Off the Beaten Path this Saturday :)

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Off the Beaten Path this Saturday :)

Postby Barbzeee » Sat Aug 04, 2012 5:05 am

Yeppers, I is off the beaten path this Saturday :)....The New Washer will arrive...somewhere between
10 am and 1pm..now that gives you all and Idea of what I'll be doing...WAITING !!!!

As for Yesterday's chain of events (putting it mildly )..I had the last of my Stress Test done..and I might say, "put your coffee, tea or what ever your drinking down just in case".. ;)

I got a call from the Doc office to ask if I would come in earlier than my appointment..and for me that was not a big deal as the sooner I get in the sooner I get out.. We all know how that feels.. and I was again told.."Make sure you bring your lunch and something to drink"...Okie Dokie... So I whipped up a sandwich of which ever since I was a kid I always cut in quarters..(those cute little bites) and I brought a bottle of water and a bottle of good ole Dr Pepper..on the spot.. Got Critters done and put up..(yes, they go into their cages) and out the door I went..

Now because what had happened to me with my post..(the disappear words) I thought to myself.."Self this is gonna be one heck of a day"...Like I get this little light that turns on.."WARNING"...so I get in the van and over I go..get into the Doc's office and all greeting me.. and I sign in..and then slide over to the other Doc side and sign in there..lucky me my two Docs are in the same office..well one side one group next side other group..you got the picture..

Nurse comes grab me (Cardio Nurse) takes me back in the room and then gives me that heavenly glow injection..Yes, again that little metal box..and then tells me go sit in the lobby and drink..sure enough..with in a few minutes it seems she's back out to scan me then again says.. go and make sure you eat and drink plenty...okie dokie but as I walk out the other nurse grabs me for my vaccine .....so I follow her sit down and Zap like a dart board she gets me.. and that was quick ..back out I go and again sit back and this time.. I open my little lunch box..so cute it's one of those material cold pack type ..got me trusty Loc and Loc with my Sandwich and my bottle of water which I drink down then now take out a bite of sandwich.. look around and the office has lots of other folks eating and drinking...next thing I do is grab my bottle of Dr Pepper twist the top...and Lord Help me...it's like Mount Vesuveus..(or how ever ya spell it) this Dr Pepper shoots straight in the air and flows (for days) straight down in my lap..I still was holding the bottle just looking and I heard a few gasps and laughs and Oooooohs...yep straight in my lap 3/4s of this bottle and to top that off... I was wearing white capri's.. which I don't normally wear white often cause we all know how that goes...Looks nice but don't last..

What seems like a long time I got up and I could feel my face turn beet red and one of the girls in the front desk came over with paper towels..and then I walked back to the bathroom..Now what do I do...well I took off my capri's and undies..Yep had to they were soaked and tried to rinse out..and dry them under the hand dryer...LOVELY PICTURE... and then I hear a knock on the door...Yep it's the Cardio Nurse to Scan me Again...HOLY CRAPPOLA..

I had to put the wet panties on and capri's....did ya ever try to put on wet clothes..it's not an easy task..and they stuck to my legs as I tried to pull them up..but pull them up I did...and as I walked out of the bathroom all eyes were upon me... Lucky Me... but I did get scanned and done did it all..and that was my day ...and then came home.. and later that evening..(no call from Doc) we had a storm come through and we lost power for 3 hours or more..not sure but I was spent, bent and exhausted...

So what's happening on the forum...DUH.. no power no lookie other than what I knew before I left my door...

Paulette, yes, I do understand what's happening and you know any place I'm at you are always welcomed in my casa via home or road...and you have to do what's best for you.. if I wasn't myself gonna down size I'd grab your set up too..That's a fact .

Dawn you know what's in my heart and I know you will be ok and handle what's best for you.. You have that strength to carry it on and live out your dreams like Chuck wanted you too...and you know I'm always on the other side of that FaceTalk I phone or what have you there for you too... Take Care of You cause that's all that matters the rest will fall into place..

Kathleen (Dayspring) I hope you enjoyed that Pizza and putting the pictures on computer..that's always neat cause you get to flash back in memories as you look at those again.. Hope you is feeling better and boy I love that fruit in the morning..I have to tell you..(don't get offended ) but the other day when you were saying all the fruit you had..immediately what came to my mind..." Gawd it's like Fruit of the Loom " hahaha.. see my mind tends to wander...dementedly...can't help it..Momma always gave me a Whack upside the head cause I'd do the same thing..LOL

Barbie (Barbara Rose) I believe is back home..well the last time I peeked into the Campfire she was truckin right along

Wendy (Readytogo) Always love that name.. I sure hope you didn't spewel that coffee..cause my whopper sure did spewel over me..:) can't wait to meet you too !

Irmi, taking down trees this week..well I sure know I had to do mine here and back in Florida.. I love them but boy when them storms come rolling in..they make a mess...and I have to ask you..What's with the little pies..Kathleen's talked about I hear you is a gooooood cook...You are another one I've got to me..Us that love good cookin need a group meet lol

Red (Redwahine) Ouch on the hubby's moods..and with that plane seat arrangement that always amazes me that they make up that seat numbers when there isn't..I too often wondered should I or shouldn't I..but mine isn't always on seating..sometimes it's my normal day..LOL Hope you have a better go at it ! Think of your happiness !

Lorie and Ernie..Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy.. and make sure you do batten down them hatches in Wyoming..it didn't get it's name for nothing...:)

I read and heard that Tina and Nan are heading back from Alaska..guess Lizzie is still staying there..don't blame her I know she loves all that outdoors stuff and Birdie too...keep them pictures coming !

Soos (Nasoosie)...You never cease to amaze me either.. I sure wish I had your stamina..so you had your deal with the Washing Machine too..hope it went well..and by the way..anytime a free concert is near me...I'm there..love music..although I'm more a Blues lover..(wonder why)...looking forward to meeting you in Florida this coming winter..

Ok, I'm gonna get off and I'm on this tall box here and I'm afraid I'm gonna get bounced...but I am thinking of you all and I know I've missed a lot of you..but remember there is always another chapter to follow...and I'm enjoying sharing breakfast too with you all..while I can...but as you know my life goes like a roller coaster ..lots happening that some days I'm not able to even function...with what's going on behind the scenes...but one thing ..and that's for sure..You all are the Greatest Group of Sistahs...

God's Blessing Shine Down on All !

Zeee and her looney tunes life !!

Morning Barb Z and all to follow.

Sitting here with all three dogs in my lap drinking my coffee. Rascal has his jaw bone pressed right in my shin bone. Ouch. Got to move his head. Not sure what I will do today. Still have more pictures to scan into computer. Then on to the rest of my CD's. Gotta have my music! Barb, I haven't done much laundry this week either, so that has to get done too. Probably
starting next week the push to the end of being here will be on, so may just kind of coast today.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you're traveling, stay safe

I hope your new washer arrives without mishap today Barbz and glad that your tests are over for now.
Must have been the day for doctoring, I ended up seeing my local doctor for my left ear. It has been stopping up so I Googled what to do and the most popular answer was a bit of peroxide and water, Nope didn't work, I now felt like I had an earful of water. So I called hoping they could tell me a home fix, I wanted to add some alcohol or Swimmers Ear but was not sure if the peroxide and alcohol would explode! Bad new was they wanted to see "that ear" I think I should have stayed home because now after having her take a tiny shovel to my ear and another person squirting massive amounts of peroxide and water into my ear with a hose hooked up to a spray bottle (real high tech) I still have a clogged ear. The only relief was it no longer feels full of water. Oh, then they gave me a hearing test and told me my other ear was worse than my plugged up ear. Well I'm here to tell you they missed that one. I can hear very well from right ear and not much at all from left. The machine they tested my hearing with was in a wooden box that was so old the hinges were broken. I know it was older than the woman giving the test. No wonder the are so many infections contacted from doctors offices and hospitals. The woman who did the hearing test pushed the steps under the exam table back, then picked up the tip of the thing she was going to stick in my ear to flush it. So I pointed this out and she asked would I be more comfortable if she got a new tip all the while claiming she had held it at the top...yes I would please! So off she goes returning with a new tip, not in plastic and held carefully in the still germy hands! I gave up and shut my eyes. The doctor wasn't much better, when she washed her hands she turned the facets on and off with her hands. Does no one understand basic hygiene!!!!
They made me an appointment to see the PA who works with the ENT doctor in two weeks. I'll be calling another doctor on Monday!!!

IT"S STARTED RAINING!!!!!! Not really hard but maybe it will continue, at this point every drop is welcome. I'm going to stand out in it and breathe the rain fresh air.

Good Morning! Haven’t been posting much because it’s been a rather depressing summer without any fun or good news on this end. But it sure has been enjoyable following the Alaska crew on their adventures and everyone else’s travels and stories. It’s always a bright spot in my day. We’ve only had the 5er out once for the annual 4th of July marathon. It was hot, hot and really not a fun trip this year. The temperatures were in the triple digits every day and we compared ourselves to raccoons….hibernated in the campers with the A/C all day and ventured out to carouse in the evening when it cooled down a tiny bit! While we were gone our neighbor’s lawn burned from someone throwing fireworks out of a car. The fire was within 3 feet of their house and had spread into the back part of our lot. They were gone also, so we’re all very glad that someone called the fire in.

We haven’t had any measurable rain since May. All our crops are toast and all the corn will be cut into silage to for cattle feed…so there won’t be any corn being sold this year. We only have had one cutting of hay (we normally get three) so the silage will help. DH and son are also busy hauling up to 10,000 gallons water a day to cattle because the stock dams are dried up in some of the pasture land that can still be used for grazing. We had thunder boomers go through yesterday with just enough rain to get the patio wet. But in the process lightening struck our friends hay stack and it caught on fire. They lost over 140 large round bales. Our poor volunteer fire department has been called out at least once every day since the beginning of July. Bless their hearts…they do all this for a thank you and maybe a cold beer! Their employers should also be recognized for letting them drop everything and head to a fire during work hours.

Today is going to be the normal Saturday try to catch up day. Later today I’m going to my mom’s to take her and my sister out for supper…Monday is mom’s 93rd birthday. Going to spend the night and come home tomorrow afternoon. I can hear the roar of Harley’s headed to Sturgis on the highway behind our house…that will be pretty common for the next week or so!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Zee, you are a hoot!!!! Thanks for the spew warning. From now on I will leave all drinks aside when reading your posts. Glad to hear the tests were good.

Trying to stay cool here. We had 2 days of 115 degrees this week. I am melted and wilted and shriveled. Not a pretty sight. The weatherman did tease with a 99 degree day soon and then back to triple digits.

At least the Olympics are on. At least I can enjoy watching sporting events I don't normally watch. Go USA.

That's all folks. Everyone stay safe and enjoy your day. Linda

Good morning all, I have to be brief, cuz this darn thing keeps kicking me off and erasing my words. Maybe that's a hint?? Staying at Holiday Inn Express right on the Ole Mississippi River. Room has balcony with the most beautiful view of the river....and ohhhh last night the full moon went right down into the water :o breakfast room also view of the river.

Yeasterday all the women folk ( aunts, sisters, mom, step mom, ) took us to have pedicures and manicures.mthat was fun. A nice way to get to know new people, then lunch. Last night was rehearsal dinner. Went well. Sat at table with bride's mom, stepdad, dad, stepmom, bride, groom, groom's dad (my DH) and me ( groom's step mom of 3 yrs). Bio mom & dad sat next to one another. We had a surprisingly great time. Everyone got along and it was fun. Today is the wedding at a camp that the bride went to every year growing up. An outdoor wedding at 4pm in the Iowa heat. Fun. If I don't melt, I'll let you know how it went.

Everyone try to stay cool and if you are traveling, stay safe....aloha

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

I am sitting here swilling my second cup of coffee and taking my time at it. Also watching the clock tick away at my free minutes at home. ~sigh~ Have to be at work at 1pm and worn till close. I didn't get out of work until 10:45pm last night. We had customers right up until the last moment and then Tony the other dishwasher decided to move stuff around and do a bang up job cleaning the floor. I left there with my feet dripping, soaking wet. Picked Kelly up from work just as she got out and was ready to sit in the bus stop. Working these hours and in the heat of the kitchen is ready to kill me. I so just wanted to throw in the towel and walk off the job and go straight home. The heat and fast pace is not fun at all. At about 4pm or so I told the lead guy to get someone to cover for me as I needed to go sit and have a break. Poor Tony had been on the job since 9am and he closed last night. I feel really crappy about the whole deal cause I have slowed myself down and some of the others now have to pitch in and help. But I'm damned if I am gonna actually kill myself over this job!!! It just isn't worth it. I don't think the clinic is open today at the park, if it was I would be in there before I punched in. Might just check it out anyway. If not I will be knocking on their door Monday to have them check my BP and rewrite my scrips for my BP meds.

Barb? You and Murphy need to get a divorce!!! Good grief woman!!!!! :o Who married who and brought him into the family anyway? Shoot them!

Paulette, it's a strange thought that you wont have your RV. I too am hoping that you stay with us and simply get a smaller rig!!!

Red, it sure sounds like an "all in the family" affair!!! Hope the wedding and reception is a good time for you.

Ava, sure wish I had the time to watch too. I usually at least watch the gymnastics but haven't had the time.

Pat, sure sounds like it's a tinder box out there and that people need to be more careful. On my TX trip I saw some corn fields in OK that were "toasted" too. Much more and I think the kernels well start popping. They would have to start selling popcorn then!!

BJ, I can hear your frustration!!! I've read that the more they try to do away with the germs the worse and more resistant that they get. But yeah they sure need to work on the basics!!! Can't blame you for wanting to call a different doctor!!

OK gonna try and do a little catch up before I have to get dressed and out the door for work here. Hope everyone has a great day, is careful and stays safe!

Love to all

Pat, wish I could have sent you some of our rain. It has rained almost everyday for over a month and it's raining now. Last year we had a drought but not as bad as yours. This time of year I am usually worried about our ponds because they are down 3 or 4 feet. I don't know how many times they have overflowed this year. Last year when we went to Texas everything was brown. This spring they were getting rain and cutting hay everywhere, even in the road ditches.

Zee, hope you get your new washer delivered. I am loving my new washer and dryer. I had an apartment size washer and dryer because I wanted to stack them so I would have floor space for the litter box. I have a very small utility room. I had to replace the door on the washer 3 times in 6 years. Maytag wouldn't admit it was a design flaw and the door was too heavy for the plastic hinge. When it left the door was being held together with duct tape. When the dryer started making noise I wasn't going to spend another cent on them. Maytag can kiss my business good buy.

Don't know what I will do today. Want to go to Lowe's but don't know if I will make it. It has been on my list for 2 weeks but by the time I did other things I was too tired to go to Lowe's. Maybe if I go there first I will make it.

Martha - you must be on the other side of the high that's sitting over Dallas. It's keeping us from getting rain right now - although we are supposed to start getting some early next week, no matter what Ernesto does. I guess it depends on what way that high moves as to where Ernesto comes ashore. I will be keeping an eye on the weather all week.

Today is laundry and some house work, then probably dinner with friends. An out-of-town friend is in town to see B and I picked her up at the airport then spent the afternoon at B's.

I loved Zeee's story and can definitely relate to the lap full of Dr. Pepper. There is a reason I never ever wear white pants/shorts and rarely wear white shirts.

Sitting in my RV waiting for my son and grandkids to finish fishing so we can head for home (Napa, CA--his home). All is packed up except the kids bikes and I just need to close the slides and dump. This is a kids paradise--pools, water park, petting zoo, western town, fishing, playground, etc. It is also very noisy and not a place I would come to on my own because of the noise and dust, but I am keeping door and windows closed and using AC to maintain some cleanliness.

Had a great drive through the redwoods in the past 5 days, but I do NOT recommend U.S. 20 west of Willits, CA and U.S. 1 up through Fort Bragg to Leggett. It is extremely winding and narrow with construction making it even worse. Very hazardous in anything longer and wider than a regular car, especially with huge logging trucks coming at you. Very scary. I had once thought I would drive US 1 north to south from Canada to Mexico, and now have decided U.S. 101 is scary enough!!

Monday is my big day at the dealers, hoping to get my list of about 15 warranty items taken care of--large and small. Cannot believe so many things are broken on this brand new motorhome and have been in touch with the factory customer relations people. I told them if all is not fixed, I would be in their parking lot in Indiana in early November--and I WILL BE!!!!

I told my Sister that I was going to take her to the worlds longest yard sale. I have read several articles about it over the years. It looks like it would be fun for a while. I use to stop at the yard sales and flea markets for my Sister. Now when she says there's a flea market I just go LA-LA-LA-LA I can't hear you.. We would never get where we are going if I stopped everywhere she wants to stop.

I was wondering if Barbie made it too. Guess she doesn't have internet yet.

UH OH its not morning anymore...BUT it is still Saturday.

I am camping on the beautiful Willamette river up by Oakridge Oregon. Wow it is very neat here. I will be here 11 days when I leave Monday.....still dont want to leave HA HA BUT I have other camping to get in gear for. I have extended my stay twice, so I have totally moved twice......but it was worth it.

Laura (CougarFan) and I are going camping Aug 16th for 4 nights (me probably longer) in Central Oregon, LaPine area. We found a pretty neat campground with not a ton of spaces but nice spacious pull thru sites. We had no trouble reserving 2 sites right next to each other.

I have been busy sorting out a couple of my drawers in the Motorhome as its pretty warm outside even with the great breeze. Geez found some stuff I didnt even know I had LOL Organized my kitchen drawers and just generally tidied up. Washed all the windows yesterday. Threw out a few things today that were pretty useless. Then I had to stop and have some ice cream (I needed the strength to carry on). Then vacuumed up the dog hair and general dust and now I am done for today. Tomorrow I have a couple small tubs in the outside bays that I think I will bring in here and go thru cause I cant even remember what is in them now. Extra bulbs, fuses, tools, etc It's so much easier to do while I am camped here with the great AC and the time to do it. I have been keeping busy reading my IPAD and the WIFI is great. TV not so great, since I have moved I am now in the trees.....no satellite :( I had DVR'd a couple of movies but alas no reception. Seems like that was one thing that motivated me to clean so guess its a good thing ha ha And the shade is very welcomed. I still have a great view of the river about 300 feet right in front of me.

OK so thats my day, very exciting!!!!
