It's a Whopping Saturday ..The First Day Of Fall

Postby Barbzeee » Sat Sep 22, 2012 4:18 am

Oh Yeah ! It's a Whopping Saturday and the First Day of Fall !!!!!

How wonderful (brrrrrrrrr) as we (most of us anyway) get to see all those colors happening.. I mean it's
such a neat time of the year..actually my favorite as I love making Soups and Stews and of course
Halloween..Now that's my Treat..and speaking of Treats..

Ms Reba yesterday ate for the first time in a long time ..I opened those little containers of Cesar's Gourmet
Fillets of Prime Rib..(Really!) and Ms Reba charged..hahaha..so last night and dinner time I managed to
add some rice and veggies and she cleaned her plate and even went after my dinner of Flounder..OKIE DOKIE

So I'm praying that this is a turn around and I can relax a bit.. I've just been so stressed out not able to
function ..it was just so frustrating every day not knowing how I was gonna get food into her.. and yes, all
your kind words and prayers really helped..

Today we're just cleaning up outside and putting a lot of the porch furniture in the shed as soon it will be
close to time for the trip to Florida...that of course will be after Ms Reba's surgery on Oct 3rd..

Carolb...want to wish you a Happy Birthday..sure hope you do something special ...and psst tell us all about it !

Ava, keeping you and your daughter and baby in my prayers..

Echo glad David got down to visit too..and I know you are enjoying that GS.. You just remember take care of yourself
so you can have lots of good times !!!

Tina, crossing my fingers for you too...Hoping that sale goes through..

Nan, hope to get to visit with you this winter and praying everything will be alright with your Daughter too !

Irmi, I'll be seeing you also ..and we'll share more recipes ...Crock Pots always going LOL

Soos, you best start heading south before the Snow falls up your neck of the woods...and don't forget we
need to meet...a Must..

Dawn..well you know.. I'll be seeing you.. oh my stars..yeppers for 2 months we'll be neighbors...hahaha

Anxious to read about all your Adventures and Get To Gethers too...and Stay Safe..

Gonna put my coffee pot on and I have Banana Nut Blueberry Bread all ready so come on and sit a spell and Gossip :)

God Bless
Zeee and Critters 3..

Thank you Zeee!!! :D Yepper, my big day, and WILL do something special! But first, good morning to all on this autumnal equinox, so get out there and see the sun rise and set! ...Had to catch up on posts--ended up really down on Thurs, slept in yesterday morning til 6:30!!!! Subbed, then had an early bday din with my second cousin--a very vibrant 92 year old woman!!!! So glad to hear Ms Reba is eating! I know what that's like. Most of my "downer" was missing my Bo--had 14 bdays with him, and now my first without... :( Soooo, celebrating my big day by heading to an actual CG! All my overnights have been staying at rest areas. Gilbert Lake is just about an hour from here, I'll actually set up camp, read, do crossword puzzles, walk pups and eat a piece of cheesecake! Supposed to rain, but I love rain! Will extend my awning--haven't done that yet. They're waterproof, I assume? :? Soos, still waiting for that PM! :P You are all such fun ladies, I gotta meet you! TN GTG coming up soon, but I won't be there. FL in Jan will be my first! ...and I did buy a cheesecake sampler from Aldi's so there's plenty for breakfast this morning ;) Have a great and safe day, everybody! :)

Oops, Zeee, I've been meaning to ask where in PA!? Anywhere in PA makes you south of Soos and me--the three of us could have a GTG??? Just a thought... ;)

Good morning to all - just have hot coffee, tea and croissants -
We welcomed Fall in with a bang - literally - lots of thunder and lightening and for the first time since we've lived here hail. Pea sized so no damage but sure was noisy. Temps have gone way down - so woke up to the furnace going. Still cloudy out but we should get sun later. The trees should start turning in earnest now.
Safe travels everyone. And hope weather is good whereever you are.

Morning all. Going to be a hot one here with a high of 97 for the first day of Fall.

Carolb, I feel for you. Glad you are in a campground enjoying the rain and cheesecake. We'll all get each other through all our "firsts" over this coming year.

Barb, so glad Ms Reba is devouring those Little Ceasar dinners.

Not much happening here today. It's Saturday so it's house cleaning day. Goes a lot faster in Sunshine than it did in the house. All the dogs and Mom are still asleep, but I have been up for about an hour and a half, so think I will get at least the dogs stirring so I can make myself some coffee.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning. It is officially fall!! Today is the Autumnal Equinox - sunrise & sunset are 12 hrs apart marking the beginning of shorter days and longer nights until the Winter solstice :P Weather is perfect this AM, in the 60s...but headed to the 90s. So I am high tailing it out of here to go down to PPL and do research and list all the features on a 5ver my DH says he is considering buying. He put a deposit to hold it for a week  It is much bigger than I would consider, but he says he is claustrophobic and needs head room. :D

My headaches are almost gone. Neck pain still a pain. DH says I'm still in a fog and confused :?: Not sure if I know what he means  as in more than normal?

Ava, praying your daughter and baby are holding in there and all will be good.
Barbs, sooo glad ms Reba finally ate :P
Echo, so glad you are doing better and hope the cigarettes are staying away :!:
Tina, hoping the place sells fast and all things get settled soon.

Hope y'all have a great day and those traveling, stay safe. Aloha

It's a gorgeous first day of fall here -- high bright skies and trees just starting to change color. I do love fall and Saturday!

Off to the farmer's market. The William wants to go, but I'm dubious -- his nose is just at table level, and he really is a food thief. You'd think I didn't feed the dog, but it's just that he likes treats better. :)

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Soon daylight hours will become less than night-time hours----sigh!

The day has dawned sunny and relatively warm at temperatures in the 50s. It is also very windy out there as a front is approaching bringing rain and cooler temps for later. Lots to do here while the sun is shining, including making another dump run.

Yesterday I got the raspberries raked up and garden-carted to the compost pile, and managed to get some more brush mowed down with the dull-bladed brush cutter before I finally had to give up until I can get that blade sharpened. I also worked on sorting some clothes here in the house to decide which to bring with me back to FL in my bag to put in the truck. I managed to get it down to just my bag and one bin of shoes to add to the truck bed. The other stuff will be carried in the trailer, as usual.

The dogs and I also got in a mile walk, or so, on the property trails amidst some light rain sprinkles and some hiding beneath tree branches until it abated a bit. I need to get some pics of the fall colors that are materializing daily, especially the red maples.

I really should take off and go visit Mema, the kids' grandma, as Mandy and Orion are there too today. I haven't seen Mema since I got back in May, I don't believe. It's the price of gas up here, now more than 4.53 per gallon, that is making it so hard to make the decision to go. Although, if I do go, I can also stop at Walmart and pick up the tarp I need to recover the paddleboat at the pond and some porta-potty deodorant for my trailer. I hate decisions! But, as I get dressed for the dump, I will decide whether to go there, or not.

Carolb, I sent you that message quite a few days ago, although I will check again and make sure it did get sent. Check your messages on the top of this page and let me know if it's not there. I will also try to get my cake from my other computer on this one so I can bake you a cake and post a card in the General room! If I don't get to it in time, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and have a fun one!

Barbzee, I can feel the relief in your words this morning, due to Ms. Reba's eating her dinners now! I sure do hope that surgery is worth it and that it will go well for all of you----mostly her. What if she doesn't have it? What would happen in that case, if you decided not to put her through it? by the way, I sure would love to have some of your banana nut cake!

Red, what on earth is PPL? Poor People? Pitiful Purple Lane? Sigh.

Havingfunnow, welcome to the group! It's neat to see a message from you today! I have been so lax in welcoming people lately---please forgive me! Hope to hear more from you now, and see some pics when you learn to post them.

Dawn, you have been doing much more than I have lately, so be proud of yourself! Happy housecleaning day to you!

Carol, fall is beautiful when you live in the deciduous tree zones as we do----it makes my heart sing to see alll those colors. Some years, we have even had some white snow on those brilliant colors to emphasize them!

I sure do hope that those of you in the Washington State fire areas are staying safe and not having to breathe all that acrid smoke as well as avoiding the flames. The thought of that smoke makes my lungs hurt.

I need to get going here no matter what I decide, so happy first day of fall to all!

Ok...I cannot for the life of me send a private message on theis sunuvabichin Windows 7, so how can I get ahold of you, Carol? Try sending me a message with your phone number, and I will call you? I have had it with trying this morning. It says my message to you is sitting in my outbox, and that it hasn't been sent---how on earth do I send it?

ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soos, it is my understanding it will stay showing in your outbox until the recipient has read it. Then it disappears. Beth or Mitch can correct me if I am wrong.

Good Morning... what a lively bunch of ladies in here this AM... Red thanks for clearing my fuzzy brain up... I thought both spring and fall were Vernal Equinox now I know better...

I got several things listed on Craigs List yesterday... downsizing is on its way... it will be up to 2 years before a space is available in either of the places I looked at... that is really good as it gives me time to adjust...

I am still carless as my grandson had to order parts and they quit making the Oldsmobile Alero... maybe a salvage yard would be a good place to look... I do not go much so it is fine to not have it for now...

Dawn do you have a recliner in your bedroom? I cannot remember from the pictures you posted... that would sure make it easier when your mom is resting... also are there two doors so you can go outside in the early morning?

Miss Reba you keep eating... that is great when our pets begin to feel better... if I get sick will you save some of that prime rib for me?

Soos says there are a lot of new people going to the FL GTG this year... oh oh oh I will miss you all but you will have a simply grand time... if you enjoy sampling food you will even have a better time... I have gone several years and each one is better than the last... one of the best things is touring the RV's...

Have a great day what ever you do

Soos, Dawn is correct - the message won't leave your Outbox until it is read by the recipient...
It'll then appear in the Sent Box.

Kathleen, no I don't have a recliner in my bedroom. I just pile the pillows behind me on the bed. The dogs wanted to sleep in this morning too, so I just turned the TV on quiet and stayed in my room with the door shut. Mom has doors too, so if the dogs had been up, I would have taken them out and then put on the coffee. I just did not feel like disturbing anyone this morning. I was kind of enjoying the absolute peace and quiet by myself.

Good Morning

Running really behind this AM. It has been a busy and difficult 2 weeks here. Lawyers finished up their responsibilities on probate of sister's estate yesterday and I am finishing up some downsizing of my antiques business. Have one more load to pick up today and get items redistributed to two other malls where I plan to keep booths. Proved to be a bigger task than I expected but there is an end in sight finally.

Probably good thing I haven't had time to think lately otherwise would likely be in panic mode over upcoming trip to TN and beyond. Will have to figure out what to take and start getting things together and down to the RV tomorrow. Knew when I bought Magic I could not keep her anywhere near house but didn't realize what a pain that would be in terms of loading/unloading items plus having to get ride to her night before trip as I cannot leave van there. Haven't told Nicky he is going yet; don't think he s going to be all that thrilled about it.

Tho I didn't post to them, think I've caught up on all the blogs. Will miss the Alaska ones but now looking forward to learning more about Mexico.
Best get moving. Hope everyone has a great first day of fall. I so hate that the daylight is already noticeably shorter but will not miss the extreme heat.

Good morning gals! Boy, fall sure hit here with a vengence! I was out shopping last night and came out of Target. The temp had dropped about 15 degrees in half an hour since I went in and the winds were so strong I thought I would get blown away before I got to my car! Driving home was a challenge with my car being whipped around on the roads too! It is still windy this morning and cold. I closed my storm windows last night to hold in the heat in here since they don't have the heat turned on in the apartments yet.

Going out to meet a gal from work to pick up a few more things for our "comfort" basket for our manager. It is kind of like Christmas shopping for stocking stuffers! I hope she likes it!

Glad to hear Ms Reba is finally eating! I used to have to force feed my ferrets when they wouldn't eat. It is so hard when the don't feel good. Just like kids.

I bought a little box of Mexican Jumping Beans last night at the Dollar Tree. Lola thinks that is the best toy! She bats the little box around the floor when they start jumping! So funny!

Have a great day!

PS> Soos, I don't know what PPL is either!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
