South Dakota, Part 2

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Sep 02, 2012 8:50 pm

I am heading into the home stretch but I won't be winterizing the rig.....I need to take care of some family business but I am already thinking about where and when I need to get out of town once again.... :) :)

I won't be home for another 3 weeks. But will go into Arkansas tomorrow and plan on a gathering with Sarah. Life is good and the roads are smooth. so on I go.

Great pictures Tina, it was indeed a great time

I know it's bittersweet for you to be on the home stretch. I know I have enjoyed seeing Alaska through all of y'all's eyes!

I'm curious as to where the next trip is taking you .... love to hear that "not winterizing the rig". There will be more posts to come. YAY.

Tina thank you for taking all of us on your trek around Alaska. I have looked forward to your and everyone else's posts and blogs. These were all a very welcome break from my chaotic life this summer. You have done a wonderful job of taking us with you.

It just doesn't seem like this adventure should be winding down. I started my downsizing about the same time you embarked on your journey. It has been a wonderful end of day distraction for me and I'll bet Dawn would say the same. You are smelling the barn now and I'm sure family and friends are anxious for your return but I certainly understand the bug that bit you..and a new adventure is on the horizon..

  You can say that again Nancy. Can you believe I am finally here and we will be hitting the road around 11:00 this morning. This is my last morning on what was our land. Very bittersweet.

When I'm driving thru south Dakota I always think I see a band of Indians hiding in those hills. I'm sure they look the same as they did a hundred years ago. Thanks for all the pictures and taking me with you on your travels.

Ahhh Tina, Beautiful!!!! It is hard to see the end of your wonderful journey getting closer. I have so enjoyed your amazing journey and the journey of the others that were so generously shared. They have kept me going through many a long hot summer day. Like you say, once you have driven over the Top of the World it's only a matter of time until the open road will call. Watch for the sign that points to Elsie and me!
