Realized It's Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Realized It's Friday

Postby Dawn309 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 8:40 am

Don't know if this is normal or not, but I had to really think about what day it is this morning. Finally realized it's Friday! Things are definitely changing. No alarms, no real concept of what day it is. All I am really keeping track of is how many more days here. I think I am realizing I really am retired.

I have sausage and eggs for anyone wanting breakfast. All I want is my coffee. Decided this morning that I am going to start putting the coffee on at night and setting the timer for about 6:30 so when I get up, I can grab a cup as I take the dogs outside. They did not even get their leashes on before we headed out to their pen this morning. They were really anxious!

It is really nice and cool here this morning. I checked the temperature and it was 60.8 degrees when we came back in. I did think to put my winter robe on before we went out. I was glad for it. Mom did not bring a winter robe so she was a little cool sitting out waiting on the dogs to finish. I see a trip to Walmart to get her a heavier robe. The high today is only supposed to be 70 today with rain off and on all day. I have been continuing to downsize while we are here. I find more things to throw away everyday. I figure that is going to go on for awhile as I adjust to this new life. Still have not found my sweater I was knitting. I know it has to be in one of the bays somewhere. Just haven't made it to that bay yet.

The guys who are supposed to be fixing my booboo on Sunshine never showed up yesterday. Hopefully today. I don't know though because it is supposed to rain off and on. CW called and my new sleeper sofa and in motion satellite system I ordered along with some other things are all in now. I had ordered a tire pressure monitor system they did not have in stock. I explained to the girl I have been dealing with about my booboo. She was laughing at/with me. I am just supposed to call her when we get back to Fort Worth so we can get scheduled. They do not have any hookups there, so I will find a CG close by. I sure hope they can get everything done in just one day.

I think I will spend the day working on shredding all those old tax records from the 80's I brought with me since I ran out of time before I had to be out of my house after the sale. That is going to open up a whole new bin. I will be able to get my yarn back from Paul's rig.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning Dawn! Where is everyone else?

Yesterday I went to Walmart to return some things and pick up a couple other little things I still needed. I can't wait to finally get into the other apartment and start putting stuff away and get settled in!

On the way home (the Walmart I go to is way out in the country. Beautiful drive!) I stopped at an animal shelter. They had 3 ferrets there. I played with two of them. They are so sweet and goofy! I really miss having them! Will have to look into getting one or two when I get settled in.

Off to work in a couple hours. Doing laundry now. Looks like it will be a beautiful day today, sunny and around 70. Definately smells like fall tho! The leaves are falling already (turning dull yellows and browns due to lack of rain)!

Hope you alll have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Dawn,I've been a little sporadic with the forum lately but do remember that your mom had a scare..so glad they found no blood clots. Does she have a recliner? I'm glad you found a better sofa/bed. I will use my dish when I travel but much prefer it if they have cable. I'm not that much of a TV watcher anymore. I keep up with news but sometimes think I might stop doing that too. I hope they show today to fix your boo boo.
Since Rudy decided to roll in some turkey poop one day this week, I've decided to put him on a leash anytime he goes out. He loves a leash and if he is some distance away from me all I have to do is show him the leash and he comes running. This I am thankful for since traveling there will be no option. He tore the door screen and did a little damage to the trim on the side trying to get out so for now I'm taking him with me but I can tell he is beginning to adjust to the RV. I could still take him back to the house but the sooner he adjusts to new home the better.
I am getting my appetite back and you wouldn't have to invite me but once to share some sausage and eggs.
Enjoy this day...it is a little overcast here but is as beautiful as blue skies after the summer we had.
Barb, I know how much you love ferrets and hope you get some soon. It is looking like your move back home was really a good one.

Tucked back into my spot at boychick's house until the end of Sept, then off for a few days with Carolyn (sunshinecruiser) and Sarah in Tunica. Then back here for a week or so, up to Fayetteville, Ar to see family and then will start the trek south to visit with family and on to the gtg in Tx. Then home. Sure wish it was easier to get into my parking place here. I slip right in with son guiding me ( he's sure not gonna let me hit his house! ) but probably not as easily by myself. I know, quit whining, free power, sewer, water, satelitte comes in, what do I have to whine about?? And as soon as he lets loose with the password, free wifi! Plus he cooked some mighty tasty steaks last nite. That boy knows his BBQ, unlike his dad who wasn't allowed near the grill, he burnt everything.

Had a pretty good T-storm come thru last nite about 9:30 and supposed to have more over the next couple of days. Better get dressed or today is gonna be a pajama day and I need to go to town. I ate all of the buckwheat cakes so you're on your own for breakfast, but I'm sure you can find something in the fridge.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I ordered Mitch's smoker and it was here when I got here yesterday. I've got a couple of small pieces of salmon out to try. Thought that and some cream cheese and crackers would make a nice snack for us later. Can't wait to try it!!

Good Morning from the Washington Coast,

Dawn, not only do I not know what day it is, when I wake up, I have to think about where I am! I know about boo-boos. I backed into a short sign while backing the 5er into a site - hit it with the truck that I had just picked up the day before after $8,000 worth of work following a traffic accident. That 2nd boo-boo wasn't serious enough to fix so I have the reminder.

Barb, I know what you mean about wanting to put stuff away.....I am anxious to get back to Arizona so I can have the camper to myself and start organizing it for full-time living.

Sharon, what a nice set up at your son's. We will be at my younger daughter's in a few days where I am not allowed to park overnight - *#@! homeowners' association.

Today we will move inland and tomorrow go to Mt. St. Helen's.

Good Morning
Dawn - It took me a long time to realize that it wasn't all that important to know what day or date it was after leaving workforce unless I had an appointment. Worried me a lot at first that my mind might be slipping away.

Think I showed great restraint on my trip to Camping World with Wendy last Wednesday but it was still a bit expensive. Just had to keep reminding myself I could get other stuff on another trip and it is a good thing that will not be a frequent shopping place (3 hour drive to get there).

Am getting excited about another chance to use Magic at end of month. Maybe this fall will offer opportunity to make up for all the idle time and lack of use this summer. I sure need the practice.

Have got to start emptying a booth at one of the antique malls. Decided last month to close it and now that I'm not going to be here all month, must get that done earlier than planned.

Anyone notice we now have 600 members? Want to welcome all as I'm behind on doing that and remind all new members to take advantage of the forum member map. You do have to request being added and I strongly encourage you to do so.

Have a great day.

It's afternoon, but here I am anyway!!! Hello everyone from Colorado Rodeo grounds! GS and family are not here yet and my IPad has service which it hasn't a lot of my trip, so thought I would try to read some of the news on forum. Have sure enjoyed some fantastic country side in Wy, Co,, wish I could stay longer, but friend is ready to be home. her first time traveling and I haven't been able to convince her, this is the best.

Dawn, my tv at home helps me with date and time  8-) Just guessing when on the road :o  You can always ask someone if it's important, got a date or something ;) It's just one of those items that goes with being retired, you'll get used to it and adjust :)

Hope everyone is staying well out there, did read about your Moms ER trip, Dawn , hope she's feeling much better and will do her walking.

Wow, 600 on our forum, That is great !!!! Wish more would pop in with their say so more often!! Welcome All!!! Please do request your name and home state be put on our map, people wandering around like me  might say hi along the way . I love meeting our Sistah's .

You two be nice !!!! I'm working at staying that way. She has her dog, so flying is out. He was flown to her when she bought him and she says still suffers from it.

Tx Gtg is out but hoping to make Carolyn's, but wii have service done on Thor before leaving Chattanooga area, so we're ready for Fl. Trip this winter. WE're meaning just Maggie and me

I went on a trip with a neighbor who had never been away from her husband for more than a couple of days. I wasn't sure she would make the 2 weeks but I wasn't bringing her home. Flying would have been her option.

We have an atomic clock at home to settle the date arguments. It gets a signal from somewhere to keep it up to date.

Dawn, I have the same problem and have to keep reminding myself what day it is.

I can understand why older people buy those clocks that have the day of the week and date on them! I am having problems realizing that it is September already and the summer has gone. It seems like I just started this full-timing!

If you don't want to spend hours feeding papers into a shredder, you can take them to Office Max or Staples and they will shred them faster, even while you watch. They have bigger machines. Not too expensive and a lot easier.

Judy..thanks for the shredding info...I have a bunch of papers from cleaning out my step mother's apartment and the files that I maintained for both my Dad and her.....I recently went through and bagged all the stuff that I no longer need to keep and was dreading having to shred (and empty) and shred (and empty) everything here at the house....
