Hello to all;
Daughter (Lindsey) and I headed out Sat. As maiden voyages go it has had a little of everything and more. Got out of Baker to the top of the first long grade and pulled over at the summit to let dogs out and check things over. Smoke coming from back of TV. New brakes locked up. So long story short. Dropped RV, dragged TV 40 miles back to town waiting for flames. Shop who installed brakes readjusted them. Took two hours for them to cool off enough to work on. Hooked back up and headed out again. Going down the back side of the mtn. soon realized they had backed them off too much and I bottomed out by brakes and only just slowed us down. Umm-VERY interesting ride down the hill. Now we are in the mtns. down hill no matter which way we go. Bless this forum, I remember reading something Beth wrote last week to another newbie about not using her brakes if she can avoid it. So dialed up the trailor brakes hard, put the pickup in low gear and went slow. Long day but made it to Prineville OK. Then to Grants Pass on Sunday.
