Rather chilly Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rather chilly Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Sep 18, 2012 7:19 am

Good Morning everybody,

Haven't been on here for a few days and havne't been on the forum much to do any catching up on the "local news" out there, so hope all's going well for you all other than minor little problems and things that crop up as part of our daily lives. Will be playing catch up before long. Did start reading some of the new Introductions and lots of new people with great dreams out there. Welcome to you all. I will enjoy following along on your hopes, dreams and travels.

It's a chilly damp day here today. Supposed to have lake effect rain showers and only aruond 54 for a high. But with a 25 mph wind expected, it will feel much colder. Time to haul out the fall jackets. Glad this is my day off although I do have an outside project I wanted to work on and may do if it doesn't rain too much around here. You never know with those lake effect showers.

Am happy to report some good news on Tessa and that is , her latest tests show that the higher levels (BUN and one other) have dropped a bit more, so the new antibiotics are working it seems. Between that and theestrogen, she is doing very well from what i can see. So it's beginning to look like we are winning the battle in heading off kidney disease in her and dealing with a bad infection rather. She's to stay on the antibiotics for another month, three times a day. Oh Joy  Looks like my life is going to be wrapped around doggie pill time.

Did get a little bit of worrisome news on Sassy's tests too. They show that her liver enzymes are a bit high. My vet is not sure if it is an indication of possible infection or a test fluke. We are going to monitor her for another month and then retest again. She's on Proin and he wants me to continue it. I've been dong some research on high liver enzymes in dogs and see that she needs less protein and sodium in her diet, so some changes are in the works here. I use processed cheese to give her pills with cause it works great, but it's also loaded with sodium. So am seeking alternatives. Peanut butter is too sticky, pill pockets are too expensive etc. Also going to change up on dry dog food as neither are really eating this stuff anymore. Also considering maybe fixing up some chicken breast as a meat alternative. They are cheap right now. My little brain will be busy here. And I"m still working besides, so not a lot of time to monkey with this stuff.

Enough rattling about dogs here. Time to be off and going. Change bed day, run a vac and then head up to town to bank, store etc., Wishing you all a great day. Those under the weather, hope you feel better soon, those on the road, travel safe, those making plans to head south or hit the road for the first time, happy planning and many happy travels.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Great news about Tessa----am hoping things will continue to improve, even if it means doing the pill thing a lot. I hope Sassy's tests were in error. Time will tell, I guess. Older dogs, like older humans, require constant care and monitoring, it seems. But the love they provide is well worth the care.

We are experiencing part of the rainstorm up here in the Adirondacks, too. Heavy rains predicted, accompanied by horrendous winds later on----up to 60 mph, they are saying. Hence, I put up my awning early, gathered dogs, food, clothes, and whatnot and came here into my house for the first time since I arrived here in May. I am guessing that this will be a day to tackle my movies, videos, pictures and all to bin them up so I can take them to Potsdam where I found some places that will digitize them for me. It will cost a small fortune, I am sure, but it will be worth it, especially if my brother will go in on the cost with me as he mentioned he would. Then I will tackle the kitchen cabinets---ACK!

I have the heat on in here as I was freezing.....warm fleece on along with warm socks and slippers. It has begun to rain out there now. The dogs are nestled next to the heater. I am hoping I can make sure that Dinah will ask to go out to pee before she just squats anywhere as she has been known to do----she never was in a house prior to finding me, I am sure, and so to keep the rugs dry I have been putting her in her hut if I have to leave her. This may be a good time to try to housebreak her so when I get to FL, she can go free in the house.

I finished mowing the big field yesterday with the brush hog, and will tackle the lower one and the cabin area on the next sunny day. The cost of diesel fuel is over 4.50 up here now----disgusting. Gas is also now 4.15 per gallon. ACK!

I hope you all are safe from whatever Mother Nature has in store today, and that you will find something fun to do.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Nothing much going on in my little corner of the world of course. Same old, same old. I did drive myself to the docs yesterday. ? Can't remember if I told ya that or not somewhere??? Other than it being a little strain to get up into the truck I did good. But by time 9pm rolled around last night I was pooped. Twice in and out of the truck and a few times in and out of the trailer to take Shade out to P was enough for my legs and I pooped out. So Kelly had to take her out last night after she got home from work.

Only thing going on around here is rain again. Nothing hard or torrential but just a slow steady drizzle. Funny not much coming down right now but the drops sound big and it makes me thing it's just the trees. But it's actual rain as there are to many big drops sounding on the roof and it's been going on for to long to be just the trees shedding water.

Need to do some major house cleaning today. It's a mess in here and I'm having visiting company tomorrow. The social worker from the hospital is coming to go over paperwork and help me fill some out to get assistance for the hospital, prescriptions, food stamps and financial assistance cause I sure don't know when I will be able to go back to work or if I will be able to go back to work at all. I have asked about going back to work but no one wants to give me any kind of an answer. Sooooo? I just might be looking at NOT working. Kelly only work a certain number of hours at WalMart and really can't carry the financial load by herself on her pay alone. Thankfully David is helping out too but he also has his own life and bills to worry about. So hopefully I can get some help somewhere!!!!

OK, enough blathering and finger flapping. Need to pour another cup of coffee, do a little reading and catching up. Then I need to get busy on cleaning up this place. Hope ya'll have a great day. Have fun doing whatever. Remember that that ya'll need to stay safe!!!

Love to all

Morning to All... Just a quick jump in and say "Hey"..and that Ms Reba is starting to eat a little better..she's still not eating her own food but any food as far as I'm concerned works for me and thee.....however I did manage to add some rice and veggies to her mixture...(don't even wanna tell ya ).. and she ate it all.. in fact she was in my face this morning...took a few pictures and I should have done a video DUH.. but it was funny to watch her carry on so..

Sue..glad to hear good news on Tessa..and I know it seems if it's not one it's the other ..it's why I have put that saying "Go with the flow" cause it's the only way I tend to handle this ..but sure pray that Sassy will be ok too..!

Echo.. sure glad you are doing some what better..it might take a while before you can go back to some sort of work..but if not you might be able to go on Disability you've worked most your life and you're entitled to it.. I pray everything will work out for you and Kelly..

Soos I know you have got to be getting ready to say..."Heading out, Waggins Hoe ".... cause it's been getting a bit chilly up your way..but I bet those tree colors are looking mighty fine....Now listen up lady...you best make sure we get to meet this time...I mean I'm a little to the North West of ya...

Psst..Ms Dawn... now this time when ya back up... make sure Paul is out there guiding you ! Yes, back up cameras work but not on the sides...:) Safe journey Sistah !

Ok.. so I need to get photo bucket to stop playing around and I'll post a few cute ones of Ms Reba in action !

Thanks all for your kind words and prayers...

God Bless
Zeee and Critters 3...

What adorable pics!

The weather has certainly changed here! Very chilly now. I wore my fall coat to work yesterday. It might even snow in northern MN tonight! Yikes! I guess San Diego had a real heat wave last weekend. 101 to 103 in SD and up along the coast from there on Saturday! That is totally unheard of! They have no AC in most houses/apts along there. At least they can hang out at the beaches and in the ocean to cool off there.

Got the day off today! My GM hadn't realized that I wasn't getting a day off this week since I worked my two off days over the weekend for my manager, so last night she figured it out and called and told me she would work for me today! So I slept in until 11 and now will do some laundry and go up to the store for a few things. It is payday today so will have to stop in to work to pick up my check later.

I get my furniture delivered tomorrow! Can't wait! Luckily it isn't too heavy so moving it to the other apartment in two weeks won't be too big of a deal. I am so anxious to get in there so I can finally start unpacking and get settled in!

Hope you all have a great day where ever you are and what ever you are doing!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
