Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday already

Good morning all! Anyone for tomatoes this morning? Already diced and bagged 4 qts for freezing. It's been never-ending, and if you don't know the story, my bro (who owns this house/yard, which was our g'ma's) decided to go big this year with 38 plants! So "we" (which means me!) have been up to our ears in maters! Enough of that, and back to "good morning"! I too was absent for a couple days, so just caught up with things. Reba, Sassy, Tessa-- the four-legged ones needing wishes for good health. And Echo, sounds like you're making a decent recovery! :D Soos! Did you freeze last night? We didn't get the BIG storm down here in the valley that they predicted for yesterday, but I haven't heard how things were in the Adirondacks. And will you be there over the Columbus Day weekend???? I have a family coming into town this week, and then a commitment on Oct 6th, but thought I could mosey up your way on the 7th-9th???? Let me know if that would work. :D I'll be subbing today--nice to make a few extra dollars when I need/want to. Cripes, I think more tomatoes have ripened since I started this msg  Off to dice, bag and freeze! Wishing a great day to all and be safe wherever you are! :P

Good Morning everyone. Again I could not sleep...this has got to get in check. I finally got up and made some coffee, it hit me that I should get rid of the Keurig and get a stove top percolator. I love my flavored coffee in the morning. Today I will meet my knitting group at Starbucks for a couple of hours of knitting and then we go to lunch. Afterwards, I have the first load of books to take to the Used bookstore in town. I made chili last night that will last me for the rest of the week. My daughter may be a chef but I hate to cook. Well that is not true, I like to make bread...I just don't like to stand over the stove. If you can not cook it in a crockpot, my nu wave oven, or microwave....what is the purpose. I was sitting here laughing, the only thing I use my oven for is when I have a polymer clay piece that is too large for my toaster oven. Have a good day everyone. By the way, I love a good tomato

Good Morning Carol, Louise and All....

Yep, nothing wrong with tomatoes... I've batched a few in my day...but I've never just diced up and froze..although would be really a lot easier..(*wait work is work and still long so not that easy either ) Momma would have us lined up on our jobs..someone picked and brought in and we washed and then cut up and put in huge pot on stove and cooked then put through the neatest device (momma brought from italy) and we'd crank..one side the skin and seeds would come out the other side the pulp would come out..then back in a pot and cook some more and those jars..omg ..seemed like hundreds...there would be basil all washed and put on towel and as we put the tomato in the jars ...some basil was put in as well..then back into another big pot of water..OMG..you got the picture..this was a full day and then some..but we did up enough to last a year and then it was waiting for next years crop..hahahaha...I'm tired think I'll go lay down :)

Carol, I'm so wanting to give this a try to freeze them.. do you add anything to them and what type of tomatoes do you use...like plum tomatoes ???? and does it work up well when making gravy oops mean sauce ???? I'm all eyes and ears..!!

Louise.. well you are right ... I love your gadgets... I use a Coleman 14 cup percolator cause I make a pot and put it up for the rest of the days..(yeah I'm frugal throw not much away) .. I use it for coffee, and making cake too.. them dense chocolate kind..you know the kind that keeps you ticking LOL...You are just gonna love that lifestyle I can tell..and can't wait to meet up with you..oh and yes, your daughter..omg ..You know she should be able to find work as so many places are in need of good cooks !!! keep us posted please !

Well Ms Reba ate this morning of course not her own food...again the "Meat Loaf with rice and veggies..but she ate oh and she decided she wanted a plain doughnut..I said, "No"..HUH ....and wham bam thankya ma'm she was up got the piece and jumped down...good golly ms molly ..she's one tuff cookie...this ole gal has her mind set on what she wants regardless... yeah..she's a hoot...but I'm still happy she's got that spunk...Today I call Saul (my vet/friend) and let him know her progress.. I know i'll hear him sighing as I tell him all she is eating...well, like I told him before.. if it's good enough for me ..it's good enough for her...but I have some mean arse bears (Abby and Zeke) that would love to dive in...omg..I see them drooling...hahaha...I feed them first cause I know how they could and would over power us..(me and Reba)..hahaha..

Anyway.. I sure hope you all have a great day and our storm has passed..lots of wind, rain and nasty branches all over the yard...so that means I need to get a move on....

Safe travels to all and as always...

Louise - I bought Mark a small Keurig so that he could take it camping if he wants - so far he hasn't but cold weather is coming - some day!!!

I've got an appointment on 10/9 to get the axle flipped on the trailer. I'm tired of scraping pulling out of driveways and such. But I may see if there is a trailer guy that can do it sooner than the dealer.

Oh and all this talk of putting up maters - friend of mine is making apple butter right now, wish I lived closer!!!!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Rain has finally quit here! YAY! Or at least it hasn't rained since about 6 or 7 last eve, so I am hoping that it's all done. We have a couple of leaks that we didn't know about. One in the bathroom which thankfully we can direct into the shower with the aid of the shower curtain. But we have one around the slide. Would have never known about that one except I only had my heavy, fuzzy socks on yesterday and my foot got wet when I was getting up and out of the dinette. The floor all along the bottom edge of the slide was wet. Will have to figure out what we can do about that.

Have a doctors appt at 2pm today at the Dollywood clinic to have a blood sample taken again. Jeeze, they called yesterday and had me take 5 freaking coumadin last eve. I have also got to call the visiting social worker and see about setting up an appt with her. She called yesterday but Kelly had my ringer turned off and I didn't know it and never heard it ring. Love that kid to pieces but could murder her sometimes too.

OK, need to get busy here. Still got some cleaning to do as I didn't get a lot done last night. Told Kelly she is the one that is gonna sit on the floor and put things away. I am worried that once I get down on the floor that I will have a miserable time getting back up! So I am hoping that ya'll have a super day, lots of fun or relaxing, which ever the case may be and that it's all done safely...

Love to all

Good morning all. Lots of good thoughts for the four legged friends. Tyler goes to the vet to get all his stitches out today. So glad that everything was benign  Then of to the Dr for me for more tests :( DH is out looking for a replacement vechicle ( Ford F150 was totalled in accident). He's tried several SUV but no fit. So now he is trying to find a truck that has bench seating without that center console. If you are traveling, stay safe and everyone have a great "hump" day

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

We are supposed to get down into the 20s here tonight, so I need to disconnect my water hoses and make sure I set my furnace to come on now and then to keep the plumbing warm beneath the floor. On second thought, I will drain the hot water heater and blow out the pipes----no need for heat if I stay here in the house to get the "stuff" done that needs to be done in here. Although the rain is over and the sun is bright and shiny, it is FREEZING out there today! Fall is really here.

Barbzee, so good to read that little Ms. Reba is eating, no matter what it is! She sure does have a lot of character in her pictures! What a cutie! I hope things stay good for her for some time to come. She is old enough to deserve some more quality time!

Need to get moving now as I have spent all morning on the phone with Walmart credit services trying to get my online account unlocked. Too long to discuss the idiocies of that right now, but suffice it to say I am more than ranted out after trying to prove I am who I am! After my last tantrum, I spoke with a head person who finally got me back on! (One who spoke English!)

Roadweaver, very nice to meet you! I have been very lax in welcoming people when they first sign in lately, and I appologize. Hope to see you on the roads before too many more months pass. Hope sleep becomes better for you!

Carolb I need to send you a private message with my address so you can come for a fall visit. I hope to get to that sometime later today, so be looking!

Find something fun to do today! Later............
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Louise, you don't have to get rid of your coffee maker unless it's one of those that is too big. The last time I got a coffee maker for the RV I got one of the little Mr Coffee 4 cup's with a metal pot. One less thing to break. lol There are some of the Keurig makers that are not very big. I carry one of the little plastic funnel looking things that sits on a cup to make coffee when I don't have electricity. I just boil some water on the stove and pour it through.

My DH loves fresh tomatoes but we haven't been very successful in growing any the last few years. We use to have a fruit stand close but my DH didn't come in with any tomatoes from them this year so they must not be open. Tomatoes are the worst thing for my acid reflux so I'm not as interested in them as he is. My grandparents did a lot of canning and butchering when I was a kid and my mom and dad would help and make us help. I hated it. I think I can still smell wet chicken feathers. We use to send a calf for meat but my DH decided that he only wants to eat steak. I miss the ground meat the most and always having something handy since it's 12 miles to the grocery store. Not that far but a pain if I'm trying to cook and need something.

Echo, when our house flooded and we ended up staying with my son for a while I started off sleeping on a mattress on the floor. I didn't realize I was in such bad shape until I tried to get up off the floor. That takes some practice. I can't get over how much it hurts my knees to kneel down. When we were kids we crawled all the time playing. Wish I had taken better care of them. My brother would jump off the garage for fun. He had to have a hip replaced in his 50's.

I haven't been to town in 4 days so think I'll head out.

Yeah, I keep complaining that it's just not fair..... We are all at the age where we can do whatever we want, go wherever we want, whenever we want and in my case I can stay as long as I like and don't "have" to answer to anyone about my time or what I did or spent. And now that I am in that wonderful position? I am freaking falling apart!!! What a BUMMER!!! :x

I know what you mean, life's not fair. When I was a kid my dad would only buy vanilla wafers and gram crackers for us. Since there were 4 of us a package of good cookies would have been gone in 5 minutes. I loved Twinkies and seldom got to have one. I said when I grew up I was going to eat all the Twinkies I wanted. Well guess what, I'm too fat to be eating Twinkies.

Hi everyone. Have not been on much the last couple days. Have to catch up with everyone and read all the posts.

We are back in the Fort Worth area. Mom's doctor called last week to let her know they wanted her to come in for a full work up. We headed back so she could make appointment and go in. He is out of town this week, so she is going in next week. I called CW to get all the stuff I have bought installed. The first day they had someone who could spend the whole day working on my rig was on Oct 3rd. The computer scheduling showed the work going into the next morning too. The girl I have been working with said it could be that some of the jobs could go faster than the scheduler shows and I might be able to get it all done in one day. Hope so. If not, Paul and Mom will have to come get me and Mom, the dogs and I will have to spend the night in Paul's rig.

Ali, it doesn't look like we are going to be able to make it to Branson this year because of this late scheduling. Are you and Ron going to be there next year? Hope so. We are looking at making it there next fall or late summer. When we leave here, we will be working our way south to the TX GTG. Can't go very far in any day and then have to park for at least a week with Mom's legs.

Did not get my booboo fixed in Oklahoma. They guys never did show up to do the work. They called as I was driving back to Ft. Worth to say they would definitely be there that afternoon. Told the guy who called I was already to Denton and I had told the owner the day before that if they did not show up on Monday, I was leaving on Tuesday. This was after they had told me they would get started on the work the Thursday before. No one showed up on Thursday or Friday and did not call me. I called on Monday to let them know my plans. I figure I can get it fixed somewhere down the road. The guy I talked to on the phone was really nice. He appologized and said they had been crazy busy. Told him no problem. Just could not wait any longer.

We are parked in a CG that I really do not like, but will only be here for a couple weeks. All the sites are really close together. There is only a small strip of grass between them, just wide enough for a picnic table. People cannot even put out their awnings without touching the slides on the rigs next to them. Paul is parked next to me and he is far enough back, I can put out my awning. It is across the freeway from Mom's doctor, though. Have to take the dogs down to a dog run that is a good little walk. They practically run to get there in the mornings. Bless their hearts. I carry my little blue bags just in case. It is funny to watch me herding all four dogs there. It is too far for Mom to walk. While Paul was stuck in Valley View getting his master cylinder changed, I had all 6 dogs. Now that was a sight to behold!  I felt like one of those New York dog walkers. I have a lot of respect for them now. I don't know how many times we had to stop because the leashes were wrapped around my legs and I could not walk.  Sure wish we could put up their dog pen, but it is not allowed here. There is not enough room to put their staked leads either. Don't think I will every apply for a job as a dog walker.

Hope everyone has had a great day. Going to go finish catching up on everyone's posts.
