Stormy Friday morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Stormy Friday morning

Postby bluepinecones » Fri Aug 17, 2012 6:32 am

Good Morning, ladies.
A nasty thunderstorm ripped thru here around 4:00 AM and woke me. I tossed and turned for about an hour but could not get back to sleep so there is a second fresh pot of strong hot coffee ready now.
If the weather settles down later today, I need to go check on Magic and start her up for a bit.
I am looking forward to cooler weather but not the shorter days of fall. Think we have already lost almost an hour of daylight. Hard to believe summer is almost gone.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning ! I'm on my IPad so this will be short. wanted to check in, just got home late yesterday, been in Chattanooga, Gen is working, R.V. Has oil change, and everything checked out for the road.

I'm leaving for points west to attend competition my GS is in...A friend who knows my family is going with me, she used to do rodeo events and not a traveler by R.V. So she is more then excited. I always enjoy initiating people to my kind of travels :)

Stress test is next Wed., ,and following wk-end I plan to be back on the road. still concerned about test, but a firm believer that all always works out for the best.

Got home to no ph service or Internet, glad I have IPad, service not real strong, hoping this goes.

Hoping all are well, and having fun, I have coffee and breakfast makings, so stop by!!

Take care, stay safe,
Storm woke me too, weather doesn't look to good for the day here.

Good morning everyone! Hopefully today will be my last day in our house. Just have a few more tubs to take out and then have to clean out Chuck's closet. Rest to house is completely empty. Matt gave me a crew and 2 16 ft trailers yesterday. They loaded all my things on one trailer and pulled it by my door to Sunshine. This is going to be so much easier. Will still take a few days to get completely moved it. I cannot stand the bags and boxes sitting around. Got to go get dressed and get busy. Contractor should be there anytime now.

Have a wonderful day and if you are driving, stay safe!

No storms here although we may get some this weekend. They are saying this disturbance in the Bay of Campeche may organize - I'll believe it when I see it.

Truck is in the shop getting the A/C fixed - gotta have A/C here in August and September - those are actually our hottest months.

Safe travels every one that is on the road. I'm still wanting to drive over to LA for Labor Day but want to see if I have any money after this latest repair.

Good morning Sarah, Carol, Dawn, Kathleen, Maggie and everyone else. There is so much energy with everyone. Cleaning out, down sizing, picking up new rigs, hitting the road, ending work kamp jobs, moving to next adventure. I'm exhausted!!! I barely have the energy to sort and pack the stuff I'm trying to send to my daughter.

Our weather is more of the same ; hot, hot and more hot. I just finished my French toast and coffe. Waiting for DH to wake up. He was planning a trip to some gun stores close to the Camping World and Holiday World today. We were going to look at the Reyo and Navion they have for sale. BUT....he fell yesterday and waiting to see what the knee and wrist looks like today. His rt knee has had 2 replacements and still has infection. The workers have a back hoe, digging a trench to lay the pipes to make a new leech field. DH was trying to take pictures and he walked into a hole and fell with all his weight on that RT knee....and hurt his wrist trying to break his fall. Last night iced both and he went to sleep with the help of pain meds. I suspect I'll be taking him to the Dr for X-rays and consult today and the MH will go back to the back burner again :(

Now that some areas are cooling off, I wish everyone a pleasant climate :D and stay safe if you're on the road. Aloha

Good Morning it is.....foggy and cool. Feels so good after the blistering temps I have had at home. The fog is lifting tho and supposed to be sunny and the high 60's...ok I am calling this PERFECT.

Laura (CougarFan) got here yesterday morning and got a really good spot, but it is at the opposite end of the park from me ha ha. I am surrounded by Prevosts ha ha. the "Bus Bugs" are having a GTG here. Really nice people tho.

The dogs are loving the cool weather for sure as we are also. Our plan this morning is to go down to the docks and get some seafood to BBQ tonite.....sounds great. Right now I am fixing some Cinnamon bread and bacon...can you tell I am hungry. Hoping to get some oysters to BBQ and some other kind of fish..not sure what yet but whatever it is will end up mighty tasty.

The Wifi is terrible of course. The park is full so guess everyone is using it this morning. I am on my Aircard and it is doing fine so far.

CArol, glad you were able to get your generator fixed. I have finally found someone in Lafayette that will work on them. I don't know if they work on the diesel and the propane ones. I have so much trouble getting my ford motorhome worked on that I don't know if I would want one of the new MB diesels. The gas mileage make them sound good but I worry about the service. I know you will be happy to be back on the road.

Red, sorry to hear your DH fell. That seems to happen a lot as we age. Hope he didn't break anything. My DH had double knee replacement and thankfully he had no problems. He is always trying some new exercise program. We have had a tread mill for a few years but it never got much use. Now he has decided to use it so he can take his next stress test on a tread mill. He is driving me crazy keeping it running. It has way too many buttons and he keeps messing it up. If this one breaks the next one will only have an off and on if they still make one like that.

I was watching the weather channel and they are still in the IF stage about the storm. There is an area of rain in East Texas and West Louisiana. It is headed South but will probably miss Houston. We have scattered showers all around us and I can hear thunder. There is a cool front coming South but looks like it will slide East and miss us. Some 70 degree days sounds good.

I need to bring my van in to get the air conditioner checked. Just keep putting off calling to see when I could bring it. Won't be today and Mondays are never good.

Need to go bring a paper to town so better get on the road.

Glad it is cooling off for some of you. Here in Napa, it is almost always moderate, with warm days and very chilly nights. I took my grandchildren to school this morning--grandma got her times mixed up so they were a couple of minutes late. oops.

Now I am sitting in my motorhome in my son's driveway with the furnace running to take the 61 degree chill off. (It will get warm this afternoon after the fog lifts, but nights drop down to 55 and this place is not well insulated, so I have been running furnace off and on every night.) Dropped off a package to UPS and picked up some groceries to make cookies and banana nut bread. I cannot believe how expensive groceries are in this area!! I really miss my Meijers from Michigan. Prices are at least 30-40% here at the Safeway, and it is making me angry how they require a card for a "discount"! $4.99 with the "discount" for a slightly larger than a pint box of blueberries and $.79 a pound for regular bananas! Even chocolate chips were $2.89. I certainly would have trouble living here permanently.

This dropping off and picking up kids is rough. Kindergarten has a half-day schedule until Sept 1, so I drop both kids off at 8:20, pick one up at 11:35 am and the other at 1:35 pm for this week. It will be 2:35 pm next week. Doing laundry and some cooking also while I am here. I can understand how difficult it must be for all of those grandparents who are raising young grandchildren because their parents either cannot or will not raise them!

Have a good day everyone.

Safeway is higher no matter where you are, I hate shopping safeway and only do it if I'm forced to. All the Kroger family grocery stores are cheapest, is Meijers in the Kroger family? In Arizona its called Frys, and in Colorado its called King Soopers and in some rural areas its called City Market. All Krogers
and their discount cards are interchangabled.
