Day Off Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Day Off Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Aug 13, 2012 7:29 am

Hi All,

Ah, a day off. Course that depends on what one defines as a "day off". Maybe have a day off from the work that gives us a pay check, but well, there's always shopping to do, house to clean for those of us with stick and bricks and..... But hey, I can do what I want and not have to work by the clock :)

Shopping on the agenda this morning, followed by doggie baths when I get home. It's cloudy and going to rain, but they both need a bath, especially Tessa. Figure maybe she will l feel better if she's all nice and clean, especially in the light of her urinary tract infection which makes her "P" more than normal. She's perked up since we stopped the other antibiotics, but with the new ones, she's not eating as much as normal. I'm sure her tummy is upset with all this medicines. But she's out going for walks everyday. Tomorrow is vet appt. day again and if she is not responding to this new med, which I think she isn't, we are going to stop all meds for 7 to 10 days and send a culture to Michigan State University's school of Vet Medicine and see what they find. I don't feel good about the outcome of all this, so mght have to make that decision down the line. We shall see.

Park was crazy busy this weekend with three different parties having their events at the park. Both of our picnic shelters and Activity bldg were full of people celebrating birhtday's and what not. We put tarps on both shelters to break the 30 mph wind that was coming right straight down the lake and blowing everything off the tables etc. No fun in that. Kept my partner and i busy for a bit there. The campground was about 3 sites short of being full and a lot of families, many small children and of course bikes, kids and people all over the pleace especially on the campground roads. Also kept the bathrooms busy as well. So was hectic day on Saturday. Needless to say, I'm tired this morning. Sunday is more laid back cause the majority of the park leaves and it is much quieter and more relaxing for us.

Dawn, so glad to hear you had your closing. Now we are all awaiting the news that you can get your money and get that MH delivered today. Then the adventure can begin. Before you know it, you will be off and on the road.

BJ, the issue of propane on or off has always been the source of much debate. Here in MI, you are not allowed to have an open flame when gassing up. Now, the fridges run on the propane and there is the chance of an unexpected little leak outside you might not be aware of or the pilot light goes on about that time or something. Any gas fumes in the air around there and well, need I say more. I used to leave my propane off unless I was parked in the campground. Figured that the fridge was cold, and if not opened, should stay cold enough to keep things cold and frozen. The frozen stuff in the freezer acts as an ice block anyway per say. Figured that if I were going to park someplace for a period of time while on the road, can always turn on that propane and let it run while parked. Years ago when we travelled and still do, with a good steel belted cooler, a block of ice would keep things cold for a week despite the temps. It's everybodys personal call.

Echo, you be careful with that hand. Don't want to damage it any more. As to that old TT, either your son gets it ifthe other couple changes their mind or you can always sell it for scrap metal and make some green :)

Ava, hard to believe that the kids are in school where you are. We have about three more weeks before they start here although HS sports seasons are starting within the next week or so. Schools can't start till after Labor Day, by law in MI>

Soos is hosting her Ruckus in the Mountains this week. Hope those who showed up are haivng fun.

Barbzee, I think I might have one of Mruphy's off spring here too with Tessa's urinary tract infection going on and on. But sorry, the only thing I can say about your latest episode is    Of course not funny at the time.

Just had a bowl of strawberries for breakfast. Toaster hunt on the agenda this morning as well as some shopping. Stock the freezer time as there are sales on meats etc. and we all know prices are heading upwards

Well, time to go through the sale papers and see where and what I need, head into town, come back and get a doggie bath off the ground here. Sounds like everybody's keeping busy, things are just rolling along for the most part, summer is winding down and plans being made for winter events and dreams for next summer. I will be busy getting and looking through travel stuff this winter and working on routes and places I want to see for my trip in 2014. I know that's down the road a bit, but take time to plan out. Got to read through blogs of those who have been there, done that, to seek out all the "little stuff" along the way. Plan is to head west through Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Custer State Park area and on out the Yellowstone, Grand Tetons etc. in summer of 2014. So get your planning caps on, those of you who want to go someplace.

Have a wonderful day all.

Summer 2014 does sound good for that trip. We are planning on being in New England next summer, but may put this before our newly formed committee (Mom, Paul and me) to see what they think. I think that would be fun!

Good Morning all,
More rain here this morning!!! Started really early and I was awake, woke at 3:30 to itchy leg. At first I thought it was another chigger but nope, felt close and noticed a very slight bump. Auuugh yes, a tiny tick. Don't think he had been on long but still like chiggers they make a big itchy bump.

Thanks Sue for the information about the propane. I'll have to try turning it off and on once they get it going today and see if it's easy to do. I give my dogs plain pumpkin when I have to give antibiotics along with plain yogurt, be sure to get one that says it has live acidophilus or I think you could get raw milk or goat yogurt there in MI maybe that would help Tessa, and as long as she has been on them I would continue the yogurt for awhile after to get her intestinal I think it's called flora back to normal. Sure hope she gets better soon.

I'm off to a busy day. Hope all goes well for you today Dawn with getting your MH!

Good Morning Sue and Dawn.....I've just gotten back from my morning jaunt...I had to go to Sam's club so I was there when the doors opened up 7am.. I'm not big on crowds and most of all... I hate shopping..gawd..now I don't mind shopping on the internet..cause my fingers do the walking and I don't have to pick and carry anything it gets delivered to my front door...and NO SALES TAX... I pay enough thankyou !

So there I was in this big ARSE garage that Echoed...yes, ECHOS when there is only a few people inside...and I got me one of those Electric Carts and Zooooooooooomed down those isles...hahaha...I know you are all waiting to hear if I had a Murphy experience...but I did NOT...whoopee...Got all that was on my list and then dragged that stuff out to the car...Lordy see that's the stuff I hate.. You have to pick it off the shelf..put it on the counter to be rung up..put it in your car then drive home and tote it out and in the house then put it where it has to be stored...I'm exhausted..hahahaha

Now I got my big pot on the stove cause I have to cook up Chicken for me Critters (I buy the big family package) and I then shredded it up and freeze it to be mixed in with their rice and veggies and dry food...of which I also bought 2 large bags of Rice..hahaha.. toting that alone is my work outs..

As I'm sitting I'm working...(don't you all feel sorry for me ????) be kind now  The rest of the day I'll take it easy and I don't have any other plans other than taking one of those chicken breasts and making Chicken Parm for Dinner tonight...see I do get something ...hahaha...Oh and Hubby made trail mix...he's so proud of his version of trail mix...Dawn you'll get to sample it when you come to the house...:)

Sue, I'm telling ya I'm so thrilled I made you laugh... on my expense !!! So sorry about Tessa...geez.. you know I add lemon juice to my Critters water.. I add a Tablespoon per half gallon...and that was something I've done for years as several of the breeds I raised had problems with high proteins and calcium levels... and the lemon juice (like vitamin c) helped flushing their kidneys...and even with my now older kids.. My Critters don't know what it's like to drink plain water.. I also filter their water too...just like me.. I drink lemon in water... You know it might be best to get another opinion..I've had to do that with Zeke..and he's doing much better..of course on meds the rest of his life with his heart..like me.. but it's never an easy call is it..but they give us such comfort and love.. I'll keep you and Tessa in my prayers..

Dawn..today's the day !...I know you have to be really anxious and I know you've been working hard and with the heat..I sure hope you have the crew there to help you load in...hope you labelled boxes so makes it easy to know where things are going...then there's that delete box..ooops...cause I'm still wondering where all that "stuff" is gonna go

Kathleen...you are too kind...willing to sew my dress hahaha.. you are another one that travels with the Sewing machine...now are you gonna be up in Ocala..cause Me and Dawn will come up to visit you !!! for sure

Carolinagal ... I sure hope your Genny gets fixed cause if not... I know a good place in Georgia..you know the one I stayed at for the week...off exit 99 ...on 95 ...yeppers they were good..not cheap but good..and the KOA off exit 97 was nice too..see I can put in a good word for you :)

Sharon...hope you are enjoying your time in Ashville...where is them pictures...:) and by the way lady..ifn' you get a wild hair you might think Florida..for a nice visit...I even ordered that smoker that Mitch told us about..now I can't promise how things will be when I cook in it..cause it will be a first for me... :o

BJ... I always ride with my frig on propane unless I'm running the genny..but when I pull into gas station I turn it off till I pull out and then back on..something I've always done...cause even when I pull in with genny on.. I turn that off too..just because things can happen easily.. in fact I don't even use the cell phone...

As for Soos..well you know she's doing the happy dance with her potion..omg..can't wait to hear all that good news..

Ava, is back in the saddle..LOL the bus saddle and back on the job and I'm sure she's just lovin' it with all those kiddies...You is brave Ava..LOL.. ...Hope you are having good days their lady !

Echo..haven't heard you moaning lately ...so did you get it all moved over LOL...come on woman you is one tough cookie I know you got that heave hoe and got some help...tell us.. we is waiting..LOL...

Well I can't believe it's Monday...golly time is flying here...this week I head back to the Cardio Doc to get my results..can't wait..cause I just got date from hubby on when we are planning to head back to Florida...Hope to leave Oct 6th...wow..just around the corner...

I've got the Month of Sept to get all my other tests done..Mammo and GYN.. and Blood Work and last but not least my Flu Shot and Pneumonia vaccine and then my scripts for the next 10 months..Holy Hannah ..

With that I'll say "Toodles" as I need to get a move on and finish up ...Hope you all have a great day and stay safe as always God's Blessings Shine Down on All...

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Gads!!!   Where the he77 did all this stuff come from? How the heck we had all this crap stuffed in the older trailer is beyond me! (had to stop a minute to take my scrips) Took stuff over to the storage room yesterday, not much but some. Also took some last night between 8:30 and 9pm and had to bring it back and put it back in the old trailer. Dang gates to storage were locked!!! So I need to do that first thing this morning. Today will see the last of it and we will be done with pulling sheet out of here. My bedroom is empty except for blankies and a few nicknacks. Whew!! That "was" our storage room and had a bunch of stuffed stacked on the back side of the bed. The amount of stuff back there is considerable smaller!!! Looking at what's left sure looks like there is a ton more stuff to go but really it's just basically clutter. To tell you the truth I am throwing out way, way more than we thought we would. And I really wish I could drag one of the dumpsters over to the trailer and just throw the rest of it all in. But......? Sure does look like a tornado went thru the old trailer!!! Gonna be wicked to clean. Why? Why? Do we feel we need to hang on to so much junk????

I am soooo ver thankful for Kelly!!! I don't know what I would do without her. Granted her stuff adds to the load and to the moving but she is a huge amount of help. She has got today off from WalMart so she will be helping big time. Most all of her stuff is in the new trailer but she still has some in the old too. But she will be doing the lifting and toting today and that will give my hand a break.

OK, enough blabbing with my fingers, time to get busy. Kelly is off cleaning bathrooms and cabins and I have got to go reload stuff in the truck and get it to storage. Hope everone has a great day, gets all their chores done, their errands and shopping done and remembers to have fun too. All the while staying safe!

Love to all

ps. Dawn, I envy you getting the MH but sure don't envy the moving into! especially after all the work you've already done getting cleared out and packed up. Woman you have my admiration for sure!!!

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Aug 13, 2012 10:37 am

I have the day off too. Yesterday was chilly, rainy, gloomy, but today the sun is back out and beautiful! I am picking up my aunts dresser and night stand today, so this morning I need to clear out some boxes and things in my room to make room for the furniture. It will look so much nicer in here with that and then can put my clothes away finally!

I have some calls in about several apartments in this area, so hopefully will hear back from some of those today and maybe even check out one or two. Would really like a little place of my own again.

BJ, do you think that was a deer tick? How small was it? Keep an eye on that bite!

Barbzee, hope you had undies on yesterday! Murphy must have a wicked sense of humor!

Sue, hope Tessa's problem is treatable! Keep us updated.

Echo, once you get everything moved over, you can finally sit back and relax and enjoy your new home! Moving is a lot of work!

Have a great day today doing whatever!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Pretty well settled in here in Asheville and today is laundry, house cleaning and the grocery if I get that far. One load is in the washer now and it takes about an hour and a half to do a load. Looking forward to the sightseeing, but nice to have a day just to chill. So, no, the grocery shopping probably won't get done today. Nice park with full H/U's, beautiful walking/biking path along the river but unfortunately someone built a freeway right beside it and the rv park. You can't see it, but you can sure hear it. Thank goodness there's not much traffic at night, either that or I was so exhausted I didn't hear it. I'm sure I'll get used to it since I'll be here for a week. Gorgeous weather here, too! So nice not to have the A/C on. I really appreciate A/C when it's hot as hades, tho! :D Guy that owns this park is a jerk and a half. When I came off the freeway, I couldn't see how to get in the park so I pulled down a half a block and into the parking lot of an rv repair place,
pulled in wrong and couldn't do a u-turn to go back. Had to unhook the car, take Hope into the park, and then walk back and get the car. If he had bothered to tell me that when I called it would have made my life and my nerves much better. When I told him that, he said it was pretty obvious what I needed to do to get back to the park...which is what I did. I told him maybe it was obvious to him since he owned the place. He just had an attitude from the time I walked in the door. Guess he doesn't like lady rv'ers. Asked him how to get back on the freeway from here and he kind of smirked and said go down to the first left. Sheesh!! I'll make sure of where I'm going in the car before I do it in Hope.

OK, that's my rant for today, hope everyone has a great day today!

It's totally official!!!! I got my diploma in the mail this weekend. I'm an official graduate with a MS in Accounting - wheeeeeeeeeeee! Now to go get the sucker framed. I bet that's going to cost a pretty penny since I want to matte it in the school colors.

Good morning all! Sue - Hope Tessa gets better with each day. The trip to S. Dakota, Yellowstone sounds great - such beauty in that part of the country.
Sharon - glad you are settled there finally. It's such a pain when you have to unhook to get somewhere. Enjoy your visit there.
Sandersmr - Congrats on graduating - lots of hard work there for sure.

We ended up getting almost 3 inches of rain Saturday and it's thundering again today. The radar just shows a few scattered showers but with our luck one will be over us. I was thinking about going to town but don't care to go in the rain.

Zee, you are really moving to get to Sam's at 7:00. They are always wanting to upgrade my membership so I can shop early. If they only knew how much having to have a membership to shop ticks me off. I feel like they should pay me to shop. The only reason I have one is for the meat and the steak we had yesterday wasn't anything to brag about. They are like everywhere else, the cost goes up and the quality goes down. I have to have a fight with myself every time I go to not buy the 40 pound pail of cat litter. It is so tempting but I know my shoulder will make me pay for picking it up.

Echo, I keep asking myself how we get so much junk. When our house flooded most of our stuff ended up at the curb and in 6 years we have managed to fill up this place. We don't have the space we had but it is packed. I still have stuff from when I traded my last motorhome. I need to put all that stuff in one place so I know what I have. I either can't find something I know I have or buy something and find that I already had one.

Sharon, that guy doesn't know who he is dealing with. That is my main complaint with campgrounds, their directions and signs. Just because they know how to get there doesn't mean everyone does. When I worked for the fish plant I was the one that usually ended up talking to the truckers because I knew the highway numbers. I knew what roads to tell them not to take. The guys in the warehouse didn't care if they got to the plant or not. That was before GPS's.
