Ladies, Show off your talents!

Only took 6 Months, but I finished it.....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sun Sep 09, 2012 2:10 pm

I started this in March.....The original photo was taken of my Mom in 1991 the year she turned 60.....I used that computer program that takes photos and converts them to counted cross-stitch patterns....I've done about 7 of these....I think there's one in this section of our GD and her brother when she was a newborn....

This is done on 28 count linen fabric...using single thread...(and a magnifying glass..  )

Next is one of Ernie's Mom....

Enjoy!!!

My fingers cramp even to think about it. You have much patience woman for such fine detail work... Question though....living in an RV do you keep it or give it as a gift to a sister? :)

Hence, that's one of the reasons it takes so long... Have to take breaks to rest the eyes and the fingers.. And no, this stays with me and hangs on the wall...am also doing one of Ernie's Mom for him....I love our sisters, but my creations are "One of a Kind"....when I do them, it's a feeling I get during the process who it goes to....and these are mine....now, that doesn't mean there are other photos of Mom out there that would "suit" my sisters, but this is my favorite of Mom....

Just gorgeous! And you look so much like your beautiful mom.

I don't know that I could even do 28 count anymore - it's beautiful.

I am super impressed, Lori! I've done counted cross stitch for years, but have been taking a break recently. I can appreciate the time and effort it took to do this detailed a piece - wow.
