Welcome! I've been super busy at work and am finally catching up on the forum. Reading your posts is delightful. I live full-time in FL and would hope to meet up when you are in the area. Your daughter should have no difficulty finding a chef position. In addition to WDW, there are many resorts and restaurants in this area.

My mother loved to crochet and had tons of yarn. We donated her yarn to a ladies craft group at church when she passed away. They are always in need of yarn to make lap throws for nursing homes and hospitals. Perhaps there is a similar group near your home.

Your extensive travel experience will be valuable as you transition. You have already learned to occupy yourself while on the road alone. The RV will be a luxury after being limited to what you can take in a van. Of course, resisting shopping on the road will be tough.

I agree shopping for yarn will be my worst temptation. That is my worst problem now when I travel for work. it is good that I have limited space or I would buy yarn everyplace I stopped.

Keeping myself company is something I am very good at. I get involved in a project and sometimes I do not come out for days.

This I know all to well. On many an occasion I've had to call or text her to remember to eat something! I can see this as only getting worse once she retires!

I'm a little late to the party, Roadweaver, but welcome to the Forum. I'm excited to read about the vigor and certainty with which you plan to acquire your dream. Good for you! And not having to overcome family objections is a big plus.

I know about having to shed "stuff" ... I just sold my home and had to sort and toss and, well, you know. Dawn and I raced each other to the end. I think I finished first -- but only by a nose.

Your crafting addiction brings to mind a full-timing couple who towed an enclosed trailer that contained a car -- and the husband's woodworking shop! In fact, a woman at the park where I'm camp-hosting had her quilting frame set up outside and she was happily working away. Where there's a will ...

As has been noted.....we seem to find room for what we want Some how I think it is worth it to travel with two dog crates set up all the time......I keep looking at the sq ft involved but haven't figured out anything more valuable to put in there.

Thank you ladies for your welcome. I have found my RV home and will be ordering it in January and hope to pick it up in March. The company is going to raise my bed so that my traveling loom and spinning wheel can fit under it. I had to send them the height. I was told no problem. Today in the knitting group, one of the ladies could not understand how I could enjoy life on the road and what i wold do with all the things I make. I tried to explain to her how excited I was that now I will be able to go to fiber shows all over the country, most of them allow RV parking so I can dry camp for the weekend and be surrounded by fiber. The fun part is not to have such a stash and pick up what I need for a project whenever I need it. Knitting needles take up little space and have no weight. As to what I will do with the things I make...I will figure that out when it becomes a problem.
