Honeycomb gtg day 1

Let's get together!

Honeycomb gtg day 1

Postby bluepinecones » Fri Sep 07, 2012 10:55 pm

The short trip to Honeycomb on Guntersville Lake was just my second time out since getting Magic and it was Nicky's first ever. We were having a mini gtg with Vickie, Nan, and Wendy.

Nicky listened carefully as I explained the navigator responsibilities.

Everything fine until I started the engine. Once we started moving and all those strange noises and rattles going, he panic big time. However he calmed own quickly once we arrived and has done quite well at adjusting to an uncrowded campground.

For our first afternoon excitement, see gentleladybear post with pixs of our rattlesnake!

We still had an enjoyable evening and dinner by the water. Sorry forgot pixs.

The first full day ws much calmer. Nan and Vickie enjoying the peace and quite waiting for Wendy to arrive

After much visiting, we decided to go into Guntersville for a late lunch.
Knew we had picked the right place with this sign

Vickie had shrimp and pasta

Wendy had pimento cheese BLT and it looked great

Nan and I had grilled chichen with brie. Nan and Vickie also managed to save room for a bread pudding desert.

Totally stuffed, we went back to the campground for more visiting time including doggie gtg

Will add a few photos from day 2 when I get home tomorrow night.

So glad that your navigator settled down and decided that he would stick with you. I hadn't really thought about how the rattles and shakes of the rig are so different than car travel...which nicki of course loves. I think once he figures out nothing is going to attack him with all those sounds he will do fine. Then again just about the time remi thinks he is safe i manage to go over some speed bump I didn't notice and things fly out of nowhere... :) About then is when he makes a flying leap into the front passenger seat.

Looks like a good time is being had in spite of the exciting beginning. We did a family reunion on Lake Guntersville back in around 1989 and I thought that was a great area.

Sorry I had to miss it, but Louisiana was calling my name!! Looks like everyone's having a great time! As many miles as Chewy has under her furry butt and as many times as I have hit the "wake up grid" on the right side of the road, she still panics when I hit it. Nothing ever happens, but guess she's getting ready for it to happen! LOL! Nickie will do fine, he just needs some more miles under him. He'll be a great navigator.

Looks like you all are having a great time. Margie (Ms"B"Haven) and Roger stopped by Crossville to see me on their way back home in FL.

Always great seeing the big smiles when there is a gtg, no matter how small or large. I'm looking forward to the rest of the pics. carold. Whoops, just saw some

Wonderful pics, Sarah! I am so glad that Nicky adjusted and accepted his navigator role with dignity! It was good to see Wendy, Nan, and you again in the pics-----and which Vickie is that we got to meet? The campsite looks beautiful right on the water----right up my alley.

Thanks for posting these pics!

Great pictures, Sarah! Once Nicky figures out getting in the RV means a fun adventure, he'll look forward to going.
