Moody Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Moody Monday

Postby Redwahine » Mon Sep 17, 2012 7:20 am

Good morning everyone. Tyler got me up early and I could not go back to sleep. It is cloudy, overcast outside and drizzling...one of those moody, wanna climb back in bed with a good book days :P But Tyler wants to be fed, so up I am! I don't know about other fur babies, but you can set your watch by Tyler's stomach. He is very polite. He just comes and sits next to or in front of you until you acknowledge him and feed and let him out to do his business

Back to polishing all those silver pieces. This is my downsizing. Getting it all in someone else's hands so when it is time to move into a land yacht I will have taken care of a lot of the Stuff :P

This morning is meusli, berries, walnuts with almond milk. Fresh squeezed OJ and coffee. Anyone on board for the healthy breakfast, there's plenty :P Had DH's son and GS for dinner last night. Made meatballs, country gravy, cheesy potatoes, salad and chocolate mayonnaise pudding cake. I ate way too much last night and neede to eat a little less

Everyone have a great Monday and if traveling stay safe. Aloha

Good Morning to All from a cool and gray central Indiana. Finally after a horrible hot summer it has cooled down around here. I love it. The Driver is in jeans , t shirt and long sleeved flannel shirt with his hands under his arms.......No way it is that cold. Saw the weather report a few minutes ago and it is supposed to go to high 30s by next weekend at night. Whoopie. He is grumbling. Will be waiting today for refrigerator repair person to show up. Been waiting since 9/4 - the joys of living in the country. Sure hope he can fix it. It is working okay but it is snowing inside the freezer part. Not icing up but snowing.
Tomorrow Bill takes his "new" , 1998 Dodge Ram 4 x 4, to him truck into town to get graphics put on it. Don't know what they will look like, it is a big secret. Its been like an episode of Trick my Truck since he got it.
Been working on another quilt, one I started 3 or 4 years ago and some necklaces. We still haven't decided if we are going to Mexico this winter or not. Probably will. As it is supposed to be a cold winter here this year.

Good morning Red, Carol & everyone!

The kitchen is open and you have a choice of doughnuts, eggs, bacon, sausage and coffee or orange juice.

Red, I know what you mean about our furry friends getting us up to be fed and let out. Ours does the same thing, although now that it's getting cooler out, he'd rather stay in bed a little longer.

Carol, I sure hope you are able to get your refrigerator fixed. You've waited long enough, so it's time to get it running right.

It's starting out chilly here again this morning. We have rain moving in later today and tomorrow, so we're trying to get the grass cut and clothes hung on the clothesline to take advantage of the dry weather. When I get home from working out, I'll put the turkey in the brine and it'll go in the oven tomorrow. That'll make for lots of good meals including turkey noodle soup.

Have a safe day everyone!

Red - he's adorable. Now I know why you were excited to see the little guy.

Yogurt for me this morning. The last two mornings I baked biscuits in the DO - none of that today. Pssst Mitch - my canned biscuits have been coming out beautifully as well. I need to graduate to homemade biscuits someday.

I'm going to call to get an appointment to get the axle flipped on the Land Dinghy. That will give us another 3-4" of clearance. I'm getting tired of dragging on the driveway and stuff.

Oh and I had to wake the furbabies up this morning. Think we wore them out this weekend. I also need to see about getting Oscar a ramp. He just can't get enough power in his back legs to jump up in the truck.

The rain got here early this morning. The weather man says it won't be out of here until 8:00 PM but it looks like it's moving faster than that to me. Wishful thinking?

My sister's granddaughters had a couple of those little cars. They called them Flintstone Mobiles.

If I was ambitious I would move my van out in the rain and let it soak the bugs to see if they were any easier to remove. The farmers don't know what to do with themselves when it rains. My DH was on the phone with a friend for an hour and we have had 2 guys come visit. The local bait shop they use to meet at closed down.

I would like to try putting a turkey in brine but we don't have enough room in the refrigerator for that. My DH doesn't like turkey that much so would be complaining about no room in the refrigerator.

Martha - you could brine it in a cooler. Just pack it in ice.

Good Morning... whew you all seem so ambitious... send some energy my way...
My daughter thinks I should sell my mobile home and my motor home... that does not sound good to me... but time will tell!
My breaks went out on my car on Sat... Pete my grandson mechanic took it to his work... he is service manager at the Oldsmobile Cadillac dealer here in Bloomington/normal... sure seems strange not to have my car...
I do not understand what brine is... Irmi please explain it...

Kathleen, I make a brine of water, Kosher salt & sugar and put the turkey in this solution. If it is not completely covered with the water solution, I turn the turkey several times within a 24 hour period. Rinse it well and bake it in the oven. The water and salt penetrate the meat and it is moist all the way to the carcass. I've done this for about the last ten years and would never bake a turkey the tradional way anymore.

GOOD AFTERNOON SISTAHS.

Did a Good Morning but the stupid internet went out and would not reconnect. Ended up having to reboot my laptop. So the morning post that I did and also copied and pasted got totally lost. GRRRRRRR

Nothing much going on here. Had a doctors appt this morn at 9 to get my blood checked. I am suppose to take 4mgs of Coumadin tonight and 3mg tomorrow night as I have to go back to the doc on Wednesday and have it checked again.

It's raining on my roof today which totally makes me remember my Mom and her love of hearing rain on a tin roof. Sure do miss her and my Dad with all my heart. What I wouldn't give for just one day of spending time with them again.

OK, enough blathering. Hope ya'll have a great day, lots of fun or lazily reading that book. But remember that everyone needs to stay safe!!!

Love to all
