Let's get together!

Those of us who live here are very grateful that we don't need a burn ban. Las year's fires near east of San Antonio were more than enough for us. Haven't had any rain since the ban was lifted and this is our "rainy" month but may possibly get some Friday or Saturday. Maggie, Mitch, VickieP, and Carolyn are on the list for the Dutch Oven Demo Potluck. We'll let them off the hook for one of the other potlucks. he, he, he! I think everyone will agree they more or less "volunteered" through their comments all except for Carolyn and we were already volunteering her.

It's still 5 weeks away so the final jello agenda will be forthcoming in a week or so.

What kind of GTG is this? Do the generals in TX write the orders in ink :o ...or just in suggestive pencil like our usual GTG's

Well, you did use the word "volunteer" so I guess we are still good!

Hmmmmmm...maybe not so much "volunteered"...my Dad taught me to never volunteer for anything.
So, color me off that list! :D

Don't plan on me "teaching" anything. The burn ban or rain could put a damper on any DO cooking & there's no way that what we fix would provide enough for that big of a group, maybe supplement other regular potluck dishes...but that's just my opinion.

What Vickie says makes sense, (yes, Mitch!) that way when you have too much food for one potluck you have plenty of left over for an additional lunch or dinner the next day...with the ever ready suppliment of beans and weiners....

Not owning up to it  I said it was really good and I want to learn, but Colleen volunteered you  :x

Wouldn't think of holding Maggie and Carolyn to it since Mitch and VickieP are begging off.....ladies, you are off the hook. Guess I just misinterpreted all the strong interest in checking on the burn ban to be an interest in demonstrating and feeding us.  And Tina, one thing we have never been short of at one of our GTGs is food. We usually have enough to feed an extra 20.

My interest in the burn ban was campfires...for me, that is the best part of camping!
Quiet, cool evenings, sitting around a warm and crackling fire, enjoying the company of good friends.
Yup, that's why I would not be happy with a burn ban.

I love campfires too. Mitch, I am really looking forward to anything you cook. I have been reading what a really good cook you are. No comments necessary Vickie

It's all just nasty rumors! I fail more often than I succeed. And that's the honest truth.
Especially now that I don't cook any more. My guinea pig died.

Now, on to the other part, I'll take care of it...
