SisterT, Roadweaver's Daughter

Come on in and say hello.

SisterT, Roadweaver's Daughter

Postby sistert » Mon Sep 17, 2012 8:22 am

Hello everyone!

This is just a quick note to say "Hello"! My name is TeAntae and I am Louise's (Roadweaver) daughter. I've joined this happy group to help my mom get ready for her new life RVing as well as to learn a few things for myself. Mom's excitement has gotten my husband interested now! SWEET!

I hope to contribute more.

Until next time,
TeAntae

Welcome TeAntae...this might be a first...mom and daughter members..this is so great, even heart warming as truly many of us don't get this kind of support. This is going to be so much fun!

Welcome, TeAntae! I'm trying to say your name in my head and I'm struggling. tay-Ahn'-tay?

It's cool you're here not just to support Louise, but also for your own interest. What a happy coincidence! :)

- SO CLOSE! tee-Ahn'-tay :D Proper spelling: TéAntáe, I just don't normally show the accents when I'm typing.

Mom and I are one of the original "best friends forever". We've hung out all our lives and I've been all for this RVing decision since the beginning. When she first told me she was really going to retire and get her RV, I thought "I'm really miss her when we can't hang out" but then I realized it's really no different than the way things are now. She's on the road with her job so much but we stay in contact via phone, text messages, Skype, and emails so we're good!

At the moment, my plan is to test the waters in Florida for myself anyway. I hope to move to Florida about the same time as mom if I can get a cooking job at WDW. If I really enjoy it, I'll let hubby know it's time to sell the house and get his butt down here. If I don't, then I just turn back around and figure out where else we should consider.

Welcome and glad to have you with us. It is sure nice when family can support the decision to go on the road. So often that doesn't seem to be the case. And it looks like you and your husband will be wanting to do it yourselves! As said, it IS contagious.

Yes, my best friend is my daughter. I am also happy to say that my son-in-law is also supportive and a wonderful addition to our family. He insisted on going with us to the show so that he could give the RV a thorough once over and ask the technical questions that we would not ask. He has said repeatedly for me not to think about where they will sleep, they will get a tear drop, sleep on the floor or a tent.

The plan is that when I go to Florida for the winter, TeAntae will come down and stay with me while looking for a job. If she stays and her husband comes down, they will get a house with a mother/daughter area so that I would stay there in the winter and when I get too old to travel, I would have a place. Frankly, it was my son-in-law that told us that. We were both surprised.

I would not be surprised if he wanted them to get a motorhome, it was him that asked if we could go to the workamping seminar.
