Dawn, I'm so sorry! I basically gave my ex money that he didn't deserve (and the judge said so at the divorce hearing) in order to get it over with and on with my life. I also couldn't see spending the time and attorney fees (I was told it could take a year or several) if I fought him. Yes, everyone said I'd win - but at what cost? I see why you are doing the same here. But my heart hurts for you that your children are causing so much pain. I'm so glad that one daughter sees things as they really are and supports you. Big hugs to you.

It's times like this that I could just choke the person who feels they are "OWED" something for nothing.... Your plan for the 25% sounds like a good one cause it covers all your bases.....You deserve to enjoy what you and Chuck planned....can't add anything more to what everyone else has said....And, I, too, am just "Heart Sick" for you. As parents we try so hard to raise our kids with the right values, but sometimes the "teaching & learning" just doesn't stick..... I'm sorry you have to deal with this and pray that all will turn out for you. And yes, "what comes around, goes around"....she will get what she deserves in the end...The Good Lord will see to that.... ;)

I believe karma is a real bi@#$ and she will get hers. In the meantime, hugs to you.

My mom discussed with my sister before she changed her will - but she wanted to leave me the house because I was there almost every day with my dad and then again when my mom was sick. My sister did what she could but she lived out of town, part of it out of country. But then Mom moved and Kathy bought half the new house because it cost twice what the old house did (smaller house than what she had in TX but housing is that much more in Atlanta) - so we are now each getting half of the house. The rest of the estate will be divided between us and my 3 nieces/step-nieces. And Kathy and I are both ok with this.

the youngest certainly opened herself a can of worms. When its all said and done she won't end up with much cause if she's financially strapped her
creditors will get their hands in it before she does. I bet she never thought of that, and good old uncle sam will always get his first.

Yes!!!! Karma's a biotch when it comes back to bit you in the arse. She will get right back the pain and suffering she has caused you and in an appropriate message to her....in the wallet. She will try to blame you, but she has no one to blame but herself. I'm glad this is working out for you :D Keep your chin up and know we are all rooting for you!!!

If she had not said she would contest the will to get "her" portion of the farm, she would be getting 1/3 of everything when I pass and not just 1/3 of 25%. I will have my will redone before I leave here. Her portion of my will is going to be $1.00. I will have it probated right away so she won't be able to contest it when I pass. I also need to remove her as a beneficiary on our bank accounts and my life insurance. Will be a little more work to take care of. Tahra and I hate it that Laura has put a real rift in her relationship with her sister and myself. She is not returning anyone's calls now.

   Love it Dawn, and I do hope you see to it that your lawyer does send her a copy of your updated will.

I was so upset, mad and heart broken for you when I read your first post.

Now I am sitting here chuckling. Yep!!! What goes around comes around. I love Karma!!!

You GO GIRL!!! Kinda sounds like what I did to my sister when she contested Dad's will. As it was she dropped the whole thing when I threatened to chew into her share and what was coming out of FL. And then my nephew and the lawyer made her pay for shipping Dad's ashes, the whole funeral and all the cost of the accident in FL. Nephew made her pay for 1/2 the cost of the stone. She had just enough left over to buy her husband a motorcycle.

I am in your cheering section for sure!!! :D ;)

One must never assume what you put out on the internet is private....even you. This too is a public forum, so I hope you will be careful what you say here and on FB, assuming any of those mentioned could be reading it.

It's a good idea to pay off any credit card or other debts you have regardless of whether you must, so you can start your new life debt-free, and not lose any more money to interest payments.

Best wishes for a speedy resolution.
