A Saturday in September

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Saturday in September

Postby BirdbyBird » Sat Sep 08, 2012 7:18 am

Raining here in Ohio and did most the night. Remi did not get as much sleep as he would have liked. The temperatures have fallen back to a more comfortable range. Stop by and grab what you need from the kitchen to start your day off right. I love opening the morning kitchen because I can be a "great baker" and provide all the yummy drinks you want!

In a few minutes I am heading up the road to wait in a church parking lot near I-71 for Miss Izzy and her KY Ma and Pa. We are all driving up to Columbus today to take her to meet her handsome suitor. We may have puppies in November.... :) So far three of them are spoken for and I don't know what other contacts Lyn has so there may even be more people waiting in line for a prospect.

Here is a picture of Izzy sitting with her half brother Stuart with "bling" from one of their UKC shows.....

Image

Here is a picture of my daughter snuggled in to watch a movie/nap last winter with her Hannah dog. Hannah was two years older than Herschel and lived here with him for several years before she made the move to NC to be with "her girl." Hannah lost her battle with cancer on Labor Day....She has gone on to remind Herschel who was the best at water retrieves..... :)

Good morning...it's 5:30am in "Vegas".....Spinner's giving me that "hurry up and drink some coffee, Mom, so we can go out"....look.... ;) But he is a patient guy...

Thanks for opening the kitchen this morning, Tina......So sorry to hear about Hannah....you have had a rough couple of weeks....Herschel & Hannah were special....

Nothing planned for today here....suppose to rain, so maybe I'll get my counted cross-stitch project done......

Well, I need to have more coffee and get my body going....Spinner won't wait forever.... ;)

Have a great day, all...

Tina, so sorry to hear about Hannah too. This has been rough on you.

Lori, I did not get coffee before Belle was very insistant that it was time to go out this morning. I did convince her to let me sleep about 30 more minutes before she really woke me up. Barking in my ear and trying to dig a hole in my shoulder.  Now she is back asleep on my lap.

It is really cool here this morning after the last few days. We have been about 102 in the afternoons for the last 3 days. This morning, temp is showing 63 and wind is blowing. Mom said it poured rain last night. I slept right through it. Took the dogs all out with just my summer robe and PJ's. Was wishing for a sweater for my winter robe. Don't have much planned for today other than Saturday cleaning. Since it is supposed to be cooler today, will probably take the dogs on longer walks this afternoon. I take them one at a time, so I get more walking in. Need to lose the 20 pounds I have gained over the last year.

Got tickled at my friend Bev last night. I had invited her for dinner and took supper to her husband Mike, since he was working the Gate House. Found out he loved Thai food and she did not. She was polite, but only tasted it. Said she was going to go home and fry a pork chop. She said Mike loved it and wanted to know why she did not cook things like that. I was laughing. Told her that was like 22 years ago when we all used to live next door to each other. Told her I would send her each day's menu and she could choose what days to eat here.  She was laughing at me. Rolling her eyes at me since I still do a week's worth of menus each week. I remember teaching her how to sew more than 20 years ago. She says she still has the dress she made back then. It is really nice being with long time friends.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. If you are traveling, stay safe.

Wow, I just discovered Morning Coffee and the Campfire. What a great way to get to know one another. I still work part time so will probably not post daily, but will sure enjoy reading of on everyones adventures, joys and trials.
I feel for the loss of Herschel and Hannah. My dogs are my children and I needed to take my Newf out of his pain Aug. 6. He had cancer and when it spread to his lungs and throat it was just too much. Fortuanatly he was comfortable and happy, thanks to meds, until the last. The vet came to my place and we said our good bye's on my lawn. Then my brother-in-law placed him in my "resting place" in the trees to the north of my house. (yes, I live way out in the country) There he joined my other Newf, who I also lost to cancer just two months after I lost my husband. After cancer in three of my dogs, my current two are mixed breed. I am hoping that what they call "hybrid vigor" in the ranching world will apply to dogs and these two will not experience the pain of cancer.
I am going to try to make the Texas GTG, but first I must actually get my Cruiser. If anyone saw the pictures online you noticed the crumpled back. Well that must be fixed before I finalize the purchase. They tell me it may take some time. In the RV world that could be months!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Jeepers, I've really been sleeping like a log! I know I've been ill but dang! Didn't really want to get up this morning but I and then Shade really didn't to take care of morning business. Came inside with her and got a cup of coffee and here I sit. Now mind you I've been up a little over an hour, but all I can think of is going back to bed. I can blame some of it on Dawn. The thought of crawling back into that comfortable soft squishy bed is really hard to resist..  But I do kinda wish that I had a hammock outside that I could flop in also. ~sigh~ Was a total bum all day yesterday too. I think I went outside only about 4 (maybe 5?) times yesterday. Sure didn't strain myself at any rate! Today will probably be another slow day too. Would like to get dishes finished and my table cleaned off tho.

Have no idea what the weather is gonna bring this way. It was sunny, hot and humid yesterday so will probably be a repeat today. I am really looking forward to fall weather. Love the temps of Spring and Fall. Would really love to get some pots of Fall flowers for outside but need to hang on those pennies for important things, like groceries!

Hope ya'll enjoy the day and that ya'll stay safe.

Love to all

Good morning ladies,
Trying out sons iPad. With neighbors Internet. Interesting experience with this touch screen.
Tried to help a friend yesterday with her android tablet for her hubby who is in Kabul, he wanted to be able to Skype home so she bought it. And tried to send it but there is regulations about sending the battery. She can't and he can't buy one there so needless to say she put it back in the box until hubby comes home next year. He does have a smart phone and they do Facebook. So i'm going to research and see they can do FaceTime on the smartphone and her computer. I think it's like skyping, anybody know?
We finally had a break in heat, now i just hope it stays nice.
Daughter has signed me up for an infant CPR course, and. It includes the latest on SIDS. I have my current CPR and it already includes infant. But this class is geared for grandparents and she really wanted me to go so I told her I would. (wednesday evening)
Gotta get off this thing now, it's really hurting my neck lookin down to type. I will try to do some more catching up later. Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. Our weather is cooler today, but still in the 90s. Cereal and coffe this morning. My headache (concusion) only gets bad when I get active. So, I'm staying down and resting, reading, TV, etc.

Tina-Very sorry about Hannah. I'm sure Hershal is happy to have Hannah with him in heaven :D

It is so hard to lose our beloved fur babies. My son's dog was just diagnosed with breast cancer and we don't know the prognosis yet. My Tyler goes in for surgery on Tues. to biopsy several bad looking "cysts" and lumps. :?

Ava- regarding FaceTime. My GD has FaceTime on her iPod touch. As long as she has wifi, she calls me using FaceTime. I believe you can use FaceTime on most devices with Internet access. :P

Echo- its goona be a while before you get any energy. It takes a long time for those sedative drugs to get out of your system. Sometimes it can take months. Drinking lots of water and light activity (walking) can help pass it out of your system. Give yourself time...listen to your body :P

Dawn- you sound so much more relaxed..like you are starting to unwind a bit and enjoy your new life style. Glad the weather is making it a bit more pleasant.

I wish everyone else a beautiful day filled with fun and adventure. Stay safe and enjoy. Aloha.

Good morning from Alabama!! Going to be a rainy day, but that is okay, it cooled down. Heading to another campground for a couple of days and then on to Florida.

Tina sorry to hear about Hannah, she looks so much like Herschel. But they are now bounding across the fields, sniffing and looking for some water to dive in.

We have had a great gathering here, Vicki cooked some pork chops last night, so I added grape salad and a cole slaw. Great meal great company. We enjoyed Wendy coming over with pepper. The lunch was great food.

I will be heading out in a few...just wanted to stop in and say good morning.

Good morning from Nebraska !!! Another Finals wk end, my GS did well in Kansas, won buckle and saddle. So exciting wk end here to look forward too. Really cool here, had to turn the heater on for short time this morning, Nice, after such hot weather.

Tina, so sorry to hear Hannah is gone too, They both are very happy though, hope you and DD are doing ok, takes awhile, Hershel was not my dog ,but I still can't help but tears come when I think or remember he's gone. Maggie and I, loved him !!

Echo, take care, eat right, and take short walks to build energy level back. Just got out of where you are, takes awhile, but you have to work at it slowly, but do work at it, or you will never get your strength back. I still find I don't have it all together yet at times. Walks are nothing like I used to make and I'm pooped. So wishing you the very best and sooo glad you are doing so good now.

Happy to see a newbie here on morning post, I need to see who and how many newbies we have now. Behind on reading forum, missing so much on here, but in a few weeks I'll be back , and posting more often. The open road beckons these days and I am enjoying every day of it. So behave while I play

Red so sorry to hear about your accident, and your problems from it, hoping all will clear up soon for you. I haven't read what happened, wasn't in your convertible was it ??

Must go, friend here is just chatting away and my mind can't focus

Hope all are well and able to do what their heart desires,
Stay safe in whatever or wherever your days take you,

CArol :)

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

So sorry for your daughter's loss, Tina. Hannah and Herschel sure did look alike, and, unfortunately, both had the genes for the dreaded C. I have my doubts, as you all well know by now, about any souls bounding about in another universe, but I sure do hope those last seconds of consciousness and dreams included swimming and fetching together. I am sure of those dreams and thoughts, and like to think they are eternal. I also hope my last thoughts include my beloved four-footers which will last me throughout eternity.

Psjh (hope to learn your name soon!) I am so sorry for your recent 4-footer loss, too. I love being able to have those beloved souls put on my property as you are able to do, and I plan to have my ashes put into our little family graveyard, too. By the way, a belated WELCOME to the group!

Nan, Happy Trails to you today, and to any others who are on the roads.

I just heard there is a tornado warning right now for NY City----good grief! Weather changes are mounting by the day on our Earth.

Nice to hear that Dawn is sleeping soundly these days! I sure can't wait to meet you in FL!

The winds are blowing everything around here this morning, and the weather is shifting, for sure. Thundersotrms predicted for this afternoon. I have put my awning up to save its getting blown to Kingdom Come, wherever on earth that may be!

Dogs and I are going to the dump this morning----what a treat, for them, as the dump man gives them a treat as I pay him. I managed to tackle part of the nasty kitchen Dark Hole of Calcutta yesterday, so I feel somewhat proud that I have at least made a dent in my "stuff" stuff.

Winds are getting more and more wild, so it's off I go to the dump now.
Happy Saturday to all. "To the dump to the dump to the dump dump dump!"
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

It feels like fall this morning, oh joy!!!Yesterday it was 97 and very humid but another storm came through last night and with it brought these lovely cool temps.

Ava, the download you want is called Skype and it is free. It pretty much works with any computer that has a camera, and if not you can buy one for under $20.00.

Tina so sorry to hear about Hannah, hugs to you and your daughter. I think Herschel is telling her all about his wonderful trip to Alaska and all the friends he made along the way.
I hope Izzy has beautiful puppies, she and Stuart are so pretty.

Echo, are you using the C-Pac at night for more oxygen? If so maybe that is what is making you sleep so well, do you check your BP at home? Hope you start to feel better soon.

Hope everyone has a good day. Glad to see you post this morning CArol and congrats to your GS on his winnings in Kansas!

It's a beautiful, sunny morning here in the North Rim of GC! Cool, with a nice breeze. Got here yesterday in the rain and it rained almost until dark, but I did get a quick walk in. It will not doubt rain again this afternoon. Campground is in Ponderosa Pine forest, and some sites are just steps away from the rim, so sleepwalking is not a good idea! Sites have no hookups but are very spread out, so there is lots of privacy and quiet at night.

I'm just putzing around this morning, counting out my pills into containers and listening to NPR radio. Had a long phone conversation with an ex-coworkers. Apparently my replacement has quiet and needs to be replaced. They are joking that in a year I will be tired of this full-timing and ready to come back to work! I told them not to count on it, but I would be willing to do a few things online. That will never happen, however. Nice to catch up on the office gossip, however.

Going out for a walk soon. Have a good day, all.

It has been a very relaxed day here. I still have my moments of tears, but it is because I wish I was sharing this with Chuck like we used to do. Haven't done much but sit outside and enjoy the day.
