Foggy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Aug 14, 2012 6:57 am

Good Morning everyone,

Did we all have a good night last night? Mine was broken up by Tessa who had to go out at least three times between 2:15 and 5:30 a.m. this morning. And she wet her bed pretty good during the night too, so had to take care of that as well. I was fortunate in that I covered the foam pad with a large garbage bag under the cover, or the whole thing would be headed for the landfill. And these are brand new beds too  We are off to the vets this morning and I don't know where we are going from here. This is not boding good what so ever.

One the brighter side, we had our Departments traveling Motorhome stop by the park for a short break on Sunday afternoon. The couple who are driving this beautiful rig are usually our campground hosts for August, but this year they are driving this MH around the state promoting the Michigan State Parks official ice cream, Michigan Carmel Apple and also the state parks and recreation areas. Going to different events in the state, talking with people, passing out literature, giving out ice cream and information. They were on their way to the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba and stopped by to say hi. They will be coming to Otsego next week and will be doing their thing at the local county fair here. Here's the pictures of the MH;

This is actually a rentala rig and the outside has been done with a peel off decal system. It's beautiful. I imagine that there are some of you out there who drive MH's who would love to do this. This is the first year for this idea and i don't know if it's going to be a year ly thing or just a one year thing.

Dawn, congrats on the closing and i hope by now you have your MH in your possession and are happily in your new "home on wheels". Let the new chapter in your life begin. Janice has also closed on her S&B as well as is also starting a new chaper in her life as well. Best wishes to both of you and happy travels.

BarbZee, if you think running to Sam's and getting stuff is hard for shopping, you should be here. I did at least three stores yesterday and didn't hit the other two yet. In this town, you either stick by one store or you go where the selection and prices are better. We have two major grocery stores outside of WalMart plus other small stores thrown in.

Kathleen, glad to hear you are headed to your granddaughters. Sorry you couldn't have gotten up here, but there will be another time like you said. We do what we must do and with gas at $3.99 a gallon, one has to make cuts someplace.

Echo, i think over time we all accumulate "stuff". Since my dad passed away, i have cleared out everything other than what I am using in my life right now and could easily pack up this place and move with minimal amount of "stuff" going along. If I were to move to another S&B, I would take my current furniture depending on how much room I have and also the rest of the stuff here, but if I were moving into a rig full time, I would get rid of it all other than what I need for the rig itself.

Barbie, fire in fireplace sounds so cozy and relaxing.

Sharon, glad you made it to Asheville and are enjoying the area

Maggie, Contrats on the Diploma. You deserve it as you have worked so hard. Now you can enjoy youself without the burden of schoolwork. Good luck finding a job you want and best of all, enjoy those camping trips and not having to worry about school looming over your head.

Judy, glad to hear you are stil enjoying CA

Well, Tessa and I must be off in a bit here. Going in early so they can get a fresh urine sample and see what it looks like. I"m more than sure it's going to show no improvement what so ever. My regular vet is on vacation this week and one of the other lady vets is taking over. I really like her, she has worked with Tessa before and maybe she can shine some light on the situration from a different perspective.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day.

Sue, I sure hope they can give you some good news on Tessa. I am praying for you both! I am glad you like the vet she is going to see today. Please keep us posted.

Did not get funding until about 5:00 yesterday evening so did not get my rig yesterday. Going to bank first thing this morning to do the wire to MHSRV. Then home to pick up Paul who is going with me. Will call dealership to let them know I am on my way. When I get it home and set up behind Mom's house, I promised Barb Z I would do virtual tour for her on FaceTalk. Plan on taking pictures today before I start making it my own and then starting my blog. As soon as I get that done, I will post pics here. Will also have pics on FB too this evening. Will have to get my computer set up pretty quick! I am thinking of calling her Sunshine. Cowtown Sunshine was my CB handle back in the day when I traveled for my job all the time. This seems more appropriate to me. What do you all think?

I better get a move on since I want to be at the bank right after they open!

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe!

Good morning everyone. The weather here is a bit more tame this AM, but by afternoon it will be 3 digits :(

Sue- I hope Tess will be OK. My Dustin had an incontinent problem the last years of his life. They make "depends" like garments for dogs. I think the ones for boy dogs are easier, just a big, wide belt with a pad that velcroes around the lower tummy. For girl dogs it is like a diaper with Velcro. It sure made life easier for both me and Dustin - he didn't mind it at all. But I'm sure each dog is different. :D

Dawn - waiting with baited breath to see pictures of you and Mom in your new MH.

Maggie - lets meet for celebratory lunch for your graduation

Judy - hope all the repairs are going well in CA and you get a chance to enjoy the area while they are working on the rig.

Echo - hope your hand is feeling better. I think it is human nature to collect stuff. I've only been here 2 1/2 yrs and I have filled up all the closets, etc. I am amazed at some of it as I try to clean out and pack up. Take care and try not to over do with your Jane.

Ellen - great news about going to boot camp in TX this Nov. I sure look forward to meeting you and Dawn at the event..or after in Houston.

Barbie - glad to read about your new job and room. You just sound happier in your posts. I'm sure Lola cat will settle in and I know your dad is loving having you around :D

Wishing everyone else a wonderful Tuesday. Stay cool and safe.

I'm off to pack up China and crystal handed down from my grandma to send to one of my daughters that actually wants it. Took one of my old clarinets to the repair shop. One of my grandsons is starting band and wants to play clarinet. It is relatively expensive these days for kids to even rent instruments from the school. So, I am lending him my practice clarinet (circa 1970s) If he stays with it, he gets to keep it. I'm also having my good clarinet (circa 1950s) tuned up...been 8 years since I played. We'll see if the fancy strikes me sometime in the future

Got up early today as my son and his wife had to go to work, since today is the first day of school for teachers. I am watching the kids, and tomorrow will take them both to school and pick up both separately since one is a kindergartner and afterschool care does not start until September. Going to run errands like getting a haircut and my eyes checked in the morning while the kindergartner is in school.

Hard to get up so early when you are used to sleeping in. Also, since I am sleeping in the motorhome and it is parked in the driveway at an angle, the water pump is having trouble, so I am having to keep a lot of water in the fresh water tank. Had to add water late last night with the hose since the toilet was not flushing. It is also showing the black water tank as 3/4 full, even though I know it is almost empty.

But, it is still nice to have my own place, even if it is in the driveway and slopes a bit too much! I'll only be here a few more days, so am enjoying the time. Still moving things around--went through my dresser drawers yesterday and found some kitchen things I had stuffed there! Can't imagine why. Now that the stuff I brought my son has been removed and we are no longer going camping, I have some extra storage space to put things in a more logical order, even if every move means I forget where I put things again!

Another tragedy is that my Kindle died two nights ago, and I have been using it for at least an hour or two every night to get to sleep. After much consideration of models and alternatives, I ordered a new Kindle Fire at a special discount Amazon gave me if I sent them my old Kindle, which I will do. It should be here tomorrow.

Good morning all. Hope everyone has a good day.
Sue - Just think maybe you could drive one of those RVs around for advertizing??
Judy - hope your Kindle gets to you so you can get so sleep each night. What was the good deal Amazon offered? All my sisters use the Kindle but I'm still using regular books! I have tried the Kindle but prefer a book.

I am getting busy early this morning as I have stuff to load in the Motorhome before I take off tomorrow for the coast. We were going to Central Oregon but they jerked us around with our reservations so decided it was going to be too hot anyway to be comfortable over there sooooo made reservations at the coast where its going to be in the 60's, hey beats 104 any day. The distance is about the same so think we made a good decision. Laura (CougarFan) will come from the north and me from the south and we are meeting in the middle LOL.

Looking forward to seeing pics of Dawns MH too. I am sure she is soooo excited. I remember the day I picked mine up and 5 years later I still love it. Just wish I could shrink it sometimes as going to State Parks takes some planning.

Linda, deal on Kindle was $160 instead of the regular $199 for the Fire. I decided against the $79 model because it comes with advertisements and I know those would drive me nuts. So choice was a $130 regular model or $30 more for Fire. I would have gone for the cheaper model without the deal.

I never thought I would want a Kindle, but my kids got me one for my birthday two years ago, and I really like it. I like getting instant books, and it is really handy when you have no address and are on the road all of the time.

Judy
I love my Kindle Fire. Good for reading and you can also do quick checks on email, FB, and other Internet goodies. There are soooooo many free Amazon books available every day through Pixel of Ink, Ereader, and Kindle on the Cheap. Always have lots of books to read and no extra weight when I travel.

Am sitting in my new livingroom in Sunshine. Did not get home from dealership until 5:00. Am set up and have brought over 2 loads of stuff so I can just be moving in tonight. Have to put all that up, make my bed and then finally eat something today. I LOVE it. The dogs are a little confused tonight. Will post pics as soon as I get it made more my own.

Decided to name her Sunshine.

"Sunshine" reminds me of the song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." Also thought of the movie "Little Miss Sunshine".
I imagine you are SO excited! Hope you enjoy your first night camping in her!

Or John Denver's song:
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
