I think Nan was sipping tea sitting in a chair next to Sarah in the shade...... There is a process of talking oneself into unpacking the kayak and getting it ready to go into the water......on a hot day the motivation to move that much is sometimes harder to conjure up...ask me how I know? 8-)

Tina, you are so right. After my splash around Lake Gunthersville I spent an hour totally cleaning and drying my kayak and packing it up since I figure I won't be anywhere I can use it again for a few months. Now here I am right on the lake's edge just outside of Nashville and just thinking about unpacking and then having to clean and dry it again keeps me on dry ground.

Nan and I figured it was well worth it when you know you are staying parked for a couple days. We loved the stay at Kelly lake when we could just get out of the chairs and paddle out taking advantage of the work from the day before.....

And you notice I haven't been getting mine out at all these lakes I've been to.

All this gator talk reminds me of when I camped at a NWR on a bayou. I asked about whether they had any gator attacks. After great thought and consultation, the ranger remembered one time when a guy thought it was a good idea to throw a ball for his dog near a bunch of lazing gators. The dog happily swam out and brought the ball back. He threw it again, the dog retrieved it. After about the ninth time one of the gators said, "Well, if you insist!"

The guy was so incensed he insisted the gator be caught and killed. Can't fix stupid.
