Ava, it was the hula hoop one...I beat Mitch's best score so she had to jump on and prove that she was better than me. Then she had to beat me on the bicycle one. She's such a doofus at times!! She won't let me help cook or do dishes either. Did I mention that she's also anal???? I sure do love her, tho!

Good to see Sharon finally made it to the BM for visit.
I figured Sharon could give you a run for it on the Wii (Mitch showed several of us up on it a couple of years ago). Way to go Sharon.
Agree with Tina on Mitch's cooking, she is sooooo good at it.

I think Mitch needs to post the sweet potato salad recipe. A lady I worked with made potato salad with homemade mayonnaise and it was really good. I looked at the directions once and it sounds like a lot of work and easy to mess it up.

Do you mean to post the sweet potato salad recipe (sweet potatoes, chopped onions, mayo)...or the homemade mayo recipe?
I tell ya, once you have homemade mayo, it's hard to go back to the jarred stuff.

Ok both. :D I looked up sweet potato salad recipes and some were like regular potato salad and others had fruit in them.

I have no recipe for mayp.

I use one whole egg, lots of lemon juice, pepper, hot sauce, salt, and mustard, and one cup plus a little canola oil.

Whirl the egg in the food processor with half the other stuff (which you have mixed all together with a fork, except the oil).

DRIZZLE (this is key) half the oil, the add the rest of the other stuff, and finally, the rest of the oil. VOILA!

My brother uses a stick blender and has maybe a 20% failure rate. Using the food processor, I have a zero failure rate. Using a stick blender, I have a 100% failure rate.

I sanitize EVERYTHING with a mild bleach solution, rinse well, the prepare the mayo...don't want to mess around with that raw egg! By "everything", I mean the blade, the bowls, the spatula, and the final storage container, and anything else that might come in contact with the ingredients.

I tried it once with a hand mixer and it worked fine.

And that's all I know.

How about putting this in the recipe section? Pretty please. And I bet you'll miss Sharon after she leaves. I know she's gonna miss you and your cooking - no matter what she ends up saying. Sharon does like to eat.

So, Miss Sharon has left the building...what a wonderful visit we had (we'll hear HER opinion later, I'm sure. I hope she is kind...).
Destination today = Nashville.

Last night's dinner was THE BEST! Sharon provided 3 WallyWorld chicken breasts. We rubbed one with a commercial rub that was very low salt and we left the other two breasts unadulterated. I made a JEN-you-wine (read "anchovies") Caesar Salad; garlic bread with fresh garlic and fresh grated parmesan cheese; and for me, the obligatory glass of white wine.

I put the breasts in my new little smoker box. Sharon choose hickory chips. I smoked the breasts for about 20-22 minutes. OMG! Unbelievably delicious. Just the right amount of smoke, and the breasts were beyond juicy, which for me is usually a difficult accomplishment. I will try chicken breasts again - next time with meat that has not been "enhanced with up to 15% solution..." (salt water = increased weight = increased profit). Hopefully, they will turn out as juicy!

We both preferred the breast without the commercial rub.

And now The Beast and I return to our quiet and boring little lives. Until next time.

Travel safe!
