First pics of my 'van' - finally added some inside pics

Postby cnq50b » Wed Aug 22, 2012 11:44 pm

Ok, I think I have posting pics down...
After a long 1678 mile, rushed (3-day) drive back home, I finally have figured out how to post a couple pics of my 'van'. (having a tough time calling it an RV or rig & no name yet, so 'the van' or 'Mom's van' might be it)

Since I picked it up in Florida I thought I really should go by a beach so a couple of hours out of my way gave me a 15-minute walk on the beach at Destin & this terrific photo! ;)

Granddaughter checking it out...

My daughter & her family just moved to Dallas 3 weeks ago. Took this opportunity to see their new place. Plan was to camp out with my 2 granddaughters, but torrential rains changed our plans & Ava (in the pic) & I "camped" in their apartment parking lot - comfy as two bugs in a rug... :D

Home at last...

Ok, this is one big 'van'.... My intention was to keep it in my driveway, but seeing how it dwarfs the house I may need to store it over the winter. ;)

Can't wait to take it out for a more relaxed run... hopefully soon... :D

Thanks to all of you for your encouragement & advice. It's nice to see some of the comments from others with the same feelings I had when I parked it in the driveway 'Oh my goodness, what have I done!"... :o :o

OMG, "cinq-50"! It's wonderful!! Thank you SOOOO much for figuring out how to post pics. I've been eager to see it! You know, I think calling it "my van" sort of understates its grandeur. Gonna have to work on that. ;)

I love Ava's boots - she certainly belongs in Dallas! And that detour to the beach gave you a photo you can make your screensaver. You could sell that pic back to the manufacturer!

Very well done. I wish you many, many miles of joyous abandon!!

"Your Van" is absolutely beautiful. Looked like Ava liked it too! I just know you are going to have wonderful adventures in it.

Beautiful, you are really going to enjoy it. Camping in the drive way is good too. Years ago I went on a 2 week trip with 2 friends and 2 kids. When we got back to my friends house in Houston we all ended up back in the camper for supper. We didn't want our vacation to end.

To beautiful to be called ' the van', needs a dignified name . It will come to you one day, I'm with Mitch, more pix of the inside please, when you can.
I'm so happy for you, what a really neat rig.

Many happy and safe travels,

CArol :)

Beautiful new home-on-wheels! CONGRATULATIONS!

You were right when you said that it's first trip home was rushed at almost 600 miles per day! Did you like driving it? Did you feel confident manoevering through traffic, and whatall? When I see Class Bs like that, I drool to have one rather than my truck and trailer. And I could park one like yours in my driveway in FL, I am pretty sure, as it could pass for a "van", sort of, by the home owner's association. Of course, I can't wait to see some inside pics of it now that you have mastered posting them!

By the way, welcome to this group of super women----I do believe I missed your intro and I am sorry for that. Can I call you by something other than cinq50b?

Hope to meet you and the mega-van somewhere down the road!

Ha, please call me Catherine... cnq50 is rather snotty..
Yes, 600 miles was a bit much. The first 100 miles or so were pretty white-knuckled going through construction at night with fairly heavy traffic. The steering wheel doesn't adjust (which I knew before i bought it) & it's positioned rather high - kind of like a truck. When I finally got out of traffic & pulled over, I figured out how to move the seat forward & then miracle of miracles -I discovered the arm rest! Once I did that it was very comfy driving.
The pull of big trucks passing find me gripping the wheel a little tighter until they are past, but other than that, it drives like a dream. Of course, I give myself permission to drive a little below the speed limit most of the time. I can keep up but figure I don't need to be in that big of hurry. :)
I thought the same thing about keeping it in my driveway - but it really is a 'mega-van' & pretty much dwarfs my house. I'm scouting around for somewhere to store it over the winter - although I'll still take it out for monthly drives, I just think it would be better for it to be secured on level ground - and - my neighbors will probably appreciate it possibly giving me more leeway during the non-winter months.
Will try to get some inside pics this weekend...
8-)
And yes, this is a group of 'super' women!!! You all are great! I love the straight-forward, no-nonsense advice in down to earth terms. Can't wait to meet more of you... ;)
