection..it's an on going issue..and I have difficulties with my knees..and I can't have the surgery either..I have to grin and bare it..SUCKS..so I can empathize with your Mom to a degree..but she really needs to know it won't go away ..it gets worse..I'm praying that this will work out for you and her...God knows it's a rough road..

Carolb...well as far as wearing PJ's... My Miss Reba does and they are really cute.. I'm into long night gowns and long Tees as those were what I'd wear while RVing and had to get out and let Critters out..hahaha..I was always dressed ..hahaha..and I have them Tees in all colors and designs...neat sayings too...yeah I'm for the Long Tee's got one on right now whoopee...:)

Alrighty I've said my morning hello with my coffee by my side now I need to get back to my chore..Hope you all have a fantastic day oh.. and I found another dessert..psst Mitch put that calculator away cause this is just another yummy we NEED....LOL

Hope all your troubles are small ones and your Journey be Safe and Adventurous..

God's Blessing Shine Down on All..

good morning ladies
its a no school day, Yom Kippur. Lots of Jewish in the community so they call it a district recess day just like they do on Good Friday. Works for me, although
its not a paid day off we can't win em all.
The baby due date is scheduled once again, its been changed twice now but now Jack is scheduled for delivery on the 17th of October. I'll be on fall break then so I won't even have to miss a day of work.
Don't have anything special planned for my day off, but can certainly think of several "projects" I need to get into. Perhaps I'll make a list and then can check them off as I go over the winter.
I've amazed myself over the past few weeks learning that I can do without internet as I seem to be just fine connecting when and where I can for free. Saving
that $64 to spend elsewhere is so much more gratifying. I'm also looking at just 3 more payments on the rv :D can't tell you how tickled I am with that thought.
Then of course the car is right behind that so the coming spring is looking mighty good right now. Although I can hardly wait to get back "home" I will get the
remodel done before I move back in as I don't want to be stepping over stuff. First things first though and thats new tires as I can't move it until then.
I've also started doing a little research into my retirement plan from the school district. I will definitely be able to buy a used class c when that day comes.
I loved the red fall colors Soos posted, makes me think of all the blazing yellow showing up in the Colorado Rockies with the aspens turning. Arizona doesn't
get that sort of stuff in the fall.
Also enjoying the recipes that are getting posted as I can get back into cooking a little bit when I get home. REAL cooking, not microwave stuff. Do too much
of that now and I refuse to use sons kitchen, its just too much of a cluster headache working in his kitchen.
Barbzee mentioned on FB recently something about Lasagna rollups. That sounds real appealing to me, was hoping she would post how to do that, I can only imagine taking those big wide noodles and rolling them up with stuff inside. Barbz......do ya hear me now? LASAGNA ROLLUPS.......RECIPE PLEASE :D
Well I hear son up getting ready for work, guess I'll go make an appearance and see whats for breakfast. :D
Ya'll have a great day and be safe. Here's hoping you have good weather where ever you are.

It's a beautiful sunny fall day here in MN. Supposed to be this way (low 70's) for the next week or so. Unfortunately, we desperately need rain. It is very dry and we haven't had any rain since the first week I moved back about 6 weeks ago.

Soos, I wish I had half your energy and motivation! I have been so lazy lately. Feeling very tired for some reason. My health insurance should be kicking in soon here, so I will schedule my annual physical and get everything checked out. Haven't had one since just before I move out to CA. So I'm overdue for that.

Dawn, I sure hope something can be done for your mom so she can enjoy the RV and your new traveling lifestyle!

Not much cooking going on here since my oven doesn't work in this apartment (I miss my bedtime cookies! :( ) I have some frozen apple crisp in the freezer that needs to be baked before eating but that will have to wait until I move next week.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Soos, I always have to rest a bit after reading your post before typing my reply...you trip to get truck serviced reminded me that I should get my truck's transmission serviced before pulling any distance. If I may ask, who is Jack? someone special?
Sue, so sorry to hear that Tessa isn't doing well..We suffer right along with our fur babies when they are sick..
I'm not sure who started the pj topic but I am going to stop wearing pj's too. While at home which is rural I can step outside in anything as long as everything is covered but I am trying to form habits that will work while traveling. I think I will start sleeping in my lightweight knit warmup pants with a tshirt. I can throw on the jacket, put my socks on and slip my feet into my slide on canvas shoes pretty quickly. Rudy doesn't wake me that early tho, he sometimes stays in bed a while after I get up.
Dawn, I am so sorry this is not working out..You have certainly tried. I believe you and Paul are seeing the writing on the wall, it's time to start visiting assisted living facilities. In all honesty your mom will be much more comfortable and probably happier. Many of us have been where you are and the answer is almost always the same and the inevitable is placing them where they will get the best care and provide quality of life. I have all of you in my prayers.
Barb, Did you ever want a restaurant or a catering business..you are undoubtedly happiest in a kitchen or you are just one of the smart ones who knew the way to a man's heart and keep it there is his stomach. I printed out some recipes for crockpot cooking and got a few ingredients yesterday. It's time to eat something besides frozen entrees. I will admit I've found there are some I really like and would probably be satisfied with. I will use my electric skillet too but I doubt I will even use my stove. I have a tray on the stove to give me more countertop. I think my microwave will have to be replaced, at least I'm going to ask for a replacement. The number pad doesn't work and the button to open door got damaged. it looks like someone got too close with a propane lighter. I might go ahead and get the micro/convection combo.
Ava, your daughter and baby are in my prayers for all to go well. Such great news that your plans are coming together. You have worked so diligently toward this goal (high 5 here). One day soon we will just have to have a gtg party for you.
I officially listed my house yesterday. The company I chose is number one in sales. They also have a very liberal listing agreement, which allows me to still sell it myself. The only stipulation is that it's not someone they showed it to within the last 60 days. I'm not bound and can cancel at any time. This amazed me because they will spend money to advertise it. Please say a little prayer for it to find a new home very soon.

Dawn, sorry you are having so much trouble with your mom. It's hard when they don't want to do what's best for them. When my dad died mother went from a parent to a child almost over night. My sister was moving back to where she lived and we tried to talk her into letting my sister and her family move into her house because they would have more room and her taking my sister's trailer. She wasn't having any of that so my sister built a house. It wasn't long before she couldn't stay by herself and we ended up passing her back and forth until we had to put her in a nursing home.

Not much going on here. My sister came for the weekend and we shopped until we dropped. She was looking for work shoes and found 2 pair. Our weather has warmed back up. I think it will cool off this weekend a little.

I still have pj's but usually wear a gown. I must turn like a rotisserie at night because what ever I have on gets twisted around until I feel like I'm going to choke. I have to stand up and untwist in the middle of the night.

Good Morning ladies... at least it was morning when I got on here! It takes a while to read all of the posts. so much going on for everyone.

Dawn it would be much easier if your mom was in an assisted living facility... they can get her to do more simply because there is not the emotional ties involved... When I had my adult foster care home some of the family members would get upset because their mom was moving more... it is a hard way you are traveling... I know you will make the right decision for you and your mom... you are in my prayers...

I did not sleep until the wee hours of the morning so am a bit logy today... still drinking coffee and juice... will get moving soon...

I got word that my Aunt Anna passed away Sat... I am so very glad that I went to her 103rd birthday celebration this summer... she lived a long and good life...

My choice is night gowns...

Take care everyone enjoy what ever you are going...

And that is why I like wearing t-shirts to bed. I may wear shorts but usually not long bottoms because again, I feel like I'm the washing machine agitator and they get all wrapped around me.
