Replaced my kitchen faucet

Took me all dang day and two trips to the hardware store but finally got it done.
Couldn't find my faucet wrench so went to Home Depot to buy a new one, $12,
was going to get a faucet while I was there but the "arm" faucet part might be
shorter than a standard faucet, hmm, better measure first, and besides, maybe
all I needed was a washer. Got back home, fussed and fussed trying to fit my
"self" under the sink, nothing was comfortable but finally got the dang thing
off, and it was totally shot, it needed whole new innard part thingy, easier to
replace the faucet, so this time I went to Lowes, its closer and bought just
the standard kitchen faucet, took my tape measure with me and yep, the
"arm" faucet part was same size, and already knew the other part was the
same. Got just the standard cheapest faucet, Peerless, cause I'm on a budget.
Took me three tries to get it hooked up right, just couldn't get the washer on
the cold water side to seat right, what a pain in the patootie. Then when I
finally got done and sat back gave a sigh, I sat on the wet carpet Now
I'm washing up all the wet towels I used to clean up the water. But I'm pleased,
and finally getting over my wet behind. But my arm muscle is sore I'm just
not as strong as I used to be.

Good for you, Ava. Want to come do one for me lol - actually I want to replace mine with one of those that have the high necks - would make doing dishes, etc in here so much easier. I'll probably wimp out and ask one of the people here to put it in for me - but yep, am very proud of you - we can do these things when we have to.

I want to change both bathroom and kitchen faucets,.... come on up you can do mine! I'll have my son do mine, and my new outdoor motion light. I'm lucky that my kids live nearby. Whew!

Plumbing jobs are always hard! Especially when you have to get under sinks! You should be very proud! And now you can come up here this summer and help me re-plumb my old 1971 travel trailer! It had old copper pipes that somebody left water in and they burst real pretty-like! I have bought the new Pex tubing to replace it all....just need some encouragement now!

P.S. Plumbers make MEGA money!

I've replaced many-a faucet, but found it harder and harder to get in and out from under the sink. I let the plumber put in the one in my new kitchen this year, and my SIL did the bathroom. Worked so well I plan to do that for any future plumbing needs too. But, I'm real proud you perservered and got it done. It's a good feeling of accomplishment, I know.

getting under the sink is the HARDEST part, my last husband was a plumber and
I learned alot from him so I knew what I needed and how to do it, but DANG, those
tight spaces are a bitch. I really wanted the high arched faucet but just couldn't
spend the money, I had to get the el cheapo model for $29, but I'm am SOooooo
glad its done.

Way to go! Doesn't it feel good to have that done.

I also need to tackle a plumbing issue in my rig. Haven't gotten the courage to do so yet. With you as inspiration, maybe this will be the year!

Good on ya Gal ! Way to go. I am pretty handy but when it comes to plumbing I try to find someone else to do the job.

Proud of you. I no longer do my own plumbing cause I'm just not as flexible as I once was. I did put in one of those high faucets in the kitchen Beth, and I love it. Now I want one with just one handle, so much easier to turn water off and on with only one handle.
