Sunday planning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday planning

Planning? What's that? Good morning all! Sat down with my coffee and laptop this morning and looked up the PA Mem Site--8 hours/400 mi from here  . Guess I DIDN'T plan!  I think I'll save that trip for another time, and head to Lake Ontario for my overnight instead...So nice to wake up in the morning and see what you all were doing/thinking yesterday. Morning person that I am, I rarely spend any time online in the evenings! But I like getting to know you, to hear your stories, share your experiences. Soos, I'm still hoping we can get together before you head back to FL. The Adirondacks are so beautiful, especially this time of year--I'm hoping to take a "leaf-peeper" trip, so maybe I could stop by! BTW, I'm great at starting conversation, but if it's breakfast you're looking for, I don't cook   So ladies, Sunday blessings to you and be safe!! :P

Good morning Carol & everyone that follows!

Carol, it sounds like the PA Mem Site will have to be at least a 2, maybe a 3 day trip. LOL! But it's fun to plan just the same.

I'm going to meet a friend that I workout with at her church this morning. She knows I am a former church organist and I told her I'd be willing to substitute as organist on an as needed basis, but I don't want to play every Sunday anymore, as I want to have the winters free to head south. Speaking of heading south, the mornings have a nip in the air and the day time temperatures are only in the mid to high 70's. I'm already looking forward to the FL GTG and seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

I've been trying some new crockpot recipes that I've saved to take to FL. Last nights dinner was Hungarian Goulash in the crockpot and it really hit the spot. I took a turkey out of the freezer yesterday so that will be on the menu real soon. I brine my turkeys and the meat is so nice and tender that way.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning Carolb, Irmi and all to follow.

We have had a light rain since I woke up this morning. I am watching the weather and they are saying heavier showers are on the way. I would imagine this will be a day to stay in the MH. Guess I will work on more shredding and throwing away old tax records. Remind me again I don't have to keep more than 30 years of records! I shredded a bunch before we left, but still have more to go. Should be able to just file short form going forward since no farm anymore and no job.

I am not a breakfast eater either, but I do have plenty of coffee. I think there is a blueberry muffin left and I have sausage and eggs I would be happy to whip up for you.

Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Happy Sunday to all! Had a nice gtg with Maggie and Mark down at Brazos Bend State Park yesterday. Maggie made peach cobbler in a dutchnoven for us. (pictures on gtg topic) Yummy! Wishing I had some for breakfast this morning :P

Heading to the store. DH invited son & fam over for tonight to celebrate son's birthday. So I'm gonna make son's favorite dish his mom (deceased) used to make - meatballs. And cheesy potatoes. And chocolate mayonnaise cake!!

Weather is cooler, but muggy with passing showers. Nice day for being outdoors :P

Everyone have a fun and safe day.

Good Morning Carol, Irmi, and Whom ever follows in or decides to peek in...:)

Yesterday I was busy, busy, busy.. making Liquid Hand soap from left over bar soap and made another batch of Laundry detergent...Yes, I'm frugal..LOL cause I find the prices going ridiculous....so I take a little time and make this stuff up and I can't complain when I figure out how much I saved and what it costs to make...that's the part that has you smiling ...yeah I can buy more gadgets ...wooo hooo !!!

Today we take Ms Reba up to the Vets..I'm a tad bit nervous ..she's 16 1/2 now ..and her appetite is horrible..it's been an on going issue plus she does have a large tumor which has to come out..so I ask if you can spare me a few minutes today.. please say a prayer for Ms Reba..

Irmi, I hear you with that Crock Pot...You know mine has been going in fact I joked about it being bronzed and buried with me..cause you know when I'm traveling it sits in the sink and is on cooking...LOL....

Weather is getting nippy here too and I'm getting my bins in order for when I can leave here...Motor home should be back by the end of Sept... I drop it off when I come back and it's parked there waiting on those great guys to start work on her...but I'm always put to the side cause they know I'm not going anywhere...(been using them for over 25 years) I don't mind as I have more room in my driveway ..LOL..and when they are done they bring it back home to me... They call that "Special Service " I call it.. "Save your Butt cause you have to do it to keep me "... LOL>

I made Pat's Grape Salad for hubby's church and they loved it and in fact I had to print the recipes up to make sure all had it...So I told the Preacher that was my good deed done..LOL.. Now I'm making a pan of brownies for hubby to take to church with him for the Sunday School treat...

Hope you all have a wonderful day and get out and see that beautiful scenery...sure is getting gorgeous up here as the trees are turning colors... Safe Journey to All...

oops Red you popped in too at the same time... Glad to hear you had a great GTG with Maggie too..Peach Cobbler..Ok that's always a gooder as we say in Pa...:)

Psst.. Ms Dawn.. you and I were posting at the same time...say Hi to Paul and Momma.. talk with you later on when we get back from Saul's with Reba...

God's Blessings Shine Down On All..

Good morning ladies
Checking in from sons iPad in the living room. The. Internet doesn't reach into my room, but that will be resolved soon. Baby shower today, carpooling with other grandma. Did the infant CPR class Wednesday night, it was very good and the nurse instructor was did a great job with her dramatization :D  they also covered SIDS and the new way they do things now with newborns. No more swaddling and they put them on their backs and no more bumper pads in the cribs. I was glad I agreed to go, and even though I,m already CPR certified, refresher is always good and I did learn something.
Our weather has been great. Cools off at night now and I had to dig out my flannel blanket.
I,m finally sleeping good at night now.
Everything else is pretty much the same in my world, no complaints with the man upstairs.
Ya,ll have a great day and be safe.

Morning Ladies from the beautiful woods of Hohenwald, TN. My wonderful stepdaughter cooked a typical southern country breakfast: sausage, gravy and biscuits, eggs your way. Yummy.

Irmi, there's a nip in the air here too. Missed the football game at the high school Friday night but I know it's fall because the SIL is getting the duck blind ready for hunting season. Ya'll come on down. Taco soup for supper!

Well Good Morning. I have coffee and that’s about it. I do plan to make peach crisp in a little bit…if you care to wait. But it will be made in the oven…burn ban…still no rain. The local farmer’s marker had some wonderful peaches and nectarines that were brought in from Colorado. I was even thinking ahead and bought the ice cream yesterday! Sometimes my CRS does take a rest!

My weekend starting with one of my friends and me fulfilling her bucket list entry from our trip to Custer last month. She had wanted to get a pedicure when it was just going to be the two of us going. Then our husbands decided they wanted to go and her pedicure just didn’t fit in with everyone else’s bucket list on the agenda. So we had decided we would do it after we were home. Friday afternoon we went to a spa in Yankton, neither of us had ever had a pedicure before and it was a lovely experience, but probably my last. Think I would rather spend my $50 + tip on something a little more substantial.

I’m pleased to hear that everyone is finding receptive eaters when you try the grape salad. Actually I surprised that so many of you have never had it before. It’s been a favorite recipe in this part of the country for over 10 years!

I’m going to have to find another Sunday night activity. It appears that Lifetime has decided to cancel my favorite show, Army Wives. I watched it from the beginning and all my friends knew better than to call me on Sunday night while it was on! Really the only show that I liked to watch.

Have a great day everyone.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Oh I love pedicures n but have never spent close to 50$ on one. I'm hoping they did something vet special for that price. I almost got one this week but the place I looked st didn't have the massage chairs and that'd a must for me, too.

Peaches and I will be moving on today. Mt. Rainier here we come.

I'm still way way behind on my blog. One I of these days.

Good Morning,

I just had my first mani/pedi for $35 complete with massage chair. Mani isn't such a big deal as my nails come and go, but definitely will do pedi again.

Will watch for Beth at Mt. Rainier today tho we are coming from a different direction and possibly different area of the park - haven't figured that out yet. We went to Mt. St. Helens yesterday. Beautiful day but mountain was hazy due to Mt. Adams' wildfire(s).

I keep telling myself I will come up with recipes for GTGs - just don't cook like that anymore.

Finally got at answer about which way we will go back to Arizona after we leave my daughter's next week - Glacier NP and Yellowstone are possiblities depending on the weather! I am exhausted from the go, go, go, but have never been to Glacier and I love Yellowstone.

Hope all have a wonderful day and safe travels.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL!

YES, Carol! I should be here through September, and perhaps into part of October. Our colors are just getting pretty, so, in a couple of weeks, it should be beautiful here! I would be happy to show you around the area, for sure, and would love to meet you! I could plug you into plain old house power to run lights and your heater/furnace, which you will almost certainly need. After my docotr's appointment tomorrow morning, I will know better if I will go for the surgery now, or wait until I get back in the spring. I will let you know by tomorrow night, for sure, what I and she decide I should do. I hope we can arrange a visit for you here!

The kids just left for home again as Mandy has classes to teach tomorrow. They wouldn't go for leaving Orion with me! So now here I am online again. We took a great walk to the pond and on some of the other trails this morning, with all 4 of the dogs----the huge pony dogs and my two smaller females. What a zoo! I will include a pic of the rainbow Orion and I saw last night when we walked down at sundown, and one of him on his first tricycle I got out for him today!

Hope all goes well for your 4-footer, Barbzee-----old dogs are always a reason to be fearful for any vet visits. I will be thinking of you both.

Anita, I hope you and Beth can cross paths, and that you will have a fun trip through those two beautiful Fed parks.

Time to get some breakfast, although I realize it's now lunchtime. Happy Sunday to all!

Orion and I saw this last night at our pond! It was breathtakingly gorgeous!

My DH went off to a horse show so our usual Sunday steak dinner will be late. That's ok because I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast and about 3 cups of coffee.

There are some crock pot recipes I would like to try but most recipes make so much that I don't want to eat it all week and the freezer is full. I put a leftover ham bone in the crock pot to make sure that it doesn't taste freezer burnt. If it's ok I'll add some beans.

That peach cobbler looked so good. I bought some Idaho peaches the other day at a big fruit stand. They aren't as good as the cashier said they were. Blue Bell has been advertising some peach cobbler ice cream. It's ok but doesn't taste a lot like peaches. Red made me hungry for meat ball stew. That's a dish that's cooked around here, meat balls in a brown gravy. I don't cook many things in a gravy anymore because we eat too much when I cook things like that.

Soos, Orion looks like he's ready to roll. I bet you all have a great time. That was a beautiful picture of the rainbow.

We have some rain coming this afternoon or tonight. I need to go fix a cage in the old house to put my kittens in. I washed them a bed. I hope they don't use it instead of the litter box. It looks like they are using the litter box now.

The guy that rents the field across from us cut some hay the other day and has been bailing it. It looks like they are in high gear today bailing and stacking to get done before the rain. My son is probably glad he's not here or his dad would volunteer him to go help. His dad goes to a horse show but is quick to volunteer him.

I always seem to be doing a late afternoon coffee, and have done absolutely nothing. One son came over to do a few things to the camper or rv, or whatever it is (see other thread!) One tire has a cut in the sidewall, am glad he found that! I have had a blowout in my car outside of Atlanta and my husband and I had two on our first motorhome. One on this one would put a quick end to my rving career!! It's long past coffee time and I think it is ice cream time. Soos, the picture of Orion is so cute as usual. Is he walking? That looks like fancy trike too, I thought it rocked or something but that curved thing is only on the front. Is that some kind of furniture protector? They sure have a lot for babies now that we didnt have for ours! You all have a fantastic day! Wendy
