LOL!!! Can't find the tech section!!!...and I was just teasing about the "rule" for naming our rigs! I know I have such a dry sense of humor , a lot of people don't "get me"!!! I hope you all do eventually and don't take any offense in the meantime!! Picking up my HarBor on Mon morning, but sticking around FL a few more days! It was suggested that I drive it a few days here before I head north--look for any "hidden" bugs! GOOD IDEA! Will keep you all posted--and IF I CAN FIND THE TECH SECTION...???? ...pix will be in the future!!!

Meeting Carol was one of the highlights of my trip. I'm still working on how to crop, resize & upload photos.... I'll get it down with a little more practice & post some pics of my 'van'...

Oh Catherine! I hope there were plenty more highlights, but I agree that meeting up with each other was a highlight of my trip! I made it home yesterday afternoon...didn't want to stop, could have traveled on another week or two in my HarBor!!! The only downside was towing my car which limited the side trips I would have taken. Don't know if you--any of you--have pulled one of the UHaul tow dollies (the two wheeled ones). There is no way to back them up! So I had to make sure not to get into that situation. BUT, I did stay at lovely rest stops--one in South Carolina, and the second night in West Virginia. HarBor ran great! ANYWAY, I still haven't figured out how to post pix!!! But thank you Catherine for letting all our fellow sisters at least see what I look like! I'm already planning my next trip--2-3 days to New England (Vermont especially) to see the fall colors. Can't wait! Hope you are able to get on the road again soon--and hope you had a good work week! AND EVERYONE have a great weekend wherever you are!!! ..Carol B

Whenever you are towing, you DO NOT back up. Doesn't matter if it is a dolly or 4 wheels down. The tow bars are made for towing, not backing. A boat on a regular trailer hitch would be an exception. You unhook your toad before backing into a spot or you find a pull-through if you aren't going to unhook.

Colleen - I need to clarify... Never back up? Are you just talking about a motorhome with a toad? Or also with a regular TT? I really don't want to learn to tow, but if it's realistic to think I'd never have to back up, I might give it another thought. I know my Dad used to have to back his 24' trailer into campsites all the time and did so cursing and screaming. (<--Ellen being maybe a little naive here?)

She's talking about towing a vehicle with a MH. You can back a trailer & 5th wheel. The one thing to remember with a TT is that you have to remove the friction sway bar first.

Yes, we were talking about towing a car with a dolly or with all four car wheels on the ground. You unhook the car before you back the motorhome into a spot. With any RV, you pretty much have to learn to back in to a spot because you will not always (or even most of the time) be able to find a pull through spot.
