Signed up for Bootcamp in Sedalia - is anyone else going?

Postby cnq50b » Tue Aug 28, 2012 11:19 pm

I decided I needed to go ahead & get educated about this new vehicle of mine (still no name :( ) so I signed up to attend Escapee's boot camp in Sedalia, Mo. I know a couple of you are going to the one in Texas, but is anyone going to Sedalia? After I signed up I realized that this means I will really 'camp'  Not sure I know what all i need to take, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. OMG, I'm going to 'camp' in my 'camper'!!!!   What have I done!?

Ooooohhh, a pre-report! Dawn and Red and I are all going to be there in Livingston, TX, in November. Your Boot Camp is in September, right? I can't wait to hear all about it.

Catherine, please let us know what you learn! I am really looking forward to the one in Livingston. That one is closer to me, especially coming from the Canyon Lake GTG. Super bonus is that Red and Ellen are going to be there too! Hope one of the Sistahs can meet you there in Sedalia.

Sue Ross(gypsysuzy) posted on Facebook that she was going to the Escapade in Sedalia but it looks like it is after the boot camp. You would really like Sue if you get a chance to meet up with her.

Maybe Sue & I will cross paths. I need to get back for work after the boot camp so I won't be attending the Escapade, but I'll be sure & let you all know how much I learn. :D
I'm sure we'll all cross paths in the right place at the right time. ;)

Hello Catherine! Wow, not logging onto this Forum for a week really puts one behind? I've missed so much and it'll take days to catch up! BUT 'TIS GREAT TO SEE YOU again :P Wow, a bootcamp sounds great--something I need too! Yes, make sure you educate all of us when you get back. And you'll LOVE camping in your camper! :D

I know, Carol, getting these vehicles are like a new hobby - so much to learn, so much to do.
My daughter & her girls (from Dallas) have come in town for the long weekend so I'm feeding the masses right now.
Love the time with the kids, but it's soooooo much work... ;) looking forward to time away from work & house & kids to focus on getting to know my mega-van & learn how to take care of it properly.
Took it to the Freightliner dealership this week for an oil change & asked them to check out the engine in general - it passed with flying colors. Now I'm really ready to roll - as time allows. :P :P
Right now, I'm making my list (for camping) & checking it twice - thought it was pretty complete until my daughter mentioned salt, pepper, oil... Guess there are stores if I forget anything really major. :D

I want to do an Escapees Boot Camp myself, but can't make either of the upcoming ones... Anxiously awaiting an opportunity in 2013.

I am so sure I could have used a boot camp to teach me how to haul, hitch, unhitch, hook up utilities, manage battery charges, change fuses, which generator will run what, dump, and many more things I had never considered until I found myself sitting in my first 'trailer home-on-wheels' right here in my yard! Oh yes, and I am still learning how to stow stuff while traveling so that when I open the door at my destination, stuff doesn't come tumbling out onto the ground! So much to learn from others who have done this for a while.

I can feel your excitement as you are about to camp for the first time in your rig! Have a wonderful time, and let us know what you learn!
