SSSSSSSaturday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SSSSSSSaturday!

Postby carolb » Sat Sep 15, 2012 4:50 am

Good morning ladies! And yes, Dawn, it's Saturday! :D Missed coffee with you all yesterday--was in "work mode." I still sub and yesterday was my first full day, so my morning routine went out the window... :? Ha, fixing beans this morning! Not for breakfast, but how about refried or chili for later today? Bro is coming over as we have tons of tomatoes to can--don't know if you all heard about that saga! Thinking I'll take off on Sunday morning for an overnight to the 9/11 Memorial site in PA. Cool fall weather, not much color yet, but I've been wanting to do that trip. And I still get 5% cash back on gas using my Discover card (til the end of Sept). Guess we don't whine about the gas prices, huh? Every mile on the road is worth it! Hope you all have a good day! :P

Raining and chilly here in Paris, Ar...what a change in weather from what I've had on this trip! Rained all day yesterday, at times really hard. But that's ok, everyday in Hope is a good one!

Yes, Carolb, whining about the fuel prices is allowed as long as it doesn't keep you at home!!

Kids have some kind of shindig BBQ planned for today and since the weather is so wet everyone will be on the back porch or in the house. Sure am glad I have Hope to escape to when it gets to loud for me! Chewy will probably have to stay in here most of the time and keep the Samcat company. What part of "she nips, don't pet her" can't folks wrap their brains around? At least I don't have that problem at the GTG's, the ladies all get it, thank you very much. She just doesn't want anyone touching her, other than that she's fine around people, and we've worked very hard to get her to that point. sigh.

Hope everyone has a super day today, stay dry, drive safe and have fun!

Good morning all. This morning it is bacon, eggs, toast, and fresh squeezed OJ. :P Y'all come and get it!! I spent 3 1/2 hours inside one of those MRI tubes yesterday freezing my butt off! 3 different tests :x I swear they think these things up just to make more money - specially when an at-fault auto accident and the other guy is paying :x All they would tell me that, yes in deed I still had a brain. Sometimes I wonder  A couple more Neuro tests and then see Doc again for results.

The Vet called with great news that the lab results from all of the tumors, cysts they cut off of Tyler came back negative for anything BAD. I am so happy. He's my best friend in the world

It is a little overcast and drizzling up in our NW neck of the woods. Maggie went down yesterday and set up camp. I hope it didn't rain all night for her. I talked DH into driving me down this afternoon for a little gtg (I can't drive yet with my head and neck injury) Brazos Bend looks really nice and I look forward to exploring the trails and gtg with Maggie. :P

I get exhausted reading all the cleaning, down sizing, fixing, moving, booboos  I love the part about sitting around the campfire, hike new trails, reading, exploring, seeing new places and GTGs. That is the fun of being an "arm chair" RVr. I don't have to deal with all that other stuff (yet!) and can dream and live the good stuff vicariously through you all

Everyone have a glorious Saturday. Take care of yourselves and stay safe :P

   Thanks Carolb. Glad to know what day it is.

Red, am really glad to hear nothing BAD with Tyler. Now for the same news from all your MRI's. I know you are going to have fun at your GTG with Maggie.

Sharon, maybe this time they will get "she nips, don't touch". People reaching for Belle can really scare her too. She cannot see them and if they reach for her suddenly she gets really startled. I have problems with people not seeing her and stepping on her or kicking her occasionally even though I tell everyone, she cannot see you so you have to watch out for her. I am used to looking down when I walk to see where she is, other people aren't. That is why I started putting a colorful tee on her when we are around people not used to her. I would imagine she will be in one of her outfits at the GTG's so she can be seen easily. I am going to put her in her Halloween outfit for the TX GTG on Halloween. Then on Sunday, she will have her cheerleader outfit on for football. Chuck used to laugh at me dressing her up like a little doll. She even has pajamas and a robe for cold camping nights.

It is still cool here this morning. Just now climbed to 60. Not supposed to be raining much today which is good since I need to get some laundry done. The guys who are supposed to fix by booboo have not shown up yet. I am guessing it is because it has been so rainy for the last couple of days. If they don't show up on Monday, I am just going to call them and let them know I will be pulling out on Tuesday. I am getting itchy feet and am ready to head out somewhere else. Need to get back to Ft. Worth to get my new couch and satellite system installed. I am looking forward to having DirecTV through the whole rig, not just in the livingroom area.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning, ladies! It's cool and cloudy here today, hopefully we have seen the last of the summer triple-digit heat! McDonald's Egg McMuffin is on the menu for breakfast - I'm taking Oliver to the kennel for the weekend and will stop by McD's on the way home. Then it's off for a haircut and some quick shopping with my my Kohl's discount card.

Tonight I'm driving to Tyler to attend my 42nd high school reunion, hence the quick shopping trip (I truly have nothing to wear  ). I lived in a really small town (Van) near Tyler during my junior high and high school years, with a tiny school system. So they are having a multi-decade get-together for the reunion. I haven't seen any of these people since I graduated, and I debated over even going. But I thought, why not, let's just go see how everyone turned out. :D I'll spend the night at the hotel then come home tomorrow.

Stay safe, everyone, and have a great weekend!

Good Morning everyone... I will have a glass of that fresh squeezed oj... sounds good... and would love to help can tomatoes... it has been a long time since I did that...

I will go check out the progress on my grandson Tim's house... they completely gutted it and did electric, insulation and dry wall... wow they will never be finished... when they are done with Tim's house they will move to Pete's house! he has gutted the house he got also... but his is a huge job 6 bedrooms! but it will not be 6 when they are finished... my daughter Margie did not think they both would get houses the same year but it worked out for them...

I took Shadow for his bath and hair cut and nail trim now he looks good... I can vacuum up all of the clumps of hair now...

So glad the tests came back ok for Tyler... our four footed friends mean a lot to us...

Have a great day everyone

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Very chilly and wet here this morning after a good hard wind and rain last night. Temperature is still only 54, and no sun peeking through as yet.

I am typing this message today on my new Acer, refurbished, laptop that cost me 299 bucks, and, after spending just about all day yesterday learning my way around Windows 7 Home Premium, downloading what I need to function on here, trying to import my address book, setting up my email account, and much more, here I am! I am delighted to know I can now use Facebook and some other programs that my old computer just would NOT function in. (I had to delete over 900 entries in my contacts list on email as I loaded my contacts list three times, and got some names I have never, ever seen!) I will work on getting that list done at another time!

The kids are coming this afternoon with Orion, and they will go to Joe's cousin's birthday party tonight and leave me and Orion here! YIPPEE!!

I managed to get 3/4ths of the field mowed yesterday with the tractor and brush hog before the rains hit and I ran out of diesel fuel. Perhaps tomorrow I will get more fuel and can finish the job. All in all, I am slowly making progress toward my getting out of here sometime in October -----most likely the end of October.

I am so glad to hear about Tyler's lab biopsy results! another YIPPEE! Now all you need to do is rest, Red, and let that brain recover!

Wonderful to hear from Kathleen, too, this morning! Shadow must feel so good with his new cut!

Time to run now before the kids arrive and I am in the tub!

Happy Saturday to you all!

Happy travels!

It's sunny and not too hot yet. Don't think we have any rain predicted today. It is suppose to be near 90 today and tomorrow and then next week will cool of to low 80's. That will be nice.

Don't know what I will do today but go to Walmart to get some milk replacement for my kittens. Wish I had bit the bullet and picked up some yesterday. After I go to a few stores I just hate to face going to Walmart. I walked all over the mall looking for some earrings I was willing to pay for. With the price of gold so high I couldn't get over what they wanted for the smallest ones. The ones that I have make my ears itch so can't wear just anything.

I graduated from a small high school, 32 seniors. My dad had retired and we moved when I was a senior. I was only with them for 7 months. I was pissed that we moved when I was a senior so I'm sure I was a pain but they were very nice to me. We had our 50th reunion this year and there were several classed before and after ours invited. I had people talking to me that I didn't have a clue who they were. I only really knew my class and the ones I went on to college with. My brothers were younger so some knew them. The school started having school wide reunions every 5 years but they aren't well attended by our class.

My sister is working this weekend so next weekend she will be off. If the weather is good we will probably go to the lake again. Hope the fishing is better than our last trip.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Reading of the cooler temps that ya are getting is giving me the shivers this morning. I have no idea what the temp is outside this morning tho I did turn off the A/C when I crawled out of bed. I woke up all alone in my bed this morning! Really scared the poop out of me until I managed to get sat up and realize that Kelly was not on the couch. Figured out that she must have grabbed Shade and taken her outside.

Feel really blah this morning. Nothing to pin point, I'm not woozy, in pain or sick to my stomach but just blah. I think I could go back to bed and sleep with no problem. Feeling like I don't want to move. I sure hope it goes away, I really don't want to feel like this all day, it just reminds me to much of being sick!

Need to make a couple of calls today. My BFF called yesterday and let me know that she will be home for the next 2wks as she had surgery. She didn't say what the surgery was for. I sure miss her, haven't seen her in over 4yrs. I think we are due for a huge face to face gab session!

Graduated from high school in '72' and have never been to a reunion. I hated the school I went to. The year I started high school the rezoned the school districts and I ended up being the only student that got transferred to the other high school in town. Went there 3rys and by the time I graduated I think I had made 2 friends and they were not what I would call close either. Just 2 kids that would talk to me. The lines were sharply drawn between the 2 high schools. So not only did I come from the other district I also came from what was considered the bad side of town so I was never accepted by the school in general. My 3yrs of high school were no fun for me at all.

OK, gonna go read. Hope ya'll have a super day, have fun, relax hard and stay safe.

Love to all

Good morning friends. Have we established it IS Sat???? Saturday always feels different somehow, even tho when I worked Sat was not sat but another day! (Need more coffee) Last reunion I went to was my 25th. Enjoyed it. There were a lot of old people there! All the football jocks had developed paunches and receding hairlines (not that there's anything wrong with thin ning hair!) All the geeks (Im sure there was another term then, nerds maybe?) were doctors and lawyers.I had two really good friends that have since both been killed in auto accidents who I probably would still be in touch with. A few more I keep up with via FB. Lady Texan (is it cari) you are brave to get your haircut the same day of the event. Its a beautiful day here, and the nights would be perfect campfire nights. Everyone have a SAFE and a FUN day. Wendy

Slept in this morning because I keep waking up in the middle of the night and staying awake for more than an hour. One neat thing I did is open the blinds over the window above my head when I was awake and saw Carl Sagan's 'billions and billions of stars." The sky is dark here even though there is a lodge and restaurant/gift shop plus visitor center across the river from me here in Zion.

Also, had to get dressed late last night, put on my head-lamp and take my awning down because it was so windy. Not windy now, but things were flapping around too much to make me comfortable, so there I was in the dark getting everything down and shut. Also, washed my windows inside and out yesterday, so I have a good view today.

So, today it is out to the visitor center and museum. Very nice campsite with even some shade, and on the river, so very pleasant. Going to be here for a week so lots of time for exploring.

All I have for breakfast are those frozen sausage-croissant breakfast sandwiches. Actually they are very good and easy in the microwave, assuming you have power.

Late again! Just wanted to jump in on the reunion thing. I went to one school district from kindergarten thru 11th grade, then moved in with my mom in Minneapolis, so I ended up going to a different school for my senior year. Only made one friend there that whole year. I now go to the reunions for the first school since I know so many more people there (graduated with 650 other students) and no one knows I didn't graduate from there. I even attended their graduation party and everyone (except my closest friends) just figured I wasn't in any of their classes that last year. I have never gone to the reunions for the other school that I actually graduated from.

Speaking of graduations, my brother's stepson just graduated (finally) from college and they had a party for him today. I stopped there after work for awhile. He is a nice kid and is now going into the Nat'l Guard to train to be an air traffic controller.

Never ever leave your awning out when you go to bed or leave the rv to go somewhere unless you have a really good tie down system. It's a good way to find out if the awning will indeed cover the whole top of your rig. Especially in the desert. The Grand Canyon is considered high desert. You're lucky the wind wasn't bad enough that you could get it in by yourself. I've seen wind come up out of nowhere so bad that 3 people hanging onto it couldn't save an awning. Just sayin'.
