Retired Happy...(Karen) has gone to the "Birds"...yep, she done posted a what >>>>>Tufted Titmouse...Now Karen.....LOL of all birds..I mean I'm here sitting grin'n from ear to ear...of all birds a Tufted Titmouse..where do they get these names...but ya know the dang thing is a cutie...and I shouldn't giggle cause I've been known to all of a sudden get in to Bird Watching... in fact I do think Marslet (Sharlotte) is a bird watcher...when ever she posts have to ask her...Oh, Sharlotte..check out Karen's bird ... and yes, Karen it sure is great meeting nice people..look you come in here every day and ya meet them too...I can't wait to hear how you GTG with your friends go... a neat story in itself too..

Ok Sista's it's that time.. and my table is filled with goodies...of all kinds..a big pot of Coffee is perking and the Kettle is on for our Tea lovers..Even have some cool drinks in the frig...aaaaaaaah got them Big Cinnamon Buns, piping hot...Blueberry Muffins too...oooooh yeah..and some Oatmeal Raisin Walnut chocolate chippers that are just like Biscotti..ya have to dunk em....

Whoohooo! Barbzeee's been busy this a.m. What a great re-cap and lots of artwork too! You rock! (as the teenagers say! )

Weather will be questionable here, not sure if it will be snow, freezing rain, sleet or rain....how's that for Santa's sleigh? All I know is that Middy hasn't even asked to go outside. She's laying around here in her chair or down on the carpet and says "let it roar out there, I'll use my litter box!"

I've got a lot to get done and will be busy all day so I'll wish you all a wonderful day and I'll grab a cuppa and get started.

p.s.... yeppers, Soosie has started a Morning Coffee on another forum that both she and I are on,... she's such an early bird that I know she'll do a great job of getting the Open Roads Singles off to a cheery day!

Gooooood Morning Sistahs!!!!

Holy smokes Barbz busy with that recap this morning! She's just a bustling around this morning catching up with everyone and everything all the while setting that table with good coffee and good vittles. Now that's a good morning! Beautiful recap this morn Barbz I think ya got all the bases covered and the Sistahs too!

Goofy weather. Day before it was 4f, yesterday it 14f and now it's 49f on my back porch. No wonder people get down sick. sheesh! The temps started climbing last night. Instead of wearing my heavy coat out last night with the dogs I used my lighter one. Today I'll get by with my button up sweatshirt. Nope. No snow for me this Christmas.... I know I've read somewhere that Santa not only has the runners on his sleigh for snow but has pontoons and also wheels. Gooooood thing! Whew!!!!

Today at work as far as I know we will only have to work until 5pm. Yippie!!! They are going to have a drawing up there for all the over time we've been putting in. They are giving out tickets for overtime. The amount of tickets ya get depends on the hours of overtime since Dec 17 to today. If ya got 70hrs in since the 17th then you get 15 tickets with your name on them. I'm really kinda ticked off. Checked my hours last eve after I clocked out and counting today I will only end up with 68.39hrs in. Missed the 70hrs and 15 tickets by not even a full 2hrs. But I will still get 10 tickets. They are giving away gift cards, money, MP3 players, 2 Xboxes and a hi-def flat screen TV. With my luck I wont win any of it. Then tomorrow we have off and have to work at least 4hrs on Friday. And yuck this is our weekend to work. ~sigh~

I suppose I had better get my butt in gear. I have a small present to fix up for the lady that sits next to me at work. Nothing fancy just a back scrubby and some shower gel, but she has become a friend. And not to even mention I need to get dressed. LOL

Good morning to all. Barbz, you must have been up half the night preparing your greetings this morning! Beautiful job it is too. I got up at 3 am myself to make coffee & breakfast to a neighbor friend who was headed to Orlando airport for a flight to Chicago....brrrr! She's visiting her sister for Christmas. She just called and was boarding her plane, so luckily no delays on this end. She's heading into snow and temps in the teens....we'll be in the 80s in FL today. I'm looking forward to that.

Bandit went on a grand adventure in the wee morning hours. I forgot to get him "dressed" in his electronic collar, so he sneaked out the dog door for a romp in the back yard. After I discovered he was missing, I went out in my slippers and jammies in the dark and found him out there. Of course we had to play cat and mouse for a few before he consented to be caught. Back inside and dressed he is taking a nap. I'll be doing that myself today, I'm sure.

Well, have a few homemade banana nut muffins left...help yourself! If you have to drive in that snowy weather today, be extra careful and know that I'm praying for your safety. Tomorrow I'll drive to the Tampa area to spent the day with oldest daughter & family.

Now this is a busy, beautiful kitchen this morning!! So good to see so many up and moving already! Barb has outdone herself this morning with those great pictures! My favorite is the snowman skating!

Thanks for the advice, Barb! I learned from the best, but will never compare with the bestest kitchen hostess ever!

I hope you all will have a great day before Christmas, that all who are traveling will find airports open with minimal delays, and that those on the roads will find them bare and safe!

Christmas is a time to remember all the good times, make new good times, and share the love of each other.....from all our 4-footers to all of our 2-footers!

Time for me to decide about strapping on my snowshoes to pack my cross-country ski trails. Temperature is perfect out there today....about +25F. I am hoping our recent winds haven't blown down dead trees to make obstacles for me to climb over!

Shelly is the one in this group who REALLY experiences the weather in all its fury and glory!!! I was trying to figure out what 'covies' were when you finally said 'Coveralls' and then showed a picture of you decked out to do the chores! Holy Cow! The Adirondacks are MILD compared to the trials and tribulations you go through where you are! More pics, please, if you can even get your camera to work in those temperatures!

I just baked blueberry/raspberry muffins for breakfast, so help yourselves. I'm gonna have one with my cuppa tea here in a minute and then get busy doing the domestic chores so we can have a cleanish sorta house for Christmas.

No Snow here this Christmas either and warmer today than it has been. Won't be in the 80's like Liz, but after the week we had, even 50's feels great!

I might not be an early bird, and I don't drink coffee - but I never want to miss a day at your table. And you should be honored that you did such a wonderful job here - that I wanted to add a morning greeting to my singles group's forum - and Soos graciously is doing the job there - not copying you - but as herself - and I know as this thread does here, that thread there will help keep that forum alive and kicking.

Well it is way past morning but I wanted to wish all a Merry Christmas and a safe journey for those who will be traveling. And to say a special thanks to Zeee for her lovely art work and her welcoming table.
I just made a batch of chocolate chip cookies from scratch! Gees I had forgotten how long it takes and made me wish I had a food processor. I looked at my mixing bowl when I finished and it was all crackled under the glaze from my hand mixer although I tried not to hit the sides with it. I think it has been over 10 years since I've made cookies, cause I hate mixing them up. I was surprised at how many varieties of chocolate chips Nestle now has. I used to use Fluffo instead of butter and they tasted better and had a nicer consistency. Guess Fluffo went the way of a lot of other products, maybe I should have used that buttery colored Crisco! Could it be much worse than the 1/2 pound of real butter!

It's well past morning, but I'd like to wish all of my RVin' women friends the merriest of Christmases or the happiest of Hannukahs. A few friends are joining me and my son & daughter-in-law for dinner and dessert (and just a few presents! LOL!).
